For my card I've used the Your Next Stamp set called Silly Rockmonsters YNS468
I stamped them with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and cut them out, then colored them with my markers.
For the background I've used Distress Oxides and masked off triangles as if they were spotlights for the band.

I've then added some white gel pen on the edges of the "stage" so the singer doesn't fall off ;-).

The sentiment is from the same set and I've stamped it with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with Wow! clear matt dull embossing powder. You can ofcourse do white, but I thought it would be too stark a cantrast, or silver, but I  rather fancied this matt version, you can see it and it's subtle enough for a guy.
Mounted the guitarist and singer on foamtape and adhered the drummer directly to the cardbase.
I also added some punched out music notes from glittery paper.

Oxides:

Black soot

For the second card I used the keyboard player monster that was left over...ahhh..
I used the same sentiment, as I still had it in my Stampingtool, handy. I stamped it with Versafine onyx black ink.
Heat set it to be sure.
Then I masked of an area  to inkblend DIstress inks on, I've used a finger dauber to get circular dots, that already helps with the Bokeh effct.
I've picked a lot of the bright colors: picked raspberry, wilted violet, mermaid lagoon, twisted citron, mowed lawn, candied apple and spiced marmalade. But any that take your fancy will do. I just like the bright ones, esp if my little monster is at a concert.
Then I applied Lawn Fawn Yeti ink through a stencil, I made it with cardstock and circle nesting dies, but I also pulled out other circular stencils I have,  like the Simon Says Stamp Dotted circles. For bokeh it's important the smallest dots are the brightest or whitest and the bigger ones , more subtle, it makes them fall to the background.
You can layer the Yeti ink if needed, just heat set in between.
I colored my  keyboard player with Illustrator markers and mounted him with foamtape. he ended up in a different spot than intended, if you want to know why, watch the video ;-).

Craftin Desert Divas December release card 3

This Craftin Desert Divas December release is full of sweet and wonderful characters, this is #10, the pie is #9.

For my card I scaled the image to pit and placed the pie in the sky as I later added a kind of counter.

I also added the sentiment included in the digi set on the counter, as if the name of the bakery shop, at least that was what I was thinking.

Colored the panel with alcohol markers and adhered it to the cardbase with scortape.

I was debating wether to add a colored wallpaper as well, but I decided against it, I thought it might detract frrom the main image, this cute little hedgehog baking cookies.
They're heartshaped, so they could well be used for a number of occasions like  Christmas cookies, Valentine's day, a birthday, I think it's very versatile.

Warm winter Wishes

That is the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog.

For my card I've used the Craftin Desert Divas Surfin Santa and I made the sentiment in Photoshop. Printed it on the Crafter's Companion Marker paper and colored the image with my alcohol markers.
I've free handed the wave and added white gel pen for the froth.
Added the panel on the card base with tape runner.

Merry Christmas everyone!
I thought the surfing Santa is fun for those who live in warm areas, and or in Australia and  alike, where it's actually Summer when it's Christmas.

I've used a cling stamp and a sentiment die and have linked everything down below.

For my card I wanted to use Talens Ecoline, but after coloring the two bells, my battery died, so whilst that was charging I went to the SSS webshop to link everything and found they no longer carry them, so I switched to Distress Spray Stains and they work the same.

I stamped the festive bells onto cold pressed watercolor paper with Versamark ink and heat embossed  with the Wow black twinkle powder. Not so much to contain the coloring, but to tie in the design and as it's Christmas a bit of glitter never goes wasted.
To make my own glitter paper, I covered a piece of card with Versamark ink and sprinkled on the powder, then heat set it.

For added shimmer , I've used gold Shimmer Spritz to all my colors, this will change the drying quality of the inks, so be careful. I like how the foliage and the blue mixed a little, it gives a softer effect of more greenery in the background, but it's personal.

I cut the circle out with a die, and I happened to have one that exactly fitted around the outer edge, I could feel it popping into place. Where needed I've  touched up the sides. Mounted the  panel with foamtape.

In my video last week I've shown you this blue panel as well, I sprinkled it with silver and white Acrylic paints, and as I had two, I've used the second one as my backdrop.
Wrapped around a silver ribbon and attached it to the cardbase.

50dollar_voucher_600px For the sentiment , I added some double sided adhesive on the back of the card, making it easier to put it on the cardbase. I didn't plan on using th eblue blackdrop, so it might have been a bit too dark, this black twinkle, but I  highlighted the words with a white Sharpie.

Ecoline: no longer available at SSS, but Distress spray stains will work almost the same
