AAA Cards Challenge #166: 6th birthday celebration, with video

It's our birthday!  AAA Cards Challenges turns 6! woot.

For my card I used a digi from Beccy's Place and printed it with the sentiment onto Crafter's Companion Neenah paper. Coloured it with my Spectrum Noir Markers.
Adhered the panel onto a cardbase with taperunner.

The hippo has some kind of stitch lines, so it could be a stuffed aimal for a baby card. Then you could colour him any kind of pastel colour, but I went semi realistic.

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: recyle, showcasing SSS own brand.

For my recycling I've used skeleton leaves and garden twine.
I've rubbed some embossing ink on the lower part of the leaves and used similar colored  Wow Embossing powders (Verdigris, Rose gold and  gold sparkle). I've used the lowest setting on my Wow heat gun, just  because I thought those leaves might catch fire really easily, so be house is still standing, but just saying.

I've stamped the sentimen with Versafine Clair ink onto the cardbase, it's from Simon Says Stamp It's your birthday3x4 set.

For more information on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, see this.

What's the buzz?

The sentiment I've stamped with Versafine Clair ink, it's from the same set.

On the cardbase I inkblended Distress oxides (Spiced Marmalade and Mustard seed) through a hexagon stencil to reinfore the honey bee theme.

cream and white

The Less is More challenge : cream and white got me stumped for a week.

I finally decided on a polarbear for my cream, as they're not white white. on a white background.

It's a ModaScrap stamp (uncovential Xmas) and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things ( Bitty Holiday wishes)

I Stamped with Gina K. Amalgam ink and colored with Alchol markers.
I might go add a black nose after I entered it and maybe a shadow below the Polar bear...we'll see

Born to ride...the lawnmower

For the Male Room Craft Challenge: in the garden.

I've used the Art Impressions set called Born to ride and I just love the man on his  lawnmower.

I stamped the image with Versafine on watercolor paper, sentiment also, and then colored it with Zig Clean Color real brush pens.
I accidentaly colored the mower dark pink, I thought it was dark red in the wrong light...Anyway I think he would like it anyway lol.
Adhered the panel to a cardbase with tape runner.

For more information on the Male Room Challenge, see this.

Birthday sausagedog

The Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday Challenges  are:  a Dog's life and  Animal fun, so I've combined them.

For my card I've used the Woodware Sausage dog and I've stamped it with Gina K amalgam ink on watercolor paper and colored it with  Zig clean color real brush  markers.
The sentiment is from the same set and I've stamped it with Versafine Clair ink.

Added the watercolor panel to a long long cardbase  with tape runner.

Christmas Craft Creations, May Challenge: use a diecut, with video

Welcome back for the May Challenge at Christmas Craft Senstations: Use a diecut.

For my card I used a die from Kippers Hobby (20097) and diecut is 4 times out of white cardstock, once from silvery glittered cardstock and once from a mica sheet to  make a mask/stencil, the same size. I didn't have this particular size made and you could do it from masking paper or cardstock, but this way I can use it more often.

I inkblended Distress oxides: tumbled glass, broken china and faded jeans through the mask and then splattered it with white paint.

Then I added the glitter card on top of the white ones with liquid glue (Ranger collage medium) and adhered it to the cardbase.

Stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things'Bitty holiday wishes with Versafine Onyx black ink.
Added three rhinestones and that's my card finished.

This fortnight the AAA Cards Challenge is: Up to 1/3 and repeating an image. It was Dt member Nancy's choice.
Our Sponsor is Uniko and you could win an in stock stampset, I've used the Style set, it is a stylized flower stampset, but I've only used the two dots.

I have masked 2/3 of the cardbase, I 1/3 is exposed for stamping. I've used a rainbow of coloured dots, both Memento and Card Deco ink.
From Memento:  Rhubarb Stalk, Cantaloupe, Dandelion, Pear Tart, Bamboo leaves, Bahama blue, Danube blue and Paris Dusk.
From Card Deco: Red, Orange, Canary yellow, blueberry purple and Magenta.

I've lined the edges with black Memento marker to really define the area and placed a diecut on top. It's from Carlijn Design  from Winter en Herfst snijmallen. An eneml dot as my tittle (dot on the J).

For my second card I made the sentiment in Word and printed it, I thought I had one like this, but seems not. I then repeated this cute little kitten from Moda Scrap (Funny cat) in Black and one in Purpletofit the sentiment.

Gumballs or soapbubbles, what do you think?

I used 6 different stencils with  circles, so they would layer and I would get my bubbles, kind of randomly, but also not. I wanted the make multi coloured bubbles first, but I chose togo for two coloured gumballs  as it could be for a boy.

It's for the Male Room Craft Challenge: Sentiment in focus, so I wanted them there, but as light as possible. I've used a multitude of Distress inks and finger daubers.
Then I stamped the sentiment from Woodware's Hello set with Versafine Clair ink. Nice and black to help is stay in the foreground.
White gel pen to help the gumballs shine.

I made the hexagon stencil with a shaped die and applied Distress Oxides on the card panel ( Mustard seed and Spiced Marmalade).

Then I stamped the bees from Woodware on Crafter's Companion Marker paper and colored with alcohol markers, Some Nuvo Shimmer pen on the wings and cut them out.

Things with wings

The new AAA Birthday Challenge is: things with wings.
Ostriches have wings, they don't fly really, but have wings lol.

