Rainbow trees

The new Less is More Challenge is: One Layer and Winter Flora.

I had to dig through my stash to find this row of Christmas trees, pretty much all my stamps are Fauna, cute critters, maybe squirrels in a tree, but yeah...this is a Lawn Fawn Stamp from the Simply Celebrate Christmas borders, so is the sentiment.

I stamped it on the cardbase with My Favorite Things Extreme Black ink and colored it with Triblend markers. They will seep through to the other side...but it's ONE layer fortnight, so might cover it up with a sheet of card later, frankly I don't mind it that much.

Challenge, see this.

AAA Cards Challenge #152 Maxi whitespace + geometric

This fortnight our sponsor is Uniko and I used the Simply Said block Christmas for the sentiment.
If you join our challenge, you could win an in stock stampset.

For my card Iused the circle with star from Simon Says Stamp  Presents and ornaments.
I thought the circle would be  for my geometric bit,not sure if a star is considered a geometric shape too,but it reminded me of baubles or ornaments and I stamped a rainbow of  them with Memento inks.

For the "Maxi white space" challenge, I only stamped one row.

Then I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair Nocturn ink and heat set it to be sure.

Sorry Life is Nuts

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Autumn colors.

For my card I used a panel of Neenah Desert Storm and masked off an area to inkblend Distress Oxides: Carved pumpkin, Mustard Seed and Candied apple, Autumn colors I would say.

For my images and sentiment I've used "oh nuts!"from Miss ink Stamps, sadly I have no Honey Bee stamps.

I stamped the image with Extreme black ink and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers then cut them out and mounted them with foamtape.

The white gelpen was an afterthought so I put
the squirrels on the panel first and then traced the white gelpen around them...For the sentiment I've used Memento rich cocoa so it would match with the Desert Storm cardstock.

three sheets to the wind

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Spooky.

I made my card using a stamp from Art Impressions (fright night) and colored it with my alcohol markers, then cut it out. I diecut the spooky hill from black cardstock. It's from Crafting Desert Divas, but they've closed their shop.
I traced where the hill would reach and then applied Distress Oxides on the cardbase ( Mustard seeds, Carved Pumpkin, Wilted violet, Chipped sapphire and Blacksoot. I went back and forth to darken the top layer.
Stamped the sentiment from the same set with Versafine Clair ink.
Mounted the spooks with foamtape and adhered it to the card.

Rudolph the Pink nosed reindeer?

Sure why not, maybe it's his sister? haha...anyway it's for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: All things pink.

As I'm in Christmas cards mode I made one using the Simon Says Stamp HoHo Deer die and cut it out a cardpanel three times. Also cut his/her nose from pink glitter paper.

Stamped the sentiment, also Simon Says Stamp (tiny Words Christmas) with Versafine Clair ink.
Traced the openings onto the cardbase so I could inkblend Distress Oxides in the right place. I've used: Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry.
Adhered the panel on top with tape runner.Placed the glitter nosed back with a Zig glue pen.

CAS on Friday

Hiya, I haven't played with what was then CAS on Sunday for a few years and forgot about it, so sorry.

The challenge is: big word or sentiment and I've used Fijne Kerst stamp from Craft Emotions 1826. I inked it with Versamark and stamped the sentiment on the cardbase. Then I've used Wow metallic brass to heat emboss it. Shine and impact  in one.
Just three little snowflakes I cut from glitter paper, attached with a glue dot. Done.

Halloweeeeeeeen

For the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Halloween, showcasing My Favorite Things and I could only use the Extreme black ink as I have little in the Halloween Department, but I just got this set in with my latest SSS haul.

And the Male Room Challenge: Halloween.

I diecut a circle from masking paper and  stuck in on a cardbase. then masked off the sky area and applied Distress Oxides. I started with Carved pumpkin for a moon glow, but ended up covering most of it with Wilted violet and chipped sapphire.
Then I splattered  some Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn for awesome sparkly stars.

I left the moon white but stamped the bats
on top with Versafine Claire ink.
I stamped the image from Art Impressions (fright night set) with  My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and colored it with Tri Blend markers, then cut it out.
I cut off the little spider, so re stamped it on the cardbase, mounted the little image with foamtape and stuck in on top. The Sentiment is from the same set.

AAA Cards Challenge #151: One Corner + Colour Palette. With Video

This fortnight our challenge theme was chosen by Ceal and it's : one corner and a Halloween like colour palette.

Our sponsor is Stamplorations and you could win a $15 store credit.

The colours had me stumped at first, not really my colours, but then I saw this stencil from Uniko and I thought it was perfect. Just a little big for our "one corner challenge".
So I masked bits off to make is smaller. I left it going off the edge on purpose, it looks more grounded that way I think.

I've used Distress inks for my inkblending (Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron).
Then I went around the stencil openings with my black fineliner (Staedtler 0.1). I think it makes the equalizer pop more.

For the sentiment I've used Versafine Clair ink (Nocturn) and a sentiment from the Your Next Stamp set called Silly Monster Rockstars. Added three enamel dots, one to cover up a smudge ..ahum.

