AAA Cards Challenge #125: Inspired by a TV Show

This fortnight The AAA Cards Challenge is all about TV shows, chosen by our DT member Cheryl.
Our sponsor is STAMPlorations.

For my card I used the Kindred Stamps set called Happy Accidents, and it's obviously based on Bob Ross. I loved watching Bob Ross when young. What he made wasn't really my cup of tea, but HOW he did it, was genius...zoof zoof and there's a tree or mountain or lake, little cabin...

I stamped Bob with My Favorite things hybrid black ink and colored him with my Spectrum Noir and Illustrator markers, cut him out.

I diecut a stitched square from a panel, so it
looks like a canvas Bob might be painting.
Stamped the sentiment from the same set  with Versafine Onyx black ink.

Traced the window or canvas onto the cardbase and applied Mermaid Lagoon Distress oxyde ink and Versamagic inks: Aspen Mist, Oasis Green and Hint of Pesto.
Splattered the inblending with a water and bleach solution.

Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the card base. Used tape runner to adhere Bob.

Hey Hey Little Monkey...

I made this card for the Less is More Challenge and the September challenger for Gerda Steiner Designs.

The image is a Gerda Steiner digi (hang in there) and I thought it would fit the card that is to be CAS-ed from Less is More albeit flipped to the other side...As a digi I could have flipped it in Photoshop, but I didn't feel the need, added the sentiment whilst I was there and printed it onto Marker friendly paper, then colored it with my alcohol markers, in this case Copics, Illustrators and Noirs, the whole lot...I made the leaves look like it's Autumn with red and oranges and such. Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

National coffee day with Craftin Desert Divas digis

I made two card for the Nation Coffee day. On October 1st it is international coffee day.
One with the Coffee Fairy and one with the spooky mocha.

For the first card I used the Coffee Fairy digital stamp, printed her out on marker paper and colored her with alcohol markers, then cut it out using my plotter.
For the background I tried to make a soft focus autumnal forest with watercolors on a watercolor panel. I used fall type colors and dabbed them on randomly, sprayed more water to mave the colors, added some more until I was happy with it.

I diecut a grass border from the Outdoor landscapes 2 set. Glued the watercolor panel to a cardbase, glued the Fairy on top. I love Nuvo deluxe glue for this, perfect stay. Mounted the grass border with foamtape and adhered it on top
.

The spooky mocha card is a little different. I printed the digi on a panel of marker friendly paper. I used Illustrator markers for this and I found out they do not like big expanses. The smoothblend you get with the Noirs or small items with the illustrator is not there, but I rolled with it anyway.

The "body"of the bat is glittery embossing powder I applied by using the Versamarker to "wet" the area. I had to dip the tip of the marker in the actual inkpad, I think it's running on empty but it worked fine. I chose Halloween like colors for the  image and the sentiment is included in the stampset.

Alcohol lift ink background -Aurora Borealis with alcohol inks

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: anything goes, showcasing Hero Arts products.

I used the Hero Arts Tiny Stars background stamp for my sky.

First I stamped and cut the row of houses from Lawn Fawn (simply celebrate winter) with My Favorite Things Hybrid ink onto Marker paper and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. I let the Scan n Cut do the cutting.
Stamped the sentiment from the same set with Versafine onyx black ink onto a panel and cut strips from it, for the bottom and top of my card.
for the Aurora Borealis (northern Lights) kinda back drop I've use Adirondack alcohol inks (purple twilight, botanical, indigo and mermaid) on Yupo paper.
First I sprayed the paper with rubbing alcohol and then dropped the inks onto it, sprayed it again and tilted the paper until I was happy with the coverage, adding a few more drops of certain colors. Heat set it slightly and carefully as it's plastic not actual paper and it might curl as it melts... then I inked up the Hero Arts Tiny Stars with Alcohol lift ink and stamped it on the background, then stamped the lifted bit onto an empty sheet of Yupo, it worked, but I'm not sure I like it  on the white.
Dabbed off extra ink from the background and then rubbed the background to reveal the starts. The show up better in the darker  bits, but there's a faint starry sky.

Measured how big my panel has to be to fit in between the two white strips, cut it to size and mounted it on the cardbase with strong red tape.mounted the strips and the  row of houses with foamtape and adhered them on top.

gift tags on cards- kadokaartjes op een kaart

Today I have two cards to show you.
They are almost the same, same supplies, just different parts of the stampsets or diesets and different colors.

I started by diecutting the tags (Col1442) from kraft card, then the stage from the same set  out of black card.
Then I diecut all the leaf shapes and stamped them after. Tried it the other way, but my dies kept shifting. I used two colors of Memento inks for each leaf or twig and for the sentiments.

The sentiments are from KJ1718, the leafs are KJ1715.

I wound some string around the tags, adhered the stags and the leaves. Then I glued on googly eyes, one first as the stag is looking sideways, but that looked weird.

I placed the tag so I knew where to stamp the sentiments.
Then I mounted the tags with foamtape and placed them on the cardbase, tucked in some more foliage underneath. I made sure the red berries and the red twine went on the card with the red sentiment en the same for the green.

I think you can still used them on a gift, or just as a card, maybe even a giftcard tucked inside.

Memento inks

Craftin Desert Divas: Happily handmade a Halloween treatbag

This is week tow of release weeks from Craftin Desert Divas (CDD)

For my project I made a little treatbag.
CDD sells a treat bag die, but I don't have it, so I used my scoringboard.
And it's really simple.
You need a piece of card 6x12inches.
You score on the short side at 2" only.

then you score on the long side at 2", 5" 7"and 10" from top to bottom
You partially score at 1,6 and 11inches to make the fold line.

cut and notch flaps and stick it together. I like to use hot glue, but score tape or liguid glue, a strong one like the Nuvo deluxe glue will also work, you just have to hold it till the glue grips.

This is totally optional and you don't need to do this to make a cute little treatbag, but since I have the Harvest border dies from CDD, I diecut them from the top. Cut loose the bits on the ends and where they overlap I cut one row of pumpkins. Be careful as they're very delicate.

Then I fold the  box shut and glue all the sides and bottom flaps shut.
For the handle I used orange ribbon as I thought purple and orange are nice and Halloween like.

For the image I sued the new digi from CDD: Frankenstein cake. I have colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.

Adhered it with the Nuvo glue to the bag.
For the sentiment on the back I just printed it onto 80lbs card from Word.

The haunted house is diecut from black card. It's also from the Harvest border dies, I cut it to fit as it's much longer.

Fille dit with chocolates. Sadly no candy corn as it's near impossible  to get in the Netherlands, or crazy expensive...I went for wrapped chocolates.

Craftin Desert Divas Sneak peek week: Frankenstein cake 18-312

Today I'm sharing another cake card.
This time it's the Craftin Desert Divas (CDD) Frankenstein cake digi.
I printed it onto marker friendly paper and colored it with my alcohol markers, then cut it out.

I let the Scan N Cut make a rounded triangle window in black cardstock, as if it's candy corn.
Then I divided the area into 3 strips and inblended Distress oxides inks on the cardbase.

I mounted the black panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.
I used both foamtape and Nuvo glue for the Frankenstein cake, so it  would be supported where the window is.

I have no sentiment, as I don't know how to add it to black except with a strip of white card and I didn't want to ruin the spooky look. Also no Halloween stamps so I could white emboss it onto the panel, that would be my suggestion.

I will just write Happy Birthday on the inside ;-)
