50th Anniversary of Jaws

 Hello, today marks 50 years of duh duh duhduhdu duh duh..if you know you know ;-)

I'm celebrating with many other Design Team Members from Whimsy Stamps and their products.

For my card I printed the digi From Crissy Armstrong: Shawn Shark, colored it with alcohol markers and then cut it out.

For the background I printed the word Sharkasm on a panel and also printed the "yes I just love my veggies", cos you know sharks aren't known for eating their veggies and it goes with Sharkasm or sarcasm.

I then masked off an area and applied Distress inks and one Memento ink:  Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Bahama Blue, splattered with water.

Then I used the Whimsy Ocean Stencil and with Black Soot I added the sharks and shoals of fish. I did them with b;ack, just so they  stay in the background.

Diecut a few elements from the Ocean Builder Dies set and adhered them onto the cardbase. added Shawn but raised them with foamtape.

I free handed the speechbubble and glued it to the card.

Floating by to say HI!

 Hello, today I'm using quite a few products from Whimsy Stamps.

First I printed the digi from the Some Odd Girl Line: Ice Cream Penguin, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers. I did flip it to face the other side as at one point I thought it would work well with last week's card, but it was too busy for me, didn't use it then.

Then I diecut two floating ice sheets from the Wavy Nested Frames die set. I inkblended the lower edge to give it some shading, darker on the bottom to give the ice some height. I've used what ever Distress inks was left on my inkblending brushes, but if I had to guess it's Chipped Sapphire and Mermaid Lagoon with a hint of Tumbled Glass.

Glued them together to make my Ice sheet and adhered it to the card.

Splattered the card with a Shimmer pen so it looks like water splatter and adds a bit of shine.

I mounted the penguin on top with some foamtape.

The sentiment is also Whimsy stamps from the clear set Killer Friend and I thought this was very  on point for my card.

For my card I printed to digi Chilly Penguin, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers.

For the Hello I inkblended a reainbow on cardstock with Distress inks, then cut itout and the shadow die with black, added white gelpen for a shine detail.

AAA Card Challenge #290: Anything CAS Birthday goes

 Hello we turned 11!, well our challenge blog and challenges I mean.

Last year we celebrated big, but 11 doesn't feel as special, it is, just no prizes sorry, we hope you'll still join in.

The challenge is CAS birthday, so we look forward to your entries.

For my card I inkblended a cardpanel in rainbow colors with Distress inks and then splattered with water, silver and black shimmery watercolors, let it dry.

I diecut the Birthday Wishes from Whimsy Stamps from both the rainbow panel and a  black one for the outline.

I forgot to put double sided adhesive behind the rainbow, but luckily I remembered with the black as those lines are too thin for liquid glue for me.

Put it all together and partially stamped the Happy Birthday, also Whimsy Stamps with Versafine black ink.

April Showers

 

Hello, today I'm using a digi from Whimsy Stamps and Crissy Armstrong: I will carry you.

I saw a mouse with umbrella and a turtle with  wellies and a rainbucket hat, so I thought April Showers, bring May flowers would be nice, but as April is almost over I went with a punny sentiment: Thank you for being so Mice as the mouse is holding an umbrella sheltering the turtle from the rain...

I printed the digi, colored it with alcohol markers and then cut it out and mounted it with foam tape. I went for  nice and bright colors as rainy days can be a bit blah.

For the background I masked off a strip and splattered metallic blue and blueish green watercolor paint as if it's raining.

I printed the sentiment on the cardbase, I custom made it as I don't have anything like this from Whimsy.

Adhered the image onto the cardbase.

Happy Easter

 Hello, Happy Easter.

Today I'm using a pretty sweet digi from Whimsy Stamps and Sylvia Zet: Springtime.

I thought the bunny  and the little chick are very "Easter".

I printed the digi and colored it with alcohol markers, them cut is to make a frame with the card base.

I don't have a Happy Easter stamp so I left it out and could use it for a birthday o or a welcome baby  as well.

Bunny Beans

 Hello, today I'm using a digi called Bunny Beans from Whimsy Stamps and the Dustin Pike line.

When we were little we played a trick on my younger brother when walking in the sand dunes we saw many a pile of "bunny Beans" and told him they were jelly beans (or kokindjes a licorice in the Netherlands) and he started picking them like it was gold dust ;-) we of course had to tell him at one point not to eat them!

