AAA Cards Challenge #119: Christmas in July
This fortnight the challenge is: Christmas in July. This theme was chosen by our DT member Ceal.
Our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers and you could win a $20 gift certificate.
For my card I stamped the stag in Versafine onyx black ink and heat set it. It was a Christmas stamp from Craft Sensations two years ago, but any similar one will work of course. I just love him, he looks like wood.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts (classic Christmas borders) and I also stamped it with Versafine onyx black ink.
I then used circles of rubberstamps scraps I cut and mounted on a block with tape runner.

I have a video of a similar card, if you're curious.
For the dots I used Memento dew drops in three colors (summer sky, teal zeal, nautical blue).
I added the a few enamel dots and or rhinestones, to reinforce the circle look.

Direct to stamp technique
The Less is More Challenge this fortnight is: olive and tangerine.
For my card I used the Penny Black delicate florals and watercolor markers. I colored on the rubber stamp with the brushnibs and then spritzed the stamp with water and stamped it onto watercolor paper.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (it's not secret) and I stamped it with Versafine Onyx black ink.
Attached the watercolor panel with taperunner to a carbase.
Orange and green are not my favorite colors, but I think it's pretty.

Challenge, see this.

Craftin Desert divas July release- unicorn
I have used the digi image called Unicorn ice cream. I printed him on marker paper and colored him with my alcohol markers, then cut him out.
I made a panel with the sentiment on the computer and printed it out, my printer takes up to 125lbs or there abouts, so it makes for nice sturdy panels, but you can always add more foamtape to support the panel. Then I diecut a circle from the panel and trimmed it down to give me a little mat.
I traced the circle onto the cardbase and inkblended Distress inks directly onto the cardbase.
Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase. Mounted the Unicorn Ice cream on with Nuvo Deluxe glue on the left and foamtape on the right side, to make it flush with the panel.
I always think of rainbows when it comes to unicorns, and you?...
Hope you like them.

Craftin Desert Divas July digi release - Piggy icecream
For my card today I have used the digi image called
Pig ice cream. I printed him on marker paper and colored him with my alcohol
markers, then cut him out.
I made a panel with the sentiment on the computer and
printed it out, my printer takes up to 125lbs or there abouts, so it makes for
nice sturdy panels, but you can always add more foamtape to support the panel.
Then I diecut a circle from the panel
and trimmed it down to give me a little mat.
I traced the circle onto the cardbase and inkblended
Distress Oxides Squeezed Lemonade and
Cracked Pistachio directly onto the cardbase.
Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the
cardbase. Mounted the Pig Ice cream on an angle with foamtape on the top, to
make it flush with the panel. The bits that were flush I attached with Nuvo
deluxe glue
I wanted a bright and summery card, and contrasting
colors, so they make each other pop.

Distress oxides:

Craftin Desert Diva Designer creative challenge: Birthday card stash
I printed it on marker paper and cut it out. I put them
all on the sheet, but decided this one was the cutest. I colored him with
alcohol markers.
For the background i Inkblended Distress Oxides on the
cardbase (Blueprint Sketch and Mermaid Lagoon) then splattered water and to
make it sparkly I used the Sheer Shimmer Spritz (sparkle) all over, so a bit of
shimmer would peek out my panel.
The sentiment is from the same set and I printed it on
normal card and cut it to size.
Then I diecut the Scribble Snowflake but make sure all
the bits stayed inside or placed them back. I wanted the opening, otherwise I
could have embossed it, but now I just put sticky tape on the back of the panel
to keep all the bits together. I appreciate it’s a snowflake, but in this
context I think it might look like stars or sparkles in a lasergun fight?…
I mounted the panel with foamtape and tucked the critter
inside and outside, mounting it with foam to compensate the height
difference or adhering it Nuvo Deluxe
with liquid glue where it sits flush with the panel.

I believe in you
Today I made an encouragement card, with the Karin Joan Encouraged set KJ1724. I stamped the leaves from Karin Joan Folia (KJ1723) with Memento inks onto Crafter's Companion Neenah paper, I've used Bamboo leaves, Cottage ivy and Pistachio. On the same sheet I also stamped the giraffes from Eline's animals ( Marianne Design EC0169) with My Favorite Things Hybrid black ink and Espresso truffle for the sorts, Had my Scan N Cut so it's thing and then colored the giraffes with Spectrum Illustrator markers.
I cut a circle from some scrap paper and from the card front, aligned the scrap as a mask and inblended Distress Oxide Pistachio in the circle, the I used an array of Spray paints to splatter the circle, I thought it would give the feel of a canopy in the distance.
I arranged the leaves and then decided the sentiment needed to go in the left corner, I thought it would balance things out, but as I used this particular giraffe, I put most of the leaves in the same corner, so I;m not sure it's well balanced in the end. I either used liquid glue, one or two layers of foamtape to put the leaves around the window. Then I used the basic shapes stencil to trace the circle, making it more interrupted than it actually is, because I felt like it ;-).
