Masculine card with video

Ok I think it's masculine, men might disagree, but look not pinks, no purple, NO glitter, I mean if that's not masculine, I  give up lol.
I see lots of technical stamps, like cameras, cars, tools, ties, or their hobbies/sports and I wanted to do something else.

The card is for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: masculine, showcasing Darkroom door products, but I don't have any.
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is also: masculine showcasing Tim Holtz products (Distress inks)

So I stamped my fish from Avery Elle (that bites)  onto Crafter's companion Neenah paper with Simon Says Stamp Intense black ink and had the Brother Scan N cut cut them out.

For the background I used Distress inks: mermaid lagoon (is that girlie lol), blue print sketch and chipped sapphire.
Lightest at the top, where the sun might still hit the ocean and darker further down.
I inked the whole background as I'm mounting the frame with foam tape and you can see the edges, I think it looks neater that way and it's only a little bit more effort.
Splattered the ink with water as that's mandatory with Distress inks ;-), makes it look like bubbles.

For the fish I used bright colors that would pop against the blue, and I colored the fish in one color to keep it clean...I was tempted to use my Nuvo shimmer pen for glitter, as I think fish are slimy and shiny ;-) BUT I didn't ...
I cut a panel into strips for the front and stamped the sentiment from the same set with Versafine onyx black ink.
Mounted the strips with foam tape.I positioned the fish and adhered the lime green one flush to the background and the other two with foam tape, making sure the antenna of the angler fish stuck out the frame.

  1. I agree, great masculine colors and what guy doesn't like a tough fish with fang-like teeth. Love it! Thanks for joining us on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