Anyway onto the card: I printed the digi , cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers.

For the back ground I made a mask with the scan and cut as I don't have egg shapes dies, but you could use the Whimsy Stamps nested pierced egg dies.

Through the mask I added Distress inks: Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron, Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold and Shaded Lilac  with whatever was left on the inkblending brushes, just a hint of Easter eggs there for you, didn't want to do them black as if the basket was overflowing, it's Spring and I need Spring colors.

I mounted the bunny with foam tape and adhered him to the cardbase. The sentiment is a nod to the toilet paper roll...

Bunny Toots

 Hello, today I'm using one of the new digis from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike: Bunny Toots.

I printed it, then cut it out with the Scan n Cut and I also made egg shaped masks on the Scan N Cut, 2 sizes, but ended up covering the small one wiht the digi.

I colored the digi with TriBlend markers this time and mounted it with foamtape.

For the backgorund I've used the mask I  made and applied Distress inks: Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron,Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac.

Adhered the bunny on top.

meowy birthday

 

Hello, today I'm showcasing you a birthday card I made for a friend with Whimsy Stamps and a digi from the Some Odd Girl line.

The digi is called Loveable Kitten and I had to color it black to resemble mine and it's actually Charlie's birthday today, or so we think.

I printed th edigi, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers, then added some details with a white gel pen.

For the background I masked off a circle and in the circle I applied Distress inks: Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers through more circle masks I made with  circle dies.

I stamped the sentiment from the Simple Sentiment Strips with Versafine ink.

Then I mounted the image with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

A cup full of Happiness

 

Hello today I'm using the Whimsy Stamps digi: A cup full of happiness.

It's a cup full of carrots that is sure to make any bunny happy. I chose to make it a birthday card, but Hello Spring or Happy Easter would also be perfect.

I don't seem to have any Easter sentiments or didn't find them .

I printed the digi, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers.

For the background I mad a mask with the smallest of the dies in the Mix and Match Marquee set, also Whimsy Stamps. I thought it could look like a picket fence of sorts, I chose similar and fun colors of Distress inks: Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Twisted Citron.

 Hello, today I'm using one of the new digis from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike: Chocolate Bunny.

The sentiment is from the Kindness is Contagious set, also Whimsy Stamps.

I thought they went well together maybe it needed Quotes, but hey if you thought a Bunny, especially the Easter kind, would be helpful, that's on you ;-).

I colored the image with alcoholmarkers and I wanted it to look like chocolate bunnies and also those marhsmellow peeps. Some details with a white gel pen and foamtape to mount the image.

The cardbase is inkblended with Distress inks: Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn.

Hey Ho let's not go

 Hello, today I'm using one of the new Whimsy Stamps digital stamps: Bunny Coffee from the Dustin Pike line.

I prepped the image  and printed it, colored then cut it out ( I think the Scan n Cut needs calibrating :-( )

If I stuck to my normal routine I would have cut it first, but I colored when I was at work, stupid..don't look at it too much ;-)

I then cut some sort of grass from green card and inkblended yellow Distress ink on the cardbase, I thought that looks Easter like.

The sentiment I made up and printed with the digi, it's a play on a famour Ramones songs...Bunny doesn't look eager to get going until he's had his coffee.

Hello, today I'm using a new digi from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike: Mardi gras.

There's 3 in the set and also sentiments.

I've used the alligator and a sentiment, to which I've added Relax....I thought it was funny.

I printed the digi and sentiment, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers.

I partial diecut one of the boho circles so I would get a straight top.

Then cut around the crown or jester hat? not entirely sure, we don't do mardi Gras here.

For the background I traced the opening onto the cardbase and applied Distress inks: Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron.

Adhered the image to the frame, making sure the hat/crown sticks out, then mounted the frame with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase. Added the sentiment.

Winter is for Sleeping

 

Hello, today I'm using the Whimsy Stamps digi: Sleepy Bear; it's from the Dustin Pike line.

I prepped the image, thought of a funny sentiment, then  printed it and colored the image with Tri Blend markers and cut it out. I've used the Simple Sentiment strips dies for the sentiment, didn't mean to do it on a slant, but hey, so to make it look intentional I also adhered the sentiment on a slant.

