The Friday Mashup! Challenge #219: it's all square

The Friday Mashup! Challenge #219: it's all square, with pink, sky and grey.

I made a square frameless vellum shaker card with Joy Crafts! stampset movie tickets 6004/0001. it comes with a coordinating die.
So first I diecut 5 tickets of each pink, grey and blue and then stamped them with Memento Tuxedo black.
The die is solid so I find it easier that way, byt you could stamp first and then diecut if you prefer.

Getting pregnant for some is like winning the lottery and although the stampset is called movie tickets I thought they might be lottery tickets or raffle tickets, I thought it to be fun ;-) Don't know if the recipients will "get it"...

I used the same grey as the background for my shaker pocket.
First opted for black as it would make the tickets pop, but it's not very apprpriate for a baby card I think....Don't know really just a feeling....

It's because I was just playing around with this new stampset on this card:

I did use black here and all the tickets in the stampset on rainbow tickets, you know so it would go for many occasions!

Still prefer the grey on my baby card for this occasion.

If you want to see how I make this shaker card, watch  my video for another similar card.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes with Penny Black

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes with Penny Black.

I've  used the flower head or dandelion or fireworks stamp from the Penny Black stampset Trims.
Multiple stamping to fill the whole background.
Then I sponged on some distress inks in bright colors as if they were flowers and blue for the background/sky.

Covered it in vellum, with the Simon Says Stamp from Birthday Balloons.
White heat embossed it on the vellum.
Wrapped the vellum around the card and glued it to the panel on three sides.
Added loads of sequins and confetti in similar colors to the panel to make a frameless shaker card. then glued the fourth side shut.

Make amazing patterned paper with re-inkers and shavingcream

It's super messy and your hands will be colored for days, but it's also so much fun and so addicting, you'll want to keep going, trust me...have a pile of cut cards at the ready ;-)..

You'll need cardstock, normal or glossy works, use heavy paper because of moist content, I haven't tried watercolor paper, but it migh work also.

Shaving foam, it must be foam or cream not gel. The cheapest is fine, mine smells nice and so do my cards now ;-).
Re-inkers, i've used Distress, but any concentrated pigment will work, I've also done it with Talens ecoline and food coloring.
Lot of paper towels and a scraper, I use a doughscraper, but a card will also work.

In a shallow container, big enough for your cards spray a small layer of shavingfoam and spread it out. Place drops of re-inker across the surface and then using a brush, skewer or alike mix it in the foam.
I prefer staying within one colorfamily but you can go as bold as you want.
lay a piece of card on the foam and press the surface lightly, you do not want to submerse the paper. lift it off and scrape off excess foam. let dry....use it however you see fit.
i've used some of it for the Simon Say Stamp Monday Challenge.

The Friday Mashup! Challenge #218: let's eat

The Friday Mashup! Challenge #218: let's eat.

And color with markers.

I've used a Lili of the Valley Stamp again, much like last week, but this one is Thomas birthday cake.

I love Lili of the Valley stamp esp. the animals, they're the  cutest.

These stamps don't have sentiments though, so I've used Sizzix's birthday by Stephanie Barnard.

Stamped it all with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored it with  my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

On Neenah ultra smooth solar crest white cardstock.
Made the panel slightly smaller than the cardbase and mounted it with foamtape.

btw that plate  in the photo looks yummy ;-)

Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesdays Challenge: diecutting

Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesdays Challenge: diecutting.

I've only used diecuts and some sequins and glue (ofcourse) to put this card together, no stamping.

I've used the Simon Says Stamp dies thanks on a line and my sunshine
and My favorite things die snowdrifts.

Aleene's fast grab tacky glue and Ranger Multi medium matte

rainbow cardstock

foam tape.

I've started  by cutting the waves with a snowdrift die, yes, why not? and the sun and rays and sentiment.
At first I wanted to mount the waves flush against each other so I diecut two sheets at the same time, so the curves would match up.
Then reckoned that would eat up my whole front panel, so layered them instead.
Kept the sky white to make the sun pop more and well it beats grey skies we have here most of the year  ;-)...blue today but that's lucky  lol
I love using Aleene's fast grab glue for sequins and paper alike, it's really thick and won;t warp the paper because of the low water content I guess.
I've used Ranger multi medium matte on the think thanks die because if any seeps out from underneath you won't see it.
I don't like to use multi medium matte on shiny objectes or cardstock, because is you have seepage then you will see the glue and it will render shiny sequins matte aswell.
Prefer gluedots if the sequins are big enough to hide one, if not Aleene's fast grab glue!
mounted the whole front panel( which is slightly smaller) on the cardbase with foam tape.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: sparkle and shine with Pretty Pink Posh

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: sparkle and shine with Pretty Pink Posh.

