Artist Trading Coins Savanne

Today I got in my order from Simon Says Stamp, amongst them was the Creative Expressions On Safari stamp.

So I just had to ink it up for the Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday Challenges.
The Monday Challenge is about  Vintage/past times and I thought the crackle glaze would mimic the age of the coins and the past times people went on Safari  to shoot animals,, I prefer photo Safaris by the way and cuddling lions instead of killing magnificent beasts....

The Wednesday Challenge is Anything goes, showcasing Pink and Main products, but I do not own any.

For the coins I used Mixed Media card and
traced three circles on it. I then knew where to apply my inks with mini finger daubers. I've used Memento dew drops this time (Rhubarb stalk, Love letter, Morocco, Tangerine and Dandelion for my sunset.

I stamped the silhouette image with Versafine Onyx black ink, twice to get a good dark impression. then applied a generous layer of clear crackle glaze. the thicker the layer, the bigger the crackle and if only start to appear when it's dry or there abouts, so be patient.

This is the third stamp I have in this style, Love them, might have to make a proper card with it too, just no crackle then...

Anyway

Coloring Bear with Heart Balloon, from Lee Holland art, with video

Today I  made a coloring video for this cute little bear holding a balloon.

It's aptly named Bear with Heart Balloon, from Lee Holland Art.
This is one of the 8 images you can find in a value pack of 8UK pounds in his Etsy Shop

I have printed the digi onto the Crafter's Companion Marker paper and colored it using all the alcohol markers brands: Noir, Illustrator and Copic.
Rounded the bottom corners, for a nice effect and on the balloon I've added NUvo Shimmer pen and Aleene's paper glaze for shine and dimension.

Robocat

I colored up this robot chat from Katzelkraft with Polychtomos pencils for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (things with wheels) and the Male Room Challenge Anything goes.

There are actually robots on wheels, even the Wiener dog has wheels, but I like cats, so robocat it is. Inside there's many wears and such I imagine help the wheels go round...Also I thought it would add to the steampunk feel....

For the cardbase I applied Distress Oxides (Dusty concord and Seedless preserves) and splattered it with water.  I diecut the gears from black card and used  Rusty patina to age them adhered them on the cardbase. Mounted the cat with foamtape. Not sure what sentiment would go with this,so I left it until I will use the card.
I don't have a matching purple background,so excuse the pink, might not be as manly as it could be for the Male Room haha.

Feestje

Feestje means, party, like a kids party, not a  party of lawyers or something ;-)

I made it for the Male Room Challenge: anything goes and do  not use designer paper...as if..hehe

I made a balloon stencil by diecutting a circle from acetate and then cutting out the "knot" bit by hand.

I've used Distress inks for the balloons and black splatters: black soot, worn lipstick, wilted violet, mermaid lagoon, cracked pistachio and mustard seed.

I've also added gold splatters with the Nuvo Shimmer pen Midas Gold.

the Feestje is from Karin Joan/Marianne Design KJ1728 and I've diecut it from black card
with double sided adhesive behind it, also Marianne design lr0014.

There's also a feestje stamp in the set, but it's rather new (came out today) and I didn't want to ruin my balloons with a fresh stamp, because it's 11pm and I didn't feel like cleaning it and conditioning it ;-)

Glittered Hello

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: No stamps allowed, showcasing the SSS own brand.

After a bit of a panic attack...no stamps allowed!...I thought I could use the SSS Big Hello die and a lot of glitter.

I diecut black craft foam, and stuck in on a cradbase. This type  of foam is sticky on one side, and so I removed the release paper bit by bit to add the glitter in rainbow order, making sure to burnish it well. Then Clean it up and fix it with spray fixative. The heart is also a diecut and treated the same way.

Thank you card

The Less is More Challenge this fortnight is: ONE layer and focus on the sentiment.

For my card I used the Impression Obsession E20163 Thank you sentiment. I stamped it on the cardbase with Versafine Onyx black ink and heat set it. Then I grabbed a dotted stencil and a mask stencil, basically a bit of card of plastic with a circle cutout.
I placed it around the sentiment and applied Versamagic Turquoise gem and Summer Sky.
A few enamel dots in matching colors.

For more information on the Less is More Challenge, see this.

And because they are so quick and easy to make I made 4 more in about 15 minutes :-D They're a bit more vibrant than the first one , but then I'm not entering those hehe

AAA Cards Challenge #134: One Corner + Music, with realtime video

This fortnight our challenge is to use One corner and the optional twist is music.
Our Sponsor is Uniko and I've used the All Occasion Sentiments #6.
Uniko has a fab Equalizer stamp, I don't have it, but I think that is "music".

For my card I've used the Crafter's Companion Marker paper, stamped the image from Katzelkraft (Les Pabos 2) with My Favorite Things Hybrid Black ink.
The Sentiment from Uniko I've stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink.

My first Idea was to partial stamp Celebrate next to a Katzelkraft robot, to say  ce-le-br-ate..like the Daleks from Dr. Who would say Exterminate...but fun instead of death.

Then I remembered one of these characters was playing the violin, so I thought it to be perfect for the Music twist, together with a punched music note.

I colored the image with Spectrum Illustrator and Copic Markers.

For a chance to win an instock stampset of your choice from Uniko, be sure to play along and link up your card.

Enjoy your day

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Channel is: B&W+ one color, showcasing Avery Elle Products.

