Cute Halloween card 2022- #1 glow in the dark and see through ghost

I had this idea of a vellum ghost for the Less is More Challenge: Black can be white space too, so I think it's CAS, Maybe not as much Vellum as I'd like, but it's a ghost!
For all the details, please watch the video:
I've used the Tim Holtz Moon Mask, Wow Glow in the Dark Embossing powder, Avec Creative cityline I found in my stash and the last Minute Manda Digi for the ghost.
You can find the digi on Etsy

Last Minute Manda digi: Halloween Frank

Today I show you how I've used one of  6 Frankensteins Monsters in set 2 (There's4 ), so plenty to choose from . this set is only 2.25 euro or  whatever that is in your country...So affordable is what I'm trying to say ;-)

I printed my image on Copic friendly paper, cut him out with the Scan N cut and colored him with Copic markers.

For the sentiment I;ve used a clear stampset from Whimsy stamps (Spooky Kitties) and the background I had in my stash`and I thought it was a nice Halloween colors circle to help anchor my image. I think it's Distress OXide inks: Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Carved Pumpkin.

Imounted Frank with foamtape and adhered him on top.

Don't talk to me before my coffee!

Hello, this week I made a fun card with the Whimsy Stamps digi: Goth Doll.

I felt the little girl drinking her coffee, leaning on a tombstone, went perfectly with the sentiment I added when prepping the images.
I Added the cat too, then printed it and colored it with Copic markers. I used fun, bright colors, tried to use somewhat Halloween like colors in visual triangles, Cut the panel a little smaller and adhered it to the cardbase.

AAA Cards Challenge #222: Moodboard + Get Well

This  fortnight we have a Moodboard again and the optional twist to make a Get Well card. A CAS get well card ofcourse.

Now the Moodboard is very much geared towards medicine and potions, but you can take the colours, shapes, profession from the images, maybe there's more and  the get well is optional, I look forward to what you come up with.

For my card I used the Get Well Dragons from Whimsy Stamps.

I stamped it with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and  colored it with Copic Markers

Silly Santa 2 from Last Minute Manda Digis

Hi, this week I made a similar card to last week's Silly Santa card on his scooter, why? cos I liked the Memory Box border for my scene as if Santa is dragging his  bag towards the houses, tells the story perfectly.

I changed my mind halfway through and I didn't notice that my cardbase was a top fold and now a side fold. Make the photo more awkward, but the card stands up better. so I left it as I only notice when I was done ...

I printed the Last Minute Manda digi and cut him out with my Scan N Cut then colored him with alcohol markers, few different brands, some at work, some at home, but they all work together so it doesn't matter at all.

I inkblended a yellow moon on the cardbase as it is probably night, but I left the background white so the image would pop and it's a cleaner look.

I attached the tree border with glue and colored in the lights.

Sentiment is from My Favorite Things Bitty Holiday Wishes.

You can find this digi and the others in the series on Etsy:  https://www.etsy.com/nl/shop/LastMinuteManda?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1185916079&search_query=silly+santa

Whale of a time

Hiya, this week I've used the Digi set Whale of a time from Whimsy, there's also a clear stamp version if you prefer.

I printed the Orca or Killer Whale on Copic friendly paper and cut it out with the Scan N Cut, then colored it with Copic Markers.

I wanted some color and so I debated to make him jump from the waves, but thought that's the same as others I made not long ago..also I wanted color, and I decided a circle, maybe a hoop in rainbow would make the card a little more fun as opposed to B&W only.

I cut two nesting circles from a panel to make my border and then inkblended Distress inks on it ( I messed up one first though by inkblending forst and then diecutting it and the inner circle moved). Was debating if I could make it work, but it's easy to make a second one.

Mounted the hoop and whale with foam tape and then adhered it to the cardbase.

The sentiment is from Whimsy also, a clear set called Simple Sentiment Strips.

I wanted to do something of a pun, but I feel Orca or Killer Whales are misunderstood Dolphins and I thought Happy Birthday is always good, especially if you know someone that likes them. And it's true they are the same as Dolphins, nephews if you will...did you know that?

Over the Hill with Video(s)

HI, Whimsy Stamps just released a new range of Dustin Pike digis and I love the sarcasm on Caramel the Unicorn, esp this one, with a tombstone. The Tombstone comes in two guise with text and without,s o you can customize it while on the computer prepping the image. I cut the first one without white margin and so I had a chance to change the text with the second one and I went with "Not Long Now"....together with the sentiment banners, Happy Birthday Old Codger and on the Officially over the hill. I know you need to be really close to someone to send a card like this, but I couldn't resist.

Old Codger, means something like grumpy old man, not sure it's a common phrase, so I went with the other sentiment I had prepped and printed on the same card, let the scan n cut do it's work, with! margins this time and then started on the background.