I've used the Stamping Bella set called Olivia and the Ostrich. I've stamped it with Gina K Amalgam ink and coloured it with alcohol markers.

I even used some matching patterned paper to line the cardbase as I felt I need to crop the image panel a little.

AAA Cards Challenges #164: One Image + Inspired by TV, with video

This fortnight our challenge is to use only ONE image and the twist , if you choose to use it, is inspired by tv.

Our sponsor it CAS-ual Fridays and the theme was chosen by DT member Ishani.

For my Card I've used the Stay Golden set from Kindred Stamps as it's their take on the Golden Girls.
I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir markers and  had my Scan n Cut cut it out.

For the strip along the cardbase I've used Distress oxides and then stamped the little stars from CAS-ual Fridays on top with a darker Oxide.
If I had thought about it sooner, I would have left the masking paper on, but only after I

thought this card needed a  bit of sparkle, as I thought the Golden Girls are quite flamboyant ladies, it needed a bit of Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink and mounted the lady with foamtape.

For more information on the AAA Cards Challenge, or to play along,  see this.

AAA Cards Challenge #163 a Sketch, with video

Happy Easter!

Our AAA Cards Challenge this fortnight is a Sketch and the optional twist is It flies, chosen by our dt member Michelle.
For my card I've used two it flies : a butterfly and ducks. It is a Lili of the Valley Digi called Easter Sweeties, seemed perfect.

Our Sponsor is Stamplorations and you could win: $15 credit to their digital store

For my card I cut up a full sheet of A4 DCP paper to 21cm first, scored and folded that square in half, The bit I cut off I've used to print my digi and then matted it to size.
My printer can take all sorts of paper sizes, but I left it as big/long as possible in case it decided to line it out differently to what I want it does that ;-)'s easier to cut off a bit than adding it if the image is cut if half.
I added the sentiment whilst prepping the digi. Then I coloured it with my Spectrum Noir markers and mounted  the panel with foamtape. Added some shine with a  Nuvo Shimmer pen.

Out of focus

That's the new challenge over at Less is More.
I chose a bokeh effect for my card. For it I applied Distress inks through a mask and then White Lawn Fawn Ink through the dotted circle stencil from Simon Says Stamp.

I had this fairy from Joy! Crafts in my ready coloured stash so I used her as my image. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things' Bitty Birthday Wishes. I might cover it with a banner as I had reinked my  Versafine and it stamped a bit "bold"...we'll see how I feel tomorrow ;-)

For more information on the Less is More Challenge, see this
And I also like to enter it to the AAA Birthday Challenges, for their dots and or stripes challenge.

Christmas Craft Creations April Challenge, Use a Stamp, with video

I'm delighted to say I joined the Chirstmas Craft Creations DT. Once a month we make a Christmas Cards according to the prompt.

This month it's: Use a stamp.

For my card I used Clearly Besotted : Christmas Line up and Laugh Out loud Christmas  for the sentiment.

I start my card by inkblending a background, through a home made stencil/mask. I applied Tumbled glass on the bottom and Stormy Sky Distress Oxides on the top. I thought it would look like a snowy scene.

I splattered Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust at the end, it was a bit of an afterthought, but I was careful, if not you should add the splatters now, before you add the images.

I coloured my Christmas Line up with Spectrum Noir markers and adhered it on top with foamtape.

I started to make little thank yous for all those people who can't stay inside, those people, I call heroes, that  help us in hospitals, retirement homes, supermarkets, anyone who goes out their way for us and sometimes get the abuse end of the stick from people stockpiling.

So I thought what can I do when we're allowed out again. I  usually make a 3 tealight box, but as I want them to stretch further I made them a little smaller with two lights. Still a nice gesture I think and a little kindness. I have many tealight left, infact almost donated them away! same with scrappaper. Clapping on the streets is not really for introvert people like me.

For the box you need a piece of card 4.75inchesx5.5 inches. You can get 4 oout of one piece of scrappaper (12x12inch) and you have a few bits left over, you caould use as a bellyband or tag. I used ribbon instead.

On the short side score at: 3/4inches and 4inches
On the long side score at: 3/4, 23/8, 31/8 and 4 3/4 inches
Burnish and cut out notches as indicated on pattern. I prefer using hotglue to stick my boxes together, it's much easier and quicker.

I've used a stamp from Carlijn Design and I let my Scan N Cut make the tags, but you can use whatever you have of course.

Dots and or stripes

That's the new AAA Birthday Challenge.

For my card I used the Your Next Stamps Stripetastic for the stripes with Pink Fresh Studio lilac inks.
No rainbow this time lol

For the Sentiment I've used Clearly Besotted Tiny Type and Laugh out loud.
I added a few contrasting dots in the form of enamel dots, and that's when I feel out of love with it, it's like red and green on a Christmas card, can't stand it lol

Anyway I shall ponder a little more and make another, as it doesn't have to be CAS I might  do something else...At first I didn'twant to enter it, buttaste differ and others may like it.

For more information or to play along the AAA Birthday Challenge, see this.

I'll just blame the dog

This rat from  Katzelkraft's Les Rats des Villes is just the perfect image to go with the sentiment, I made it  on the computer, printed it on markerpaper and then stamped the image of the rat with Gina K Amalgam ink.  Coloured the image with alcohol markers. Adhered the panel to a cardbase with tape runner.

It's for the Male Room Challenge: make  me laugh