For more information, more examples from our DT and or to play along the AAA Cards Challenge, see this.

the splattered the ares I masked off with Brushed pewter and picket fence Distress Spray Stains. Heat set it.
Stamped the village on top with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. It's from Woodware Craft Collection (winter Wonderland) and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp ( tiny words Christmas).

Autumn birthday

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Autumn, showcasing Tim Holtz.
The AAA Birthday Challenge is: colour palette.

For my card I've used a panel of Kraft card, masked of a strip and inkblended Distress Oxides on there: Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple and Mustard seed.
Die cut the  Simon Says Stamp Stitched Maple trio leaves from green card and adhered them to the card. Traced a line of white gelpen to define the area. then splattered with Lawn Fawn liquid stardust for some shimmer.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp: It's your birthday 3x4 set and I've used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
Adhered the panel to a cardbase.

24 Weeks of Christmas cards - #14 Polar bears

Wednesday 9 October 2019

Printing with Distress ink

I think everyone knows how to stamp/print with their acrylic blocks, and you can get round ones, scalloped  or rectangle ones. But I found this acrylic star shape in my local craftstore the other week and I thought that might work the same, it does, but it's very thin, so harder to hold, so I made a little handle with some tape.

I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge : Christmas, showcasing Neat and Tangled. Although I have a few Neat & Tangled products, none fit the Christmas theme.

So for my card I recreated one I made Monday, that ended up not fitting the two challenges I meant it for, I've included it below.

For the green star I've used many green colors of Distress inks, in tow layers as I thought the first was a bit muted, I remember: mowed lawn, shabby shutters, peeled paint, twisted citron. The red one  was made with Candied apple, carved pumpkin and mustard seed. I also made a rainbow one with Mermaid lagoon, mowedlawn, mustard seed, carved pumpkin and candied apple.

I dabbed the mini ink cubes on the shape, spritzed lightly with water and pressed it onto watercolor paper; smooshing the water around where it was needed. Let is dry.

The Christmas is a Sizzix thinlits from Tim Holtz and the trees are from JoyCrafts, that's a Dutch brand,  but there are many similar ones around, I like their tall stature and stem...wish my legs were that long haha...

A few glittery enamel dots to make it more sparkly for Christmas.

Rudolph shaker card

For the Simon Says Stamp World Cardmaking day , I made a shaker with my new SSS goodies :-D

I've used the Ho HO Deer circle with a nesting circle around it to cut my shaker pocket.
I've also diecut two acetate pieces for the pocket.

On the cardbase I stamped the SSS  Christmas Sweater background with Versafine Crimson  ink.
Colored the node with the same ink.

To build my shaper I've used two layers of foamtape, that's where the bigger circle comes in handy as it gives me a rim to hide the tape.

I filled the pocket with Crafter's Companion  mixed sequin pack in the iridescent color., to close the pocket I've used the second sheet of acetate and then applied double sided tape to adhere it to the cardbase.

I wanted to use my new SSS set tiny words Christmas, But I thought with the busy background it needed something bolder.
So for that I  pulled out the Carlijn Design snijmallen set Elegante Kerst. and Diecut the words from white and the shadow from the same red. with double sided tape on the back it's easy to attach the two.

On Rudolph's nose I added Midas Touch shimmer pen, not sure I wanted to fill in the eyes, but it might have been nicer..not sure.

stay calm and drink tea

For the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge : think pink, I made this card  with a guinea pig in a pink tea cup.

The image is from Impression Obsession ( H13747) and I stamped it with Gina K amalgam ink, I just got in from my SSS order :-D.

The sentiment I started with both Amalgam ink and then switched to Versafine clair ink as it's watercolor paper, it  needed a deep dark.

The words are from Carlijn Design  (blijf kalm)..
To color the image I've used Ecoline and a too small a brush, but I was lazy, didn't want
to get up hehe..

snowman face diy

For the Male Room Challenge: stay cas, I pulled out the  Happy little stampers' set Mix mash and the carrot nose I free handed.
I've used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink for the stamping of both the dots and the sentiment.
The sentiment is from Carlijn Design Moderne Kerst.
Big of white gel pen in the eyes, no layers, no embellishments, plenty of white space, maybe boring...erhm I mean masculine haha

For more information on the Male Room Challenge, see this

it's beginning to look a lot like...

I'm running out of time haha...
for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes and the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: let's get ready for Christmas.

I made along card the whole with of a sheet of cardstock (21cm) the bit I cut off, has become my panel, neat...I  masked off the moon with Inkadinkado masking paper.
Inkblended Distress oxides (tumbled glass, mermaid lagoon, blueprint sketch and chipped sapphire)...then splattered with water, white and brushed pewter Distress Sprays.

the Santa sleigh is from Tim Holtz, via Stamper's Anonymous (k6-2435) and the trees from Marianne design, but there's
many similar ones across the industry. I stamped both with Versafine Clair ink. Just three rhinestones for glittery stars.
