I love you like no Otter

I just love puns and cute critters and this digi from Crissy Armstrong is just too cute.

It's called My Significant Otter, but as I have no significant otter, I made my sentiment, I love you  like no Otter, maybe for my bestie, not sure yet.

you can find the digi in the Whimsy Store and I printed it on Copic Transotype paper, then cut it out. I made the background on the cardbase by Masking the bottom and top and applying Distress inks Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio. Then I splattered purple and violet Shimmery watercolors to be my flowers. So I had to color the flower she's holding purple ofcourse. I say she as I see a she otter, she has long lashes, so also a pink scarf. Didn 't want to add another color to the palette.

Ive used Copics for the otter and am not the best at fur, but I am really happy how it turned out.

I made the otter stick out from the background  on purpose, it breaks it loose if that makes sense.

Mounted the Image and sentiment with foam tape and adhered it to the cardbase.

AAA Cards Challenge: 207 : No Layers + BIG sentiment

This fortnight we have the dreaded NO Layers challenged, paired with the optional  aspect of a big sentiment. This option was chosen by Francesca.

Our challenge badge is very Valentine's day inspired, but you don't have to go down that route, it's just inspiration.

For my card I masked off the centre of the cardbase and applied Distress inks: Salvaged Patina, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire.

On top I've stamped the sentiments from Woodware (JGS671- Hello) with Versafine ink.

Haunted house moving card

For this week's digi highlight I've used two Whimsy Stamp digis: Little Gargoyle and the Haunted Halloween scene. I thought it would be fun as a moving house card. So not to clutter the main image from the January release I made the background a really light grey and then ink blended the edges and also curled up the edges as if it was an old map or alike. I added the sentiment on the pc :"Good luck in your new home" I was tempted to add "I hope it's not Haunted" to tie in to the theme but I just might do that on the inside ;-) Adhered the background to a cardbase. I colored the Gargoyle with alcohol markers and then cut him out and mounted it on top with foamtape.

2. For two extra entries into the draw enter a different card at each of the first 2022 challenges.

To accommodate the different timings of the two challenges the Micro Hop will begin at 8.00am UK time on Sunday 9th January and close at 23.55 UK time on Saturday 22nd January.

You can of course enter cards at AAA Birthday before and after  those dates, but they will not be a part of the prize draw.

The new challenge just started over at AAA Cards and it's a new theme and look to everything!
We added "Moodboard", which means you can take anything from the tiles in the game badge and run with it. But make sure your card is still CAS.
According to AAA Cards Challenges CAS means: minimal (or no) layers, minimal (or no) embellishments, plenty of empty space, no splatters, no dry embossing all over the background. Little  bits is fine, one focal point and everything contained is ideal.

For my card I diecut the tree die from Marianne Design LR0283 from 300grams card, cut off the right side trees, they didn't cut well and I wanted less.

I also diecut the deer from Nellie Snellen SD209 from the same card.

For the background I inkblended Distress inks: Chipped sapphire, Faded jeans, Stormy sky and Speckled egg. Splattered with water and white acrylic paint.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple sentiment strips). I thought Happy winter, but I just grabbed Merry Christmas, bit later or very early, but you can never have too many in your stash. right?.

For my second card I used a Whimsy Stamps Digi: Dudley Stuck.
I printed him on Copic safe paper, added the sentiment whilst in Photoshop and printed it with my laser printer, then colored the image with Copics and Graphit brush markers. Cut is 1cm smaller and attached it to the cardbase with tape runner.

AAA Birthday Challenge January: Two favorite colors

To celebrate the New Year, new beginnings and new blog colours AAA Birthday and AAA Cards are having a micro blog hop.

You can of course enter cards at AAA Birthday before and after  those dates, but they will not be a part of the prize draw.

This month the challenge is to use your two favorite colors, now mine are not a secret, I love purple and pink, so I used wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry from Distress inks through a stencil.

The stencil is from Carlijn design and I applied the color from the lower right side, so to create a shiny spot on top. Any stencil brand will do of course and you can make your own with a die set if  you want.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (Birthday Balloons) There's solid balloons in the set , but I felt they were a little small.

I would have used more colors, like

the rainbow if it weren't for the challenge, as much as I like these colors, I'm not sure there's enough distinction between the balloons.

I splattered with Shimmer Spritz for a bit of shine,
