I heard you're not feline well....

The Less is More Challenge, this fortnight is: pets, and being a cat mom I had to use a cat, of course.

I printed this digi "hope your feline better soon" from Craftin Desert Divas on the Crafter's Companion marker paper and cut it  out then colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.
Added some Nuvo Shimmer pen on the fish.

On the cardbase I inkblended Distress inks (Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed) to ground the image and tie in with the orange fish.

The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Divas also (Animal antics) And I stamped it with Versafine Onyx black ink.

Happy Summer birthday

For my card today I used the new flamingo and palm tree die set from Marianne Design. I diecut them all from colored cardstock and assembled them with liquid glue.

I then stamped the foliage from Folia and the Hibiscus flower from  Summer with Memento inks and cut them out by hand this time.

For my scene I had to cut a full sheet to 15cm, so folded it would give me appr. measuring 15x15cm. I covered the white with blue card, for my sea. then I ripped craft and white to make the sand and sea foam.
For the island I diecut a circle and then cut the circle in half and added more seafoam.
the sentiment is from Summer also and I stamped it with versamark ink and then heat embossed it in white embossing powder.
I thought it need to be brighter than my usual black ink, and the white just pops.
I adhered all the bits with either glue or foamtape., then I stamped the starfish and shell with memento inks when I knew where there would be space, these are also from the Summer set.

Elves and flowers, with video

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Make a background, showcasing Concord and 9th.

I don't have a Concord and 9th background stamp.
So for my card I sued SimoN Says Stamp Heart breeze die and the sentiment from SSS Secret Garden, together with the new Joy Crafts! Elves and flowers.

I stamped her on the Crafter's Companion Marker paper, with Versafine Onyx black ink.
Colored her with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.
For the background, which is very minimal I suppose, but I inkblended Distress inks on the cardbase, so a rainbow of hearts would be the "Happy" she's sprinkling whilst fluttering along. I thought the Heart breeeze could be the trail she leaves behind, like they do with bee stamps sometimes..you know those dotted lines? Well like that, but different haha.

I've used Candied apple, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn,Mermaid lagoon, Wilted violet.

I attached the diecut panel with taperunner, but foam could also work. MOunted the little Elf with foamtape.

Cold noses, warm hearts

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Wild things.
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Anything goes, showcasing Art Impressions.

For my card I used the Art Impressions Set called Christmas cheer. I stamped it with SSS Intense black ink onto watercolor card and colored it with Talen Ecoline, a fluid watercolor that SSS now carries. Not sure how wild (polar) bears are if they have clothes on and can operate a sled...but let's not go there ;-)

The sentiment is from the same set. I made a snowy hill with glitter paper, it was a yellowish white and well yellow snow,is a no no, so I used a bit of blue Distress ink left on the inkblender to tint it and adhered it to the card.

diy glitter rulers, with video

I was at the supermarket last week and saw a fabulous glittered ruler, with teal paper (bottom one). I have really cheap rulers from Wibra and at 50cent each I thought I should try and pimp them up.

My rulers have a dip in the centre, so perfect to fill with things.
I've used black glitter card on one, like the one I bought, and the others are made with loose glitter...very messy, but so cool.
In the video I didn't but I made more and I used painters tape to protect the rulers outside the dip...not sure why I didn't think of it from the start, except that I thought I would be more precise.
For my glue I used Creapodge ( a kind of Modge podge) and Glossy Accents. I prefer the Glossy accents to the Creapodge, but you might have better glues. I don't think Multi Medium  Matte is a good idea if you want shiny glitter, cos it will matte them down.

The process is simple, I  made a dam on each side, so the glue wouldn't run off and then filled the dip with the liquid glue and sprinkled glitter on top, pressing it in, then letting it dry over night. And to be sure I added a top coat of Creapodge to seal in all the glitter after I brushed off every bit that was loose. But the glitter that stuck was stuck pretty well, I don;t think you really need a topcoat, except with the paper centre, to protect it.

Craftin Desert Diva creative challenge: designing with dies

Today’s card  is for the creative challenge (designing with dies/ svgs).
For my card I used the Over the Moon digi stampset and printed her out on marker friendly paper and colored her with alcohol markers. Then cut her and with a white gelpen I gave her a sparkle in her eyes and on the bell a bit of  a shine.
Then I inkblended the background with Distress Oxides and one Versamagic.  I didn’t like the dark at the top, so I printed Sorry on a cardpanel and cut a strip. Mounted that with foamtape at the top. I felt I need sorry to go with my sentiment from Animal Antics, so that worked out nicely.
I diecut the grass from the Outdoor Landscape 2 from a lime green card, the picket fence from white (what else?) and the corn from Harvest border dies set from dark green card, twice.
I then stamped the sentiment with Versafine onyx black ink and to make my scene I adhered the fence to the grass and the corn to the fence with Nuvo Deluxe glue, then  mounted the bottom with foamtape and adhered it to the card.
I adhered the cow with the same Nuvo Deluxe glue.

Materials I’ve used:

Craftin Desert Divas:

Inks:
Versamagic: Seabreeze

Adhesives:

Other:
Spectrum Noir markers
Crafter’s Companion Neenah paper

Christmas in July

made it...just...
For today's card I used metallic red holographic card and I diecut the word Christmas from it.
I started with a different idea, I wanted to stack a few colors, but the curly bits in the sentiment kind of halted that idea ;-)
After diecutting, I fitted the stamp inside the openings and used my Stamper's friend to stamp it with Versafine Onyx black ink, a few times to get a nice black print.
I thought the shiney card was enough "bells and whistles" and wanted a stark contrast.
I stamped directly on the cardbase.
Then added liquid glue to the red panel and adhered it on top.
The red panel I made bigger than the cardbase, so I would have "wiggle" room. Fitting it around the sentiment was the most important thing, the bits that  hung over the edge I just cut off.
I stamped the "wishes" from the same set with Versamark onto black card and heat embossed it with Papermania superfine silver powder and mounted it with foamtape.

I have used Marianne Designs Karin Joan set KJ1719. It comes with the shadow die, so it's slightly bigger than the stamp and that works perfectly for this technique.
