Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesdays Challenge: refreshment
Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesdays Challenge: something that shows refreshment.
I chose to use the Lili of the Valley stamp called blowing bubbles, but I masked off the bubbles so I could draw in some droplets as if the cute little elephant is showering itself.
You know like they do for real when they're in need of cooling down or refreshment.
Colored the lot with Distress inks and I used Alleene's paper glaze for the droplets. (it's like glossy accents).
No sentiment as, frankly, I didn't want to detract from the coloring and now it's good for more occasions ;-)

Freshly made sketches challenge #192
I must be crazy as this is my 3rd Christmas/winter card this week and I'm just so happy summer has finally started...anyway...
I've diecut 3 snowflakes out of thick white cardstock.
3 because one was too small and things look better in 3 ;-)
the sentiment is from Avery Elle let it snow stampset.
the dies from Marianne design creatables.
Mounted the front panel with some foam tape to a shimmery blue sheet, not glitter, but shimmery non the less, pretty...slightly offset it from the middle because I like how it evens out the balance.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes with SSS exclusives
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes with SSS exclusives.
I;ve used the SSS Stencil circle dots
as "stamp"for the background.
I inked it with Distress inks( picked raspberry, twisted citron and squeezed lemon) and then sprayed it with water and lifted a print onto watercolor paper.
I've used the sentiment from SSS Birthday Balloons,
which is already a semi circle and dotted it around the circles.
Mounted the watercolor panel with SSS foam tape
Was tempted to add some sparkles or sequins, but I think the background is quite busy as is.
Also made a panel first with the little pig and ballon from SSS baby party animals, but i really didn't want to cover this, in my humble opinion, gorgeous panel ;-)
Also I first used the stencil the "proper" way, didn't like it either, i'm so fussy lol...
I have my eye on this new die for my next order the SSS birthday circle die, it would have been perfect I think for this card in a contrasting color...

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: stamp and mist
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: stamp and mist.
I've used a stamp from Stampendous (changito in space). Colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers, sentiment on the banner is also from that stampset.
Now for the background, which I obviously spent the most time on... It's supposed to look like a nebula of some sorts.
I googled pink nebulas, you know cos pinks and purples are my favourite colors.
I've used a variety of watercolors mostly Talens ecoline but the green bits are Distress spray stain (it's that fabulous new twisted citron),so are the white and silvery specks (picket fence and brushed pewter)
If I had more sprays I could have done the whole background, but alas....
It's on 300grams (140lbs) hot pressed smooth watercolor paper from Schut.
This is actually my second take the other is on the back of this piece..messed that up...lol.

Happy birthday fish
I've been doing a lot of stencilling this week for various challenges, and now I've even combined 4 challenges!
Wow, because I usually don't, but am running out of inspiration and time a bit too fast this week, so my apologies...
The themes are :
paste and or stencilling for AAA cards,
SPLASH for Addicted to CAS
One layer challenge #62 CAS on Sunday
and
Wild for Inkspirational, I mean a fish is a wild animal, right?
I've used two stencils from Simon Says stamp (waves and falling snow upside down to make rising bubbles).
The bubbles are also covered with texture paste and some blue glitter mixed in the paste.
The fish jumping out of the water and splashing the bubbles to wish you a happy birthday, a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp (happy 3x4) the fish is from Ranger Dylusions set clearly under the sea, which I coloured in contrasting colour to the blue sea to make him pop.
wow i impressed myself with these 4 in one challenges ;-)
hope you like my creation.

The Friday Mashup Challenge #214 Stencil this!
The Friday Mashup Challenge #214 Stencil this!
Ok so Summer starts tomorrow and this is the second Christmas/winter card i've made today!...I guess it's because I had some of the supplies out and I really like the blue tones for a frosty look.
I used the Dutch Doo Ba Doo stencil as a stamp, meaning you slather the stencil in dye ink (Distress in my case) then spray it with water until soaking.
you remove it from the spot it was otherwise you'll pick up the water and maybe colour in the "holes" bits of the stencil too.
I laid a piece of watercolour on top and let the dye soak in for a good 30 seconds I think.
wherever the holes there should be a crisp white image.
the sentiment is from Avery Elle (let is now) and the snowflake die is from Marianne Design.
For more information on the Friday Mashup Challenge, see this
I first made a different version, but that wasn't monochromatic and I wanted to mash things up ;-)
I've sponged the Distress inks (inlcuding the new twisted citron, fast becoming a favourite) and then mixed translucent embossing paste with iridescerent glitter, hope you cans ee the shimmer in the photo, i'll keep this for another card ;-)