For my card I used the Avery Elle set called Beside the sea for the sentiment.

I masked a portion of the cardbase so I could inkblend the blue Distress Oxides, I used: Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China and tumbled glass, all ONE color I think, just different hues hehe.
I then too off the mask at the top so I could position the girl with butterflies so the butterflies  come outside the inked portion. The stamp is from StudioLight (Stampsl355) and I've stamped it with Versafine Onyx black ink.
I've used the same ink to stamp the  Creative expressions Magical Meadow on the  lower part of the inked strip.

Then I stamped the sentiment from Avery Ellle, also with Versafine onyx black ink.
Added a few blue glittery enamel dots and thought it done :-D

Color Changing Chameleon from Your Next Stamp, video

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is to make an interactive card.
The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is Typography (play with letters).
Not entirely sure if adding a sentiment is playign with letters, might have to  make another, but for now this is it.

I made a spinning wheel card. instead  of the dies included in the set to make a video, I used the Chameleon shape.
The Chameleon is from Your Next stamp (one in a chameleon), it comes with matching dies, but I don't  have them.

For my wheel I've used a scalloped circle diecut and inkblended Distress inks on them (Candied apple, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, twisted citron, mowed lawn, blueprint sketch, wilted violet  ans picked raspberry).

I stamped the chameleon and sentiment on a panel, the same size as the card base and I've used Versafine Clair Ink for that.
I then cut out the chameleon with a little border and poked a hole in the centre of the  panel.

I also stamped the chameleon with Stazon on acetate and mounted this behinde the opening so the line drawing or stamping is back.

Punched a notch frm the side, so you can actually turn the wheel. I forgot to do this on

the cardbase too, and fixed it later only to cut into my wheel, so don't do that ;-).
A brad keep everything in place and some foamtape add dimension between the wheel and the cardbase, so it turns easier.

I did use a nice purple brad but to make it look like it belongs there, in the middle on my white panel, I added some enamel dots.

I think it's super fun how the Chameleon  changes color, almost real;-)..ha..

You're my favorite human

I 've used this sentiment once with a puppy, But I thought it would also go well with a robot, another critter and these Aliens, of course.

I made it for the Male Room Challenge: love your men.
I don't have a man in my life, but my neighbour girl asked me for a card for her "love interest" hehe she's 8..not sure if they're together yet, didn't ask, but he loved everything Sci-fi, so I thought this to be perfect?

I masked of an area for the space and applied Distress inks in various colors and then splattered with water, white and Silver Distress Spray Stains, heat setting in between.

The images I colored with Spectrum Noir markers and cut them out. They are from Craftin Desert Divas (outer space and Space cadet). The sentiment is from Paper Smooches ( Fun and flirty). I've used Versafine Clair Nocturn ink to stamp it.

Mounted the Aliens with foam tape.

How does the Easter Bunny stay in shape?

He does Hare-obics haha..
OK I think that's funny. It's a set from Inky Antics called Easter Riddles and I stamped one of the bunnies from the same set with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink, colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers and cut him out. The sentiments I stamped with Versafine Clair ink.

I made the card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: add some red, showcasing Inky Antics Products.I only have this set of theirs and a Christmas one I think, either way both are a bit early ;-)

For the background I swiped Red Magic  from Versamagic on the cardbase. Heat set it, then stamped the My Favorite Things  Wavy Coloring book stamp with Versamark and heat embossed it with Wow!  metallic rich gold embossing powder. I thought it would mimic decorated Easter eggs. for the eggs windows I used my plotter, the dies I have were not the right size for this design.Mounted the panel with foamtape and added it to the cardbase. then placed the Easter Bunny.

AAA Cards Challenge #133: One layer and Love, with video

This fortnight our challenge is: one layer with an optional twist of the theme love.

Our sponsor is Stamplorations, sadly I have none of her fab products (yet). But you can win a $25 giftcard.

For my card I used "fluweel" cardstock, which means Velvet card. It's said to work well with inkblending (much like Bristol smooth it dulls the colors a lot) and with Copics, haven't tried that yet. I've used my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils to color the cat and Nuvo Midas touch for the heart, to add a bit of shimmer and interest.

I stamped the images and sentiment with Versafine onyx black ink and heat set it.

The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays (heartfelt sayings) and the cat and heart are from Craft Sensations.

I used odorless spirits to blend the pencils.
Pretty simple card, a must with one layer and CAS I think. Coming up with it took longer than making it I think..

Less is More Challenge 8th Birthday: Navy and Yellow

First of all, congratulations to the Less is More Challenge Blog's 8th Birthday!.
Don't think I was there since the start, but I've been playing for 5-6 years? I do not remember, doesn't matter. Love the Less is More Challenges, as I love CAS.

Navy and Yellow, not my favorite colors though, so I had a think about what to do.
I came up with the Katzelkraft Robot, and it's even colors blue on the packaging. I've added yellow details on the gears, lights and such.

For this I've used Polychromos pencils and Spectrum Noir Blending Solution. I only have the 24 pencils set and this is the darkest blue in there, not sure it's a proper navy.
The sentiment if from the Time Traveler set by Kindred Stamps. I think it's to go with the Dalek in their set, but I do not recall blue Daleks, or I might have used that one.

I stamped both sentiment and image with Versafine Clair Nocturn ink and heat set it before coloring.
