Inlaid diecuts Hello baby card with video

The theme over at AAA cards challenge is: inlaid diecuts.

So for my card I used Lawn Fawn dies from Finley ABC.
Measured the middle and as there's only one L I passed first Hel and then lo through the diecutting machine.

I colored the negatives ( you could use colored card, but I don't have all the colors of the rainbow), so I used my Spectrum Noir markers and gave the letter a happy and cheery look.
If the couple are lesbians, even better ;-) as the rainbow is their colors, lol, but I was more going for the happy colors and incase you don't know the gender yet.

The baby stamp is from Simon Says Stamp Happy 3x4 and I stamped it in Versafine black onyx.
I put a lot of adhesive on the cardbase and panel and adhered the diecut panel, then piecex the letters back in and finished it all with some home made enamel dots I adhered with (homemade) gluedots.

I do have Hello word dies (one or two or three, but I wanted a more crisp look).

thank you for your friendship

or in Dutch "bedankt voor je vriendschap".
The theme over at Less is More this week , is sea and one layer.
The stamps from Kars prompted this scene, the little girl's dress was torn and I though her "friend" the goose could be doing that...some friend! I'm not sure why there are two geese in this beachy stamspet, but hey I went with it ;-)
I made a card from Schut hot pressed and smooth watercoloring paper and measured the places to stamp.
I started by placing the stamps on the cardfront, so they'd fit (just) and traced around the goose stamp, then stamped it with StazOn and placed the girl just so it would look like the goose is picking her dress, added the starfish and the sentiment, all in StazOn.
Then watercolored the scene with Distress inks (blueprint sketch, barn door, mustard seed and carved pumpkin, tattered rose, pumice stone, anitgue linen, tea dye and gathered twigs if I remember correctly). Thought about adding more blue for the sea, but that would be less CAS and so I hope my beachy scene still fits the challenge...

Simple one layer card for the Less is More Challenge.

embellished giftbox

The theme over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: flowers with Prima flower flowers.

So again I don't have the packaging of these flowers anymore and I never lable anything, I don't know which brand they are, apart from being paper flowers.

the card was ok, but i'm much more loving the flowers on this little box I made. It contains 3 scented tealights.
the Belly band around it is where all the embellishments are (or should be) glued on, so you can still open the box without destroying it.
I used a scrap bit of vellum to diecut a Simon Says stamp die (petite butterflies), then attached it with hot blue to the belly band and built the decoration up with a metal butterfly I splattered with nailpolish and paper flowers, then a few diy enamel dots.

Stamp layering thank you card

The Wednesday Challenge, over at Simon Says Stamp is: flowers with Prima flower flowers.

I have some paper flowers, but I don;t know the brand, so I used them, but they might not be Prima....sorry! I really should lable things ;-)

Anyway for the card I used Altenew build a rose stampset. I got it free with a magazine (actually I bought the magazine for the stamps_ Not sure if this flower also features in one of their building sets, but also..close enough lol.

I used Ranger dye inks and a few Hero Arts inks.
Yellow flower: lemon twist, buttered popcorn anc cheese puff.
Pink flower: pink gumball, raspberry sorbet and classic cherry.
Orange flower: cheese puff and classic cherry from Ranger and orange soda from Hero arts, which doesn't really show anymore. Not sure if these inks are compatible, never  used them together before.
Leafs: electric lime and lily pad from Ranger and Green HIlls from Hero arts.

The sentiment is also from the set and I stamped it with Versafine black onyx.

Few clear sequins from Darice.
This card is very dimensional  and nly for hand delivery I would think, or you need to make a box for it and mail it as a package....

I only use these kind of flowers for giftboxes and giftbags and alike, so thank you for the challenge to try something else, although I might submit a giftbox too ;-)

Butterfly pendant with Wow melt-it powder

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: emboss it.
I first was thinking, dry, heat, paste embossing, but then took a different turn.

Yesterday I saw the video from Wow on their Youtube channel, making Christmas decorations.

I took that idea and ran with it as fast as I could...to my craft table ;-)

I only had enough Melt-it powder left to do this one pendant, but I ordered more and once it arrives, there will be no stopping me ;-) Shame I didn't see this before mother's day, but my mum's birthday is the 22nd, so....:-)
I need a doggie cookie cutter as she loves dogs.

Anyway I melted the Melt-it powder with  no other embossing powder in it, so clear(ish).
I covered the inside of my metal butterfly cookie cutter with Versamark, so the shape would release, once cooled off.

I melt my powder in aluminium dishes on a hotplate, but it should also work with your heatgun and if you have it a Ranger melting pot. My heatgun doesn't get hot enough and it takes ages and is super noisy, I'm not a patient person in these cases.

So once melted I poured it into the cookie cutter and let it cool.
Meanwhile I looked for solid bold stamps, I think these work best (I haven't tried the outlined ones, but I can see they wouldn't translate well to the shape).

I chose Simon Says Stamp birthday balloons set as it has a few nice small solid stars.
With Versamark I stamped them on the back of the butterfly (it's slippery) and sprinkled on Wow embossing glitter (Florida sunset) and then heatset with my heatgun as you would normally do.

Casting the shape onto a non stick cookie sheet left the imprint of the sheet (bit like linnen) but reheating the shape made it all smooth.

I had a few edges from pouring and I melted those away with my heat gun too.

With a drill bit I made a hole in one of the wings and made a necklace pendant out of it.

So cool!

Born to be real. not perfect

Is a ceramic tile I made for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: home decor.

I don't have Prima flowers, they wouldn't fit aynway, but couldn;t use them if I wanted to ;-)

It's a slab of clay and I used fondant letter cutters to imprint the message.
I've used flower stamps aswell
then used a pretty red glaze and had it baked.

For the heart  one  I sued a really big heartshaped cookie cutter and also fondant stamps for the butterflies and also flower stamps I just pressed into the clay (and then washed).

Poked two holes so I can thread some ribbon or twine through it and hang it somewhere.

Firefighter: you're fabulous!

The theme over at Inkspirational this week is : mint and navy.

I got an address through Postcrossing for a German volunteer firefighter. So I matched them up.
As I have no clue to what the uniforms of firefighters look like in Holland, let alone Germany I just used the colors from the challenge.
I stamped the image from Lili of the valley (little folk-little heroes) with StazOn, same fro the sentiment from Technique Tuesday ( (fabulous by Ali Edwards).
I've used Distress inks to watercolor the image.
I've used Schut hotpressed and smooth watercoloring paper 300grams.

Usually I don't stamp on the inside but the little fire engine from Create a smile (whimsical wheels, just had to feature) and the Thank you is also from Technique tuesday.

Few glossy accents enamel "drops" as if it's actual water spraying ;-)

I touched up the sentiment with a Memento Marker as it didn't stamp well, at first I thought I'd leave it, bit grungy, wish I had now ;-) I can't wait to get a MISTI.
