AAA Cards Challenge #141: it's our 5th birthday bash, with video

This fortnight we celebrate our 5th birthday and our theme for our cards is, ofcourse, birthday.
We have many sponsors and a little treasure hunt for you, so  make sure you visit ever DT blog to collect all your badges.

For my Card I used the  Art Impressions set. loads of fun and the sentiment as well. On the inside of the card I stamped Happy Birthday, incase that wasn't clear from "I see no reason to act your age" .

I colored my image with Polychromos. And I really need a better tool than those paper stumps. I've tried a  brush but that didn't work for me either. I just can't be precise enough with those stumps.

The sentiment on the inside is from Woodware (aged to perfection) and a couple would have been great with this image too, but it would eat into my white space, and we don't want to do that!.

I stamped the image with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink onto Ecoline watercolor printer paper.

Feel better soon

The Less is More Challenge this fortnight is: embossing 1/3 of your card.

For my card I stamped feathers from Aladine (clear plumes) with Versamark ink and embossed them with Wow white pearl embossing powder. I used cold pressed watercolor paper and Ecoline inks to color the panel, then cut it to size to fit the 1/3 requirement.

On the cardbase I stamped the sentiment from  CAS-ual Fridays (heartfelt  sayings) with Versafine Clair ink.

Mounted the strip of feathers with foamtape and adhered it on the base.

"masculine" treat box- pinch box, with video and free pattern

I called  it masculine, just because of the colors I grabbed, If you use flowers and pastels it's a girlie version.
It holds two mini snack candy bars (mine are supermarket brand, but are similar to Mars and Snickers). You can put in smaller things like those Celebrations bonbons or sweets or whatever you fancy of course.

For the bag you need a piece of (solid) paper measuring 4"x8"and you can get 4 out of one sheet of 12x12"if you cut it at 8"first.
You need to score on the long side at: 3", 3"3/4,6"3/4 and7"1/2
on the short side at 3/4 of an inch.

For the wrapper you need a  piece of patterned paper measuring 2"x9"
you score on the long side at: 3:3/8, 4"1/4
and 7"5/8

Cut away bits as indicated in video or pattern and glue it all together.

Smarties

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is a mood board and on it are Smarties. I've always loved the purple in the mix, such a pretty color.

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is to use a stencil.
For my card I  made a stencil of all those dots or Smarties with circle dies.
Then masked them off one by one and applied Distress Oxide inks (Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Mermaid lagoon)
I shaded them a little, like the Mermaid lagoon with Chipped Sapphire and the Twisted citron with Mowed Lawn, but  I don't have all the 60 colors, so done where I can ;-)

Then I grabbed the Concord & 9th Butterfly Beauty to stamp the solid Butterflies with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

The sentiment is from Carlijn Design (gefeliciteerd) and I've also Used the Nocturne ink.
The added a few enamel dots.

I'm a lamp

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Stitches, showcasing Art Impressions.

For my Card I used an alcohol ink background I made earlier with Ranger alcohol inks.
To show it I used a Stitched circle die and made a window in a cardpanel.

On the cardpanel I stamped the sentiment from Art Impressions (catastrophe set).
I've used Versafine Clair ink.
For the cat I'veI've used the same set, but on the Crafter's Companion Neenah paper  with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and cut them out. I've used my Scan N Cut for the speech bubble as I think that's the funnest sentiment with that stamp. Colored the cat with Spectrum Noir triblend markers.

Then I mounted the cardpanel with foamtape and also the cat where needed.

I thought of this set because a cat with a collar is usually to keep them off stitches, but there was no sentiment with stitches, but yeah, you get the idea ;-)

Rainbow beers= Happy hour

Well I thought so, I was given a sample of Grapefruit beer last week, and I've seen raspberry and other flavours, so I thought there could be a rainbow of beers out there. I do not drink the stuff, so I don't care ha ha.

I've used the Fast food die set from Yvonne Creations' Big Guys series. There's also a hamburger in there, perfect for the 4th of July? I die cut the glasses from acetate to make it look more like glass, the rest is card stock.

Anyway I made this card for the Simon Says Monday Challenge: Happy Hour.

For the sentiment I've used Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons and I stamped it with Versafine Clair ink.

I masked off a banner on the card base and applies Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke and splattered it with water for the bubbles in the beer effect, but the glasses kinda cover all of that.

I raised some of the glasses with foam tape and some I just attached with tape runner, so I could tuck the handles on the other beer mugs.

Origami card

I have had this book with Origami cards since the 80's. I think the last time I made a card from it was 1994 as I used to write the dates and names of people getting a particular one, so they wouldn't get doubles. Nowadays you can buy 3d dies, but I don't have any and this one's not too difficult, just takes a but of time and patience.

I made it for the Male Room Challenge: anything goes with the option of origami.
For my card I traced the lines from the pattern onto white card. then cut along the lines and fold them inwards or outwards.

I like this design particularly as it looks like two staircases in different directions, like an Escher painting.

I adhered a piece of dark purple card on the back and stamped the Happy Birthday from Simon Says Stamp It's your birthday set with Versafine Clair ink.
It fold almost flat, so it will go in an envelope.
