Less is More Challenge #224 : hello sunshine

Less is more challenge #224: hello sunshine.
I made a one layer card. Used a circle die to make a mask of the sun.
Sponged that with Distress inks ( mustard seed and fossilized amber).
Stamped the cherry blossom tree in Memento ink and the sentiment too.
Added 3 pearls as blossoms.

I thought about adding a bit of blue for the sky, but I really wanted to keep it as CAS as possible.
Even the sentiment seems  a bit big on hindsight..;-)

Yesterday Whilst putting plastic in the recycling container the metal flap of the container squashed my hand, or finger tops actually, one finger in particular is all blue and bashed up, swollen and stiff...but it won't keep me from crafting...lol...altough it's a bit more challenging now...anyway...

Sketch Saturday Challenge #360

I found another challenge blog through commenting on entries by other partecipants
on other challenges.

This is the first time I take part in the Sketch Saturday Challenge.

It's a fabulous blog, so I encourage you to visit too.

For my card I  stamped "Cheers bear" from Lili of the Valley with Staz-on on watercolor paper.
I've colored the image with Peerless watercolors.

It doesn't look like it in the picture, but the bow of the present is the same color as the cardstock. I've added a white piece on the inside so you can write a message.
The happy brithday is from Sizzix (birthday stampset by Stephanie Bernard)
I've used different lilac strips that complement the background cardstock, one is glittery and fun.

Freshly made sketches challenge #186

For the Freshly made sketches #186 I made a top folding card.
Excuse my hand there (with still  muddy nails, I just got in from the allotment garden ;-) ).
I needed to hold it shut so you can appreciate the design.
A window into the inside of the card with a butterfly and a hint of something more...
I've stamped 3 butterflies and colored them with my Spectrum Noir and Copic markers.
the stamps are from Craft Sensations and stamped with Memento black ink.

The sentiment is from the Dragonfly set from Hot off the press, also Memento.

Few sparkly sequins, who from I don;t know anymore.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: use Simon Says Stamp exclusive products and CAS on Sunday

For this week's SImon Says Stamp Challenge, we're supposed to use Simon Says Stamp exclusive products.
I usually don't combine challenges, but f or the CAS on Sunday the theme is cheer up buttercup, and we believe in you seems a good motivational sentiment...

I don;t have many SSS exclusive products, so had to get a bit more creative than usual...

I've used the Simon Says stamp tilted banner sayings for the sentiment
and the coordinating die to make the rainbow background.
Simon Says Stamp rainbow pack cardstock.
Simon says stamp foam tape to raise the black panel off the white cardstock
Home made enamel dots and a few rhinestones
tape runner to adhere the banner to the black cardstock and gluedots for the enamel dots
Simon Says stamp black dye ink
I made the black mat a little smaller than the banners, so they would peek out at the sides, just for fun and added dimension, having it raid helps ofcourse.

AAA challenge #39: 1st birthday extravaganza

Happy birthday to AAA cards, a wonderful challenge blog I recently was told about.
Such great creations and wonderful ladies in the design team.
I enjoy taking part in their challenges, today I've enjoyed a great blog hop and was so inspired to make this bright and cheerful card.
I 've used Talens ecoline ( a fluid, transparant and very bright watercolour).
Wanted to use my new WOW! sparkle embossing powder, but it turns out it's not white it's transparant, so I switched to white.
Few enamel dots and rhinestones for a festive feel.

Happy Birthday AAA cards!, for more info on their challenge, see this

Addicted to CAS #63: Birds

Addicted to CAS #63: Birds and DT call.

I'd like to be considered for the DT, so that has put a lot more pressure on making this card.
I made two in the end because I don't think my first one (night scene) is really as CAS as it could be as it took a lot of inking to make the background.
And although not white it's still empty space.
I like the moody night scene, just not how it photographed, the blending is really smooth in real life.

So on to the other and the entry for the challenge: Tim Holtz's bird cazy, stamped with Memento and coloured with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  Sentiment is from Sizzix.
Few matching pearls to help your eye travel across the card and strengthen the green colour choice...my boyfriend calls this a zombie bird..lol...
I cut it slightly smaller and the card base and mounte it with foam tape.

Less is More Challenge #223: one layer and water

Simply Less is More Challenge #223: one layer and water.

I made a card base from watercolour paper and coloured it first quite smoothly with Distress inks. Mermaid lagoon is my new favourite so that features heavily ;-).
Also salty ocean, faded jeans, chipped sapphire.
Some watered down with Perfect pearls mist.
Dried that with my heatgun.
Then I heat embossed the sentiment from Joy Crafts in white embossing powder.
Then set to Distress the "ocean" as if they were bubbles and such, used the smooshing technique, splattering, even ink block printing, drying constantly between layers.
final touches were splattering brushed pewter, picket fence and mermaid lagoon Distress Spray stains.
Then when dried I use the edge of my table to flatten the curls back out of the paper.
I use good quality watercolor paper so that's pretty easy actually.
