Treat bag for Halloween and Christmas

 The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is : not a card.

So I made a treatbag.
I made mine Christmassy, but then I also filmed it for my YouTube channel next week with Halloween stamps, ofcourse if you use other kinds of paper it could be for teachers, parties, birthdays, weddings etc.

I don't have the Lawn Fawn die and frankly with my scoreboard I can do more, different sizes and projects.
I made it to fit 2 out one sheet of 12x12 and you need a piece of paper that is 6"x12".
You can make it taller, but 6" is the width of my Big Shot if you want to diecut out the "handles", I used a small rectangle shaped die with rounded corners.

Score on the long side at: 2", 5", 7"and 10" then on the short side at 2"only.
Burnish your scorelines, then cut the bottom and notch them slightly.

I used a hole punch to make 4 holes and  then fed some silver ribbon through it, and tied it together.
You can also just stample the ribbon to the bag and or hot glue the ribbon also.
My hole punch is a little big and the smaller one was too tiny to feed ribbon trhough, maybe bakerstwine would have been better, but hey, you live and learn.

I use hot glue to put  my boxes and treatbags together, it's faster and more secure than tape or liquid glue, but you can

use anything you like ;-)

Everyday Christmas card series #20, Gerda Steiner design digis, with video

For today's card I used a digistamp from Gerda Steiner designs. Little Christmas reindeer. It's a pack of digital stamps. I also printed out the Christmas tree, which is a free digistamp.
On the other sheets there are digis from DigiStamp boutique, and I made little scenes with the tree borders, the GSD mummy cat and the little gnomes, those are all separate images.

But I'm using the little Christmas reindeer. Printed it with  my inkjet printer onto the Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.
Bit of shimmer on the ornaments and nose with the Nuvo shimmer pen (clear gloss) and a white gelpen to emphasis the shine even more.

I added the sentiment whilst is was in Photoshop. Matted the panel to centre it all up again and adhered it to the cardbase with taperunner.

challenge 4: make and mail

I made this card for the My Favorite Things (MFT) WCMD (world card making day) challenge #4 and the SimoN Says Stamp wcmd challenge.

I also made it for a friend, she's going through a tough spot right now, so I pulled out the  friends furrever and the polar bear pals, they both have images where critters are hugging, but I decided on the polar bear pals as they're sitting down and I wanted them to sit on to of the MFT Hugs die.

I made the card into a shaker card, but diecutting the Hugs from a 140lbs cardpanel, mounted acetate and foamtape and filled the shaker bit with micro diamonds, these are actually pointy, not flat and intended for nail art.

I swiped Distress inks tumbled glass on the cardbase behind the opening for a  wintry northpole iceberg feel.

I stamped the images on Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers, then had the Scan n cut cut them out.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from the same set with Versafine onyx black ink and adhered the second polar bear with tape runner, much like the one on the front.

Die namics design

the second challenge over at My Favorite Things (MFT) wcmd (World card making day) is to use dies only.

I don't have many of the MFT dies, so this took a lot of thinking.
I came up with this fall card using the Safari tree from MFT and I diecut the tree three times, but ended up using just one on the card.
I also die cut the canopy from a piece of watercolored paper with Distress inks on it in fall type colors, although the red went a bit pink, but hey...
I used the MFT snowdrift dies for the hills I cut out of a stripey watercolored look 12x12 sheet, that's from Craft Sensations, I hope that's OK. I thought the stripes could look like fields with produce and the sky is also a piece of paper I cut from a greys blue.

I then cut the MFT Happy wonderful Christmas dies several times out of brown card to make Happy Fall instead I adhered it with liquid glue, was thinking about stacking them, but that would have taken many many passes and well give me a lot of waste, and I didn't want brown letters.

The hill in the front is mounted with foamtape for dimension, the sky and back hill with taperunner and the tree has flat and raised leaf bits.
I wanted to add red enamel dots as if they were appels, but I didn't have any :-(

Everyday Christmas card series #19, with videos

Today I have a two part video.
One is the making and assembly of the card and the other is the middle bit where I color the wonderful reindeer from Pernilla Nilsson.
If you're interested in one or more of her digi stamps. go to her Facebook page and then to albums, there's a free to download one and with the other you just put "buy" under the photo and she will contact you with the payment for Paypal. It's Paypal only I believe, but I think she's wonderful, great digistamps and they're about one dollar each (90Swedish krone).