I wanted a order with hills (of course) and maybe a little house, but decided against that.Masked off the moon or sun and inkblended the sky with Distress inks: Villainous Poison, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo) the Grass is Mowed Lawn and the Moon is Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin and then splattered with Lawn Fawn's Liquid Stardust and water, I thought they could be craters on the moon, although it's a bit yellow for a moon, maybe...you decide...the sky is purple because I wanted something surreal and so the yellow moon could be just that...;-)

I colored the image with Decotime and Copic Alcohol markers as I don't have the really p[ale blues in my Decotime set, not sure they exist, but doesn't matter...I have plenty and came up with a few more blending recipes for them, so had to try them. Mounted the sentiment and Unicorn with foam tape and adhered them to the otherwise flat cardbase.

There's 4 other Caramel Sets as well and you can find them here: https://whimsystamps.com/search?q=caramel

Back to School part 2

Hiya, today's card is the second image out of the set: School days

And for my card I ink blended some sort of rising Sun to go with the sentiment, as if the Dragon is up at the crack of Dawn, trying to get to school, but dragging his feet.

I printed the image with my laser printer, cut it out and colored it with Copic Markers.

The sun was made by basking the centre first and adding the halo with Distress inks, I believe I've used Carved Pumpkin, then removed the circle and applied the negative of the mask to add ink to the body of the sun with Mustard Seed and also Carved Pumpkin,

The sentiment is from the same set and to get it on the card, I printed it on a separate piece of card, then trimmed that to size and to ground my little schoolboy

Adhered the dragon with foam tape.

Back to school release part 1

Hi, Whimsy Stamps just released 2 new digital images for those back to school cards.

You can find the digis here:

For my card I used both images and sentiments from Whimsy stamps, as well as one of the Slimline paper packs  Lost in Space. The sentiment is from a clear stamps set: On a Roll

I cut a normal (metric) cardbase and adhered the starry sky, but it looks also like dots of colors, that matched quite well with my colored image; it's also calm enough to be used as a backdrop.

I printed the digi with my laser printer, cut him out and colored him or her with Copic Markers. To add a sentiment and a foundation for the dragon, I mounted a strip of white card on the front. Added foam tape to the dragon and placed it on the card.

In all fairness there is a sentiment included in the set, pretty much the same as I composed here, but I didn't remember, I just realized it now ;-)

Please come back for another card tomorrow ;-)...

Santa's Scooting by

This Santa digi from last Minute Manda is so much fun. I love it for my Scooter Loving Friends or any Italian Friends as they Vespa Scooter is Iconic , isn't it?

I printed the image and then cut it out, colored it with Alcohol Markers, then mounted it with foam tape.

for the background I diecut a the border from Memory Boc (Modern Landscape Border), then trace the edges on the cardbase and applied Distress inks, just a little Tumbled Glass to define the edges.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things: Bitty Holiday Whishes.

Find the digi on Etsy, it's called Silly Santa: https://www.etsy.com/nl/listing/1266576000/silly-santa-1-digitale-postzegel?click_key=6383843e1294a28a0227951b3a952ca2594b7988%3A1266576000&click_sum=0fb8321b&ref=shop_home_active_10

Mr Octopus Whimsy Stamps

Whimsy stamps has a wide range of digis and digi designers, this one's from Some Odd Girl and it's called Mr Octopus.

I'd say octopi and tophats are very iconic to the Steampunk movement, I thought for a second to go that route but I didn't.

I printed the digi and colored it with Alchol markers and cut him out. Mounted the image with foamtape.

I mased off the lower portion of the cardbase and applied Distress inks, Tumbled glass, Salty Ocian, Mermaid Lagoon, Prize Ribbon are the one's I remember, but I went back and forth with other similar colors until I liked the gradient. then splattered with water  for the "bubbles" .

The sentiment is also from Whimsy stamps: From the Octopi Guys and it seemed perfect. Many arms for a good hug and suckers for the hickey look ;-) Stamped it with Versafine ink.

Adhered the image onto the cardbase.

Bart is going back to school

Hiya, This week I am using the Whimsy Stamps Back to School Bart.

I printed it with my laserprinter and cut him out, then Colored him with Copic Markers and mounted the image with foam tape.

Now teal is a pretty color, but hard to combine in my opinion. But I love purple with it as you can see from the backpack. So for the background I masked of an area and inkblended Distress inks to match (Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet)

My first card was a more organic cut mask and splattered with water, but that ripped the cardstock, so no splatters tis time. But first I added the sentiment to the cardbase and printed it with my laserprinter as well.

Stuck Bart on top. I wanted to ground him, but also bust out of the purple box as a subliminal message of sorts ;-)

You can find the digi in the Whimsy Store: https://whimsystamps.com/products/back-to-school-bart-digital-stamp?_pos=4&_sid=ebdc48b54&_ss=r

AAA Cards Challenge #221: Small and few + ladybugs

This fortnight we play "Small and few" and the optional twist is ladybugs or ladybirds if you prefer.

In the mood badge I've put (Lady) in brackets and even included a beetle bug car, just to give you a plethora of ideas.