I've used the image and sentiment from Changito in space by Stampendous.
I've used Ranger's multi medium matte to adhere all those sequins, confetti and alike.

sounds simple...now does it?
it wasn't see my video to see how many times my original idea has changed and progressed into this card, it's fun really ;-)

I haven't labeled my sequins so I'm not sure which, but some are Pretty Pink Posh, sorry...

Lawnscaping challenge #110: color inspired by the rainbow!

Lawnscaping challenge #110: color inspired by the rainbow!

I've used the Lawn Fawn Monster mash for the images and sentiment.

Stamped them with StazOn black ink on water color paper.
At first I used my cheapo paper as it's the most white, but sometimes it tricks you, it pretends to be nice and then starts to wick out color in all directions and not everywhere, just certain spots in the paper.
so I redid it on slightly more creamy paper from Schut, which is also heavy duty 300grams hot pressed watercolor paper...bit fancy really for a small panel on a card, but hey it's worth it ;-)

I also made a rainbow panel for the birthday circle die and diecut it, then glued it on another panel with a circular window. I didn't have the exact same circle size and the sentiment die warped a little and using Aleene's fast grab glue made sticking it precisely a bit tricky, normal glue would give you a longer working time. BUT I forgot that Distress re-inkes would re-activate with the wetness of the glue and I made a bit of a mess on the front crisp white panel...sigh...covered it up with rhinestones...so lol...don't tell anyone ;-)

I've free handed the thought bubble, you can probably tell.. ;-)

I've used Neenah classic crest utlra smooth solar white paper, it's quite the mouthfull but it's the best paper for alcohol markers I've found so far.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: anything goes

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: anything goes.
I've used Ranger Distress re-inkers to do some watercoloring on 300grams smooth  hot pressed watercolor paper from Schut (but any will do) then diecut the butterflies from Joy crafts! from the watercolor paper. the Simon Says Stamp die (small hello) was used on some glitter paper  I made into a sticker. Panel mounted with foam tape. the rhinestones are from a generic shop and the small ones are from my manicure basket...don't tell anyone ;-) I've used Aleene's fast grab tacky glue to stick it all on the front panel.

Less is More challenge #232: one layer masculine

Less is More challenge #232: one layer masculine.

I went  to the craft store to get this ship stamp because today they had 20% off all stamps...I also got one with a lot, and i mean a lot of Christmas sentiments, then I restrained myself from getting another 20 sets or so...lol...there's one Penny Black set I wish I could have gotten but even with the  discount I felt I should wait...I was good :-)

The ship image is from Studio Light (summer at the beach) and the sentiment is from Joy Crafts! (seashore) Stamped them with Stazon. and I've sponged some mermaid lagoon around the ship and splattered  mermaid lagoon spray (both from Distress ink line).
I feel, the sentiment lacks a : ...correct me if I'm wrong, i'm not an English master, but I feel it needs it..so I'm now going to add it in ;-)

Furry kisses

I've made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: furry friends with Newton Nook's stamps,
and the Freshly made Sketches challenge #194

I don;t have any Newton Nook's products, sadly but lots of Furry friends items.
I got this die today without knowing and I had to  put it straight to "work".

Made a top panel slightly smaller than the cardbase and  diecut a square window.
Die cut the little doggy from Marianne design as well as the bones and shawl.
the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps set Furry kisses 3x4
I've sponged some Cracked Pistachio Distress inks onto the cardbase where the window will be and  glues the bones for fun all over.
I've colored the bones and doggy and shawl thingy, collar I don't know ( cat person here lol) with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.
I raised the top panel with foam. Also got a non stick scissors from Scotch today and I love that, no more sticking ot the blades! Titanium anti  adherent it's called.

AAA Cards Challenge #43: starry night

AAA Cards Challenge #43: starry night.

I´ve made an Aurora Borealis or Northern lights water color card.

I´ve used liqud water colors from Talens ecoline for that.
I handdrew the twiggy trees, there´s a stamp that  looks kind of like these trees but I don´t have it.
I used a black Sharpie for the trees and the faux stitching
A white Sharpie to dot in the stars.
Black frame to accentuate the colors and no sentiment to detract from the water coloring ;-) I mean it could be a "thinking of you" or any other card now....

Then I wondered if it was CAS enough, so made another with a  smaller panel, so there's more empty space. I used Distress inks and mini blending sponges for this one. Memory box cityscape die and  also white Sharpie.

But I really like my Aurora one, so will enter that one ;-)