I made the file with sentiment in a photo editing software. It doesn't come with the text, but while I was there I added it for convenience.

I think the reindeer is more a birthday reindeer with a party hat, maybe a new year's eve one too, but I gave him a Christmassy red and green party hat ;-)

Printed the file with my inkjet printer onto the Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and cut it to a cardzise. I  can fit four card fronts on one sheet, and that's what I did.
My printer is a bit weird with the printing, It's never comes out centered, so I cut it a bit more and filled the gap with a silvery glitter washi tape, much like I do with my watercolor panels.

I never used this Talens masking fluid on anything else but watercolor paper, that's what masking fluid is intended for and well it was a bit nerve wrecking, but it worked. I used my silicon nail art brushes to apply the masking fluid. I  have a video on that too, no more messed up paint brushes ;-)

The masking fluid did react a bit with the inkjet inkt, but nothing too serious. I also left a couple of "leaks" so you can see some Distress inking on Rudolph, but again nothing serious.

For the inkblending behind him I used Distress inks Mermaid Lagoon and Mowed lawn. I wanted just a halo of sky around him, but gave him terra firma to stand on ;-).
I then splattered Dylusions white linen and Distress spray stain Brushed pewter before removing the masking fluid.

I colored the reindeer in a separate video as otherwise it would have been a very long vid. I used mainly my Spectrum Illustrators but also a few Noirs as they were with in reach hehe.
The masking fluid did alter the surface a little and blending was different, but not bad at all.
After coloring I applied Nuvo shimmer pen (clear gloss) on the party hat and on his nose and then Ranger glossy accents on his nose and heart and let it dry.

Then mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered him to the cardbase.

rainbows, unicorns and glitter

Happy World cardmaking day 2017.
MFT (my Favorite Things) is holding a trio of challenges and the first one is/was rainbows.

So for my card I applied a rainbow in Talens ecoline (a fluid watercolor), a really vibrant watercolor. I wetted the watercolorpaper first, which made the colors run and blend ( a little too much) but I like it.
Let it dry and then Spritzed it with Shimmer spritz (sparkle), can you see the speckles?
I stamped the image from magical unicorns on Crafter's companion Neenah paper and colored him with Spectrum Noir markers and then cut him out with the Scan N Cut. Also spritzed him with the shimmer spritz :-D

My watercolor panels are always slightly narrower than the cardbase and although I could chop the cardbase, I prefer to fill the gap with a  fun washi tape.

I Stamped the sentiment with Versafine onyx blackink.
Mounted the rainbow panel with foam tape and adhered it to the cardbase, then mounted the unicorn with foam tape as well and mounted him on the rainbow.

Let it snow

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: a walk on the dark side showcasing Tim Holtz products.
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Christmas showcasing Penny Black.

Last week I used the Penny Black just a note as a Christmas card, this week I'm using the Penny Black  Merry Delight.

I stamped the snowman from with SSS intense black ink onto Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and colored him with Spectrum Noir markers. Then cut him out as my partial diecutting went totally wrong ;-)....sst do not tell anyone.

So instead I diecut just a circle from a

cardpanel that is slightly smaller than my cardbase.
Traced the circle on the cardbase, drew a few snowflakes, but they could be stars too with a Versamarker and then applied Wow! glow in the dark embossing powder and heat set it.

For my night sky I applied Distress inks with a mini blending tool, I've used black soot, chipped sapphire and faded jeans.
That would be my dark bit.
I stamped the sentiment from the same Penny Black set with Versafine onyx black ink and heat set it too.

Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it ont he cardbase. Don't know if you can see it, but I didn't centre the

panel,instead I tucked into the right bottom corner.
I thought that would be a little different than usual.
Also mounted some foamtape on the snowman where he overhangs the circle and taperunner on the other bit and adhered him to the card.

It was really hard to get a photo of the glow in the dark bit, but I managed a crappy one ;-)