I can't wait to see what you make.

For my card I diecut the Crealies bugs from black and red cardstock (CLPartz27)
I  masked off the top of the card and inkblended a bit of grass just below.

I stamped the Happy Birthday from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips).

Glued the little bugs in place

are you a Crazy Catlady yet?

I thought this set from Last Minute Manda is so fun as I may or may not be a Crazy Cat Lady already...hehe

Find the digi set on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/nl/listing/1176991666/crazy-cat-lady-2021-digitale-postzegel?click_key=3cbbdf0396b2abbb6981d52ca3dde5a1bbb5dbbb%3A1176991666&click_sum=c4d42b86&ga_search_query=cat&ref=shop_items_search_6

It's just one image of many in the set and so affordable if you like to use Digistamps,]

I've sized mine, printed it, cut it out with the Scan N Cut and then colored it with a mix of alcohol markers.

I then made a panel with the sentiment, based on a meme I saw somewhere, and I thought it was funny, like the one once you were cool and hip and the next day you turn down the car stereo to see better ;-) It's true by the way ...hehe

I adhered the  panel to the cardbase with taperunner, then I remembered I have this stencil with animal prints, so I applied Distress inks to match the Crazy Cat Lady's outfit.

Mounted the image with foam tape and adhered it to the cardbase.

How I choose my Copic blends, easy fast and headache free everytime, with video

 Hi,

If you want to download the photos to make your own, click on them to open, then rightclick and choose open in new tab or window, then to got that tab or window, click on it, if you see a magnifying glass with a + click again to get the biggest size photo, then richtclick and choose save as....somewhere on your pc, rename it if that's easier.

Now it's just a draft with my handwriting, it will be good for a few years until the colors fade, esp if you leave them in the sun, it will be faster in degrading.

As I need a new one, I will probably make an Excel or Spreadsheet and type all the blends properly, but it works for me.

I cut strips from the Perfect Coloring paper from Copic and stick them onto sturdy cardstock, then write down the blends from Light to darkest from left to right and color next to it.

This is just my way as I am left handed I suppose it makes sense, but you do what works for you.

The idea is, as you can see in the video, If I need any color combination I can just pick and choose from what I know already works.

I have a Kallax on wheels next to my desk, it fits the Spectrum Noir Ultimate Storage trays on both sides, so I use the upper 2 levels of my 3 level kallax as  it's easier, down on floor level s hard to read the caps for me, so It houses a box for my cats instead.

I pick my markers, color and put them back in their place. For me it's less work to pull them back out again, than when I have 30 or more markers on my desk, I find that harder to put back in place. I don't mind pulling them out again, but usually I don't need to. But again you do what works for you, I have a really small desk now and I like to keep it as tidy as possible.

Hopping Raccoon

This digi stamp fro, Whimsy is just so cute, I had to showcase it and even make it an interactive card!

I started by printing the digi ,cut it out and then colored it with Copic Markers. I thought the red pogo (?) stick was fun.

I didn't mean to make it interactive so I ink blended Distress inks on the cardbase, but then had to cut it into a panel and cut the wiggly channel out. Then ink blended some disguising color on the cardbase, it's not exact, but I don't mind most of it is covered and I prefer the channel without the bump of the sliver of paper from the channel making the image stick or get caught on those edges.

The sentiment is from Whimsy also: Gnome me so well, a "normal" clear stamp, you can also find it in their shop here: https://whimsystamps.com/products/gnome-me-so-well-clear-stamps?_pos=1&_sid=dead845bb&_ss=r

I thought the Hoppy went well with the image although it was meant for the toad in that set, but hey it works.

Cut the panel smaller and then mounted it with foam tape. and then adhered it to the cardbase.

The image is attached with a sliver of foam tape as well to a little circle that works as a stopped so it doesn't come out of the channel.

You can find the digi in the Whimsy Store:  https://whimsystamps.com/products/hopping-raccoon-digital-stamp?_pos=2&_sid=13474e843&_ss=r

AAA BIrthday Challenge #40: interactive birthday card

This month at AAA Birthday Challenges is: Anything Birthday Goes.

For my card I've used a scene builder set from AvecCreations (Action) I diecut some of the elements, there's more but I thought this was plenty. I also diecut the car from red card.

I inkblended Distress inks on the cardbase. I used the hole the  cutting of the element left as my mask. Exactly the  right size ;-) Handy..

I've used Blueprint Sketch, Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean.. Adhered the circle with the housed with glue.

Cut a strip of acetate for the car. Made it pointy so it's  an arrow you pull to move the car.

then I filled the circle around the acetate strip with foamtape, so there's room to slide. also made a collar from printer paper so the strip doesn't wobble.

Adhered the second circle on top. Stamped the sentiment from Whimsy stamp  (Simple sentiment strips) with Versafine ink.

For more information or to play along the AAA Birthday Challenge, see this.