For the card base I applied Distress inks through a mask: Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron.

Mounted the image and sentiment with foamtape.

Hello, today I'm using a new digi from Whimsy Stamps and the Dustin Pike Line: Key to my heart.

Obviously it's for Valentine's day , but I thought the lock and key might be to a new home, a new car as well, first appartment.

I printed the image, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers.

For the cardbase I thought I could make my inkblending look like  the shape of a house, so I masked it off like it and applied Distress ink: Speckled Egg, Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers.

I used the fence from a Whimsy Clear set: Friends like ewe, for that white picket fence idea, except I made it grey with Morning Mist ink from Versafine as I wanted it in the background and white would pop too much.

I mounted the image with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

The Welcome I made with the Whimst Stamps Cutie ABC  die set. I colored white cardstock with Peacock Feathers ink, so it matches. Before diecutting I put soem double sided tape on the back, so the letters become stickers.

Adhered the Welcome in a whimsical way, to make it fit but also because the shape of the alphabet.

Happy Valentine's day

 Hello, today I have a card with the newest digi from Whimsy Stamps and the Dustin Pike line.

I'ts called the Gift of love and it is 1 of 2 new released digistamps.

I printed it and colored it with a bunch of alcohol markers, I mixed and matched a few brands, then cut it out.

For the background I masked off the bottom of my cardfront and applied Distress inks above it: Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar and splattered it with water.

For the sentiment I colored a piece of cardstock with the same Picked Raspberry, on the back I'd put double sided tape and cut it out with the Happy Large Word die.

The "Valentine's day" is from Happy Sayings and I've used Versafine Morning Mist.

I adhered the Happy to the cardbase and mounted the image with foamtape first then adhered it to the card too.

Some white gel pen details to make the heart and nose and eyes shine.

Happy New Year

 

Hello, Happy New Year, I believe today is the last day we're allowed to say it?

 Not sure but don't care, it's always good to be nice to others, right?

For my card I used a Whimsy Stamps digi from the Sylvia Zet line: Celebrate.

At first I thought I can't cut around all those swirly bits, so I diecut the image with the Marque set, and to make a backgorund I traced the shape of the die with colored markers..it looked bette rin my head, so I pit the image aside for a few days and decided to just try and fussy cut the ting, I did chop off a few, sorry.

I colored it with Ohuhu markers and Triblend markers and mounted the image with foam tape.

For this background, I wanted to make a night sky as the little bunny is in a rocket. Shooting into the New Year?

I applied Distress inks trough a circle mask: Villainous Poison, Chipped Sapphire and Prize Ribbon, then splattered with water and silver paint for stars, I did splatter the stars outside the circle, or planet , I thought that was cute.

The sentiment is from Dragon New Year a clear set from Whimsy Stamps and I've ised Versafine ink.

Adhered the image onto the card once everything was dry.

Santa got a second job

 You didn't really think Santa only has to work one night a year, right? after Christmas he helps the Toothfairy ;-)

Ok in my head that made sense, but I kept the sentiment somewhat open to interpretation.

I've used a digi from Whimsy Stamps and Sylvia Zet: The Joy of Giving. It's the wings that gave me fairy vibes

I printed it on Copic safe paper and colored the image with Triblend markers, then cut it smaller so I could have a border. For the border I applied Distress inks: Lumberjack Plaid so it looks like a red cardbase.

Then I adhered the panel to the cardbase.

Pull my finger

Hello, I like punny cards and this made me giggle...I've used two digis from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike: Dragon Begging and Playful Dragon.

I printed them and colored them with Graphit Brush markers and Spectrum Noir. I just love the green JG7 and LG5 produce. I kept them the same but mirrored in color, mostly cos I want it to be somewhat cohesive and not a caleidoscope.

For the background I inkblended Distress inks: Stormy Sky, Ever Green Bough and Speckled Egg; then splattered with water and white paint, it's Distress inks, it's mandatory ;-)

Diecut the birch trees, also Whimsy stamps (Forest Majesty die set) from white cardstock and adhered them on top. I had printed the sentiment at the same time with the images and made some kind of snow bank from it. Where else would dragons live but in a forest?
