foiling on acetate

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Party!, so is the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge .

I was heat embossing on the Crafter's Companion Heat Resistant acetate the other day and I got to think maybe I can also foil on it.

It doesn't say on the packaging, so it was an experiment and it worked. I  printed the sentiment with my laser printer on the heat resistant acetate . then Added Wow fab foil in gold and passed it through my MInc (like) machine that also worked.Funny cos with the heat gun I could see it starting to bubble if I held it in one spot too long, but this is way cool.

I then cut an aperture in a panel with nesting circle dies and traced the opening onto the cardbase. Applied Distress inks : Chipped Sapphire, Prize Ribbon and Blue Print Sketch, then splattered with water and Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn.

Adhered the acetate to the back of the opening with taperunner and then mounted the panel with foamtape.

With different fonts and wording, this opens a lot of possibilities, which I always like. Imagine  Merry Christmas, maybe with a tree shaped aperture, a snowflake, a heart and Happy Valentine or Mother;s day card? Anything is possible.

AAA Cards Challenges #205: Christmas + Slimline Card, with video

This is the last AAA Cards Challenge for 2021,ahhh sad face...it's Christmas its on a slimline if you fancy, the option of slimline was chosen by Jane.

For my card I cut an A4 sheet on the long side at 22cm, fold it in half to get my slimline. My panel is 21,5cmx 10cm.

For my 2 quarter bits I measured the panel, divided it in four and chose the best match for my die,it's a wee bit smaller, but that's OK, more empty space.

I traced the area behind the windows and inkblend Distress inks Broken china and Faded Jeans. Splattered the sky with Shimmer Spritz Sparkle and Dylusions White linnen spray. Heat set it and then stamped the sentiment below the right window, It's from Clearly Besotted (Tiny Type) and I've stamped it in Versafine.

The left over bits from cutting my A4 sheet I've used to diecut my village and stag, both from Craft Emotions, but they're a few years old,not sure they're still available.

Glued the stag and village to the panel and then glued the panel to the cardbase.

AAA Birthday Challenges: #32: easel card

This month the AAA Birthday Challenge is to make an easel card.

It's also my birthday month, so I made a frosty scene, a cute frosty scene I should say, for a birthday card in the middle of winter.

The image is a digi from Digidoodle design studio and I printed it on Copic safe paper, added the sentiment whilst I was in Photoshop.

Then I cut off the upper portion, not strictly neccessary, But I thought it would be fun if portions of the image would stick out the top.

To make my easel I cut a 12x12inch piece of card in half (6x12") and then folded it in half and the folded bit in half again. I'm sure it's the most basic way to make an easel, I had to look it up, it's not my normal style. I found the image on the internet with the search engine.

To make sure the folded bit stays put, I've added a piece of patterned paper from Doodlebug Design, it's a few years old, but it has pretty coloured snowflakes on it, I mounted the piece of patterned paper with foam, so  the folded bit can tuck behind it. I cut the patterned paper to 6x4 inches. I matched the scene to the same width. To colour my scene I took inspiration from the colourful snowflakes.

The Male Room Challenge: Food

This month the Male Room Challenge is all about food, manly food ofcourse ;-).

I've used a digi from Stamponit (Couch potato), he's a lazy teenage boy dreaming about his favorite  tv night ;-). I've added the text whilst I was prepping the digi in Photoshop. I went for a foodie twist on my film titles.

I'd like to see the Lord of the Fries hehe or Silence of the yams, well Starch Trek also sounds fun. I wonder if you can come up with more titles.

Anyway I printed the digi on Copic paper and colored him with alcohol markers.

Then adhered the panel to a cardbase.
