Addicted to CAS Challenge #65: Butterfly

Addicted to CAS Challenge #65: Butterfly.

Excuse the awkward angle, the card is all good and square, but the angle I shot it at was a bit off ;-)...

I stamped the butterflies in Memento black ink and coloured them with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (birthday balloons).
3 matching pearls.
CAS at it's max and I love it...;-)
The paper is special Neenah classic crest blending paper, i've glue taped it to the card bas, as alcohol markers will bleed through on one layer cards.

Less is More Challenge #227: sunset colours

Less is More Challenge #227: sunset colours.

I've googled and found a stunning sunset picture.
Wanted to slather the whole cardfront in those colours, but that's not CAS ;-).

I've used Distress inks (dusty concord, picked raspberry and ripe persimmon).
On hindsight maybe a seedles preserve or a chipped sapphire instead of dusty condcord, would maybe match the photo better, but I really like the gradient as it is. I've also opted to have my gradient go horizontally as the strip is so narrow, in the photo the gradient is vertical.
Used Simon Says Stamp Small hello to diecut it from the front panel.
Mounted a black apnel behind it as the  shrubbery in the photo, no real dimension, just flat layers.
3 iridescerent rhinestones to help your eye focus.

Pretty Pink Posh water color blog hop

Pretty Pink Posh water color blog hop.

I  got this gorgeous Penny Black Stamp (fresh) yesterday and I had to use it for this blog hop. It's perfect for (water)coloring.

I also got the new Distress ink (twisted citron) and had to incorporate that as well of course.
I used also Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink (re-inkers) for the background and even mixed the two to get that darker green. I wanted to frame the flowers from the opposite corners by making those darker.
Part of the choice to use Distress inks and not just my Talens ecoline is because I wanted to splatter water on the background to get that Distressed look.

I've stamped the flowers with StazOn and colored those in with Talens Ecoline, a fluid very vibrant watercolor, i've used two reds and a brown and a yellow and an orange and two greens.
Extended the stems where needed to reach the bottom of the page.
I've used 140lbs hot pressed smooth water color paper from Schut.
A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkly sequins to frame the arrangement.
Mounted everything with foamtape on a cardbase.

I really like the vibrant feel to this card, also really enjoy pastels, but for Paulina I wanted it to pop and be bright and cheerful and festive I guess is a good word.

Great blog hop over at Pretty Pink Posh, so please be sure to go over there and hop along and then even add your own masterpieces (not that I call mine that lol)

The Friday Mashup! Challenge #212: let's ombre

The Friday Mashup! Challenge #212: let's ombre.

I just got the new Distress colour: twisted citron, and I just had to use it.
Although I have a similar if not the same colour in my Talens Ecoline stash...

I've used it straight out the re-inker bottle and washed the 140lbs pound hot pressed smooth water colour paper from Schut.
wow that's a mouth full...anyway splattered some undiluted ink near the bottom left corner.
Used the Simon Says Stamp feathers for the foiling and some metallic floss.
used StazOn on the vellum, tried to make that ombre too by applying less pressure on the left, not sure if that worked or if it just looks like I messed up the stamping...the sentiment is also from Simon Says stamp (birthday balloons set).

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: make it masculine

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: make it masculine with Cas-ual Fridays and Waffle Flower products.
I have non of the above, so sorry.

This is my entry. I've used watercolor paper, white embossing powder and the stars from the SSS birthday balloon set and the sentiment is from Sizzix.

At first I stamped loads of star clusters around the sentiment. I'd used sprakly clear embossing powder, but somehow the water color got underneath, Not quite sure how or why.
So i tried my hot pressed smooth water color paper, but on that one the sentiment was worse (on all cards I used the same white embossing powder for the sentiment and glittery stuff for the stars on card 2 and 3). I was so torn cos I really love the water coloring, but man that embossing....

Well anyway...

Lawnscaping Challenge #107: calling all critters!

Lawnscaping Challenge #107: calling all critters!

I've used the critters from the gleeful garden set.
I've die cut squares and stamped a part sentiment of the same stampset by Lawn Fawn.

I was trying new color combinations out yesterday , so yay me had a whole stash of critters and flowers and fungi to get going ;-)
The back of the windows is sponged with Distress inks and I've also sponged a yellow border so to frame the raised panel.
the images are all adhered on different levels, peeking out their frame and off the cardbase, i think it's adorable.

Virginia's View Challenge #15: ombre & monochromatic

Virginia's View Challenge #15: ombre & monochromatic.

I've used the Simon Says Stamp Waves stencil first and sponged an ombre effect from left to righ, but also from top to bottom, which is harder to see in the photo, but it's there ;-)
then I used black ink and the Penny black stampset Trims to add to the background.
I was in doubt at first, told myself I can always redo the background, but now I think it adds depth to this funky retro wallpaper background..groove out! lol

Then I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says stamp birthday balloons, onto a strip of vellum, also in real life the tiny birthday is darker and more prominent, I've tried to photograph it differently, but it just won't show up...sorry
