AAA cards Challenge #227: Anything goes + Halloween

This fortnight we play the Anything Goes Challenge again and as its almost Halloween, the image is just that, but your card doesn't have to be, it;s anything CAS goes.

For my card I  masked of an area, used a circle mask for the moon and inkblended Distress inks: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and Wilted Violet. Then Splattered with Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn

Stamped the sentiment and bats from Art Impressions (Fright Night) with Versafine ink.

The cute little kitty cat is a digi from Jo Kavanagh Designs and I found it on Etsy (Jokavanagh Designs Halloween Cats).

Colored it with Copics and Graph-it markers and had the Scan n Cut Cut it out, mounted it with foam tape and adhered it onto the card.

You Koalafy for Halloween

Hello, today I show you the last of my Halloween cards and it's another Aussie inspired one: Koala Mummy.

I printed the digi together with my made up punny sentiment, then cut out the image and colored it with copic markers.

I made the background by masking off an area on the cardbase and inkblending Distress inks. Then I splattered it with  metallic gold watercolors as I thought they could be stars, but also twinkle lights from other kids in the street;  Or even more flashlights.

I filled in the gaps in the image to match the background and even stippled in the gold.Mounted the image with foam tape and adhered it to the cardbase.

You Koalafy for Halloween, I liked the pun and I thought a child dressed up, with a pumpkin bucket and a flashlight does qualify for going trick or treating. Also seemed more fun than just trick or treat! Had to take advantage of the Koala aspect, right?

I printed the sentiment together with the image and cut it out, then used tape runner to attach it to the cardbase.

Koalaty Time?

Hello, today I show you a new Whimsy Stamps digi: Koala Witch.

I had to come up with a punny sentiment to fit the Aussie feel, so Hey Mate! etc..

I have another in mind for  the next card.

I printed the digi and sentiment, cut them out and colored the image with Copic markers.

Made the background sky by masking the cardbase and applying Distress inks (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and Villainous Poison) then splattered with water, white ink and shimmer spray and heat set it to dry it.

Then  I removed the moon mask and applied the outside or negative mask and inkblendend Pumice Stone for the moon, then smooshed the ink onto a plastic surface and made the "craters" with the same color Distress ink. Removed the mask and dried this too with the heat gun.

Then I filled in some gaps around the Witch with a matching marker, mounted the image with foam tape and adhered it to the cardbase. I think it needs bats in the background, but I don't have them from Whimsy Stamps, but they'd be cool.

The sentiment I've adhered with tape runner to the cardbase.

AAA Cards Challenge #226: Sketch + Thankful

This fortnight we're playing with a sketch and the optional twist of Thankful, chosen by Tristan.

You can rotate and flip the sketch if you like, I kept it as is.

On the bottom I see three banners and I've used a really old Kaiserkraft texture stamp and three colours of Memento ink to stamp it three times.

The thank you is from Clearly Besotted (Tiny Type_ and I stamped it in matching Memento ink.

Peek-a-boo

Peek-a-boo! Do clowns creep you out? Or someone you know? Then these Clowns from Dustin Pike are just the thing for you.

I've printed the Surprise clown digi on Copic Friendly paper and then Colored it with my markers. I added the sentiment while prepping the digi, it doesn't come with the set.

I wanted it to look like the creepy clown is bursting through the cardpanel, so I shaded the paper like it's really torn.

Adhered the panel to a cardbase.

You can find the digis in the Whimsy Shop:

Too cute to spook?

Ok some of you may or may not know about the giant spider in my livingroom a while back, so big and crunchy it made a doof noise when it fell from the wall, and it was fast, so fast...I'm not scared really, but this one was just too much for me and my cats! haha

But then Dustin Pike comes out with this cute little spider digi, and I am all "aww you can come live with me"....

I've combined the Spider with another digi set from Dustin, it's called Bat Candle, that's the  fun part of digi stamps: no messy masking or fussy cutting masking paper ;-)

I printed it and let the Scan N Cut do it's magic. Then colored it with Copic Markers.

I applied a circle mask to the cardbase and although I meant it to be a full moon, it could well be the halo from the candle flame, I'll leave it up to you.

I made it by applying Distress inks *Squeezed lemonade, Mustard Seed and  Wild Honey), splattered it with water and Wild Honey and I think there was some shimmer spray left on my brush as I  see some shimmer now, but it's all good.

Mounted the image with Foam tape and adhered it on top.

The sentiment is from another Whimsy Stamps set, but a clear stamps one: Spooky Kitties

You can find the digis in the Whimsy Shoo

You get a balloon

The new Whimsy digi release has these Clown in it..They are quite creepy and I can see why some people are freaked out by Clowns.

This image with the balloon made  me think of the Stephen King book/movie and Pennywise a nasty clown luring children with red balloons.

So my balloon had to be red, although it has a kind of Jack Skeleton face, but that's for another day ;-)

I made two one plain and one with a digitally enhanced card with the text, that   is also inspired by TV, You get a car, you get a car etc...you know it I'm sure.

Of course there's no stampset that would have this exact sentiment. so the card is still plain.

Wanna play? is also from a scary movie, might also be fun, but anyway...onto the card.

I printed it, cut it out and colored it last with alcohol markers, mounted it with foamtape.

For the background I inkblended Distress inks with matching colors to the image, no red though as I really wanted that to stand out, but instead Villainous Poison. I could have made the hexagons balloons maybe, but...hindsight and all that...I like the camera lens kind of reflection you used to get in old camera's.

Stuck the clown on top.

AAA Birthday Challenge #42: Favourite Technique

This month at AAA Birthday Challenge we are all about our Favourite Techniques,  or yours of course.

Mine is bi fold: inkblending and Stamp Coloring, so I 've used both :-D

I've started my card by masking off the lower part of the card, then I've applies Distress inks with a blending tool. at first I wanted to go for the rainbow, then I thought it might be cool as a Northern lights of sorts, so I splattered with water, white acrylic paint and Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust.

For my rainbow I've used: Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron. Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry, then arond the edges I've used Chipped Sapphire and Black soot.

For the snowman I've used a set from Marianne Design (EC0184) and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment Strips, I first stamped it on the cardbase, but then smudged it, so I covered it up with a little banner

AAA Cards Challenge #225: 1-9th + Gnomes

This Fortnight we're playing the 1-9th game again with the optional twist to use Gnomes.

This twist was chosen by Ceal.

For my card I used the Stampendous  Holiday Gnomes. I had a few still stamped  and cut out, this one fit best in the one of nine rectangles. I went to color it with my Copics and I realized I stamped it on watercolor paper, oh well I pressed on, it's not ideal, but I made it work.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas and I stamped it

with Versafine ink.

Mounted the Gnome with foamtape and adhered it on the card.
