Eerie moon

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (from last week) is: stitch it.

For my card I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out a panel, that I adhered to the cardbase with tape runner.

Wit Inkadinkado masking sheets I diecut a moon and applied it to the card, then inkblended Distress Oxides on the back, there's Black soot, Chipped sapphire, Blue print sketch and tumbled glass I believe, I  went back and forth with  a few different ones to make it  look like a night sky.
I splattered with water, white and silver Distress spray stains.
Let it dry over night

For the stamping I've used Versafine Clair
Nocturne ink and for the trees I've used second generation stamping to make them fade to the background, the wolves and  bat are first generation, a couple of times. I have noticed the ink seeps into the Oxides slowly and fades a little.

I have no clever sentiment for it, I love the wolves howling at the moon,  but is it a Halloween card or not? not sure yet ;-)

Wolves are being reintroduced into the Netherlands, so this marks that occasion. in my suburbs we have bats, It's a leafy suburb haha,

This fortnight our sponsor is Winnie and Walter for the ONE layer and Autumn challenge.

For more card I stamped the image from Stamping Bella, playing in the leaves with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink onto Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and coloured it with  Spectrum Noir markers.
The Sentiment is from the Art Impressions set Happy Fall and I used Versafine Clair ink for that.

ONE layer cards are challenging for a lot of people, but I like them, Falls right into my CAS alley ;-)

The Less is More Challenge we pick, you pick, guestdesigner

I'm so honoured to be the Guest designer for the Less is More Challenge blog this fortnight.

The challenge is a recipe: we pick, you pick. And I've picked matt.

Sparkles in the heat embossing and enamel dots and matt in the Distress Oxides and enamel dots :-D

For my card I masked off the cardbase and then applied Distress Oxides:  Spun Sugar and  Seedless Preserves. Heat set it before stamping the Hi from Woodware  (jgs670-hello) with  Versamark ink and applied Wow! embossing powder (Hot Gossip).

Then I stamped the other bit of the
sentiment from the same Woodware set with Versafine Claire ink.

Applied my enamel dots.

Monsterhugs interactive card

That's the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week: interactive cards, showcasing Lawn Fawn products.

At first I had a slider card in mind, but not the right Lawn Fawn Stamps, so I made a rotating card with the Lawn Fawn Monsters from Monster Mash. I stamped them with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and colored them with Nuvo Alcohol markers. I do have the thinlits to go with them, but I wanted an extra lip at the bottom, so I cut them by hand. The extra lip is to glue them onto a ring or cardstock.

The ring of cardstock rotates around a wall of foamtape I cut really thin and made the ring shape on the cardbase.

Added the monsters and a cover plate with the sentiment.

Because the Male Room Challenge has also started today: add embellishments, I thought I'd combine them as I added a rainbow of enamel dots on opposite corners, to match my rainbow of monsters.

Updated October 10th:

Ski-sons Greetings

I made this card for the CAS section of the My Favorite Things (MFT) Superstar challenge.

For my card I inkblended Distress oxides through a circle stencil. I made the snowy hill by tearing some typing paper.
I've used: Wilted violet, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon.

Then I  spritzed gold shimmer spray on top and added white splatter with diluted  white acrylic paint.

For the image and sentiment I've used the MFT set Skisons Greetings and colored it with Alcohol markers. Stamped it with Extreme black ink and the sentiment with Versafine Clair ink.
mounted the image with foamtape and added it to the cardbase. Then added three enamel dots for a fun detail, all contained in the circle to keep is as Clean and Simple as possible.
For some this might even be too CAS ;-) but I like  this.

Monochrome

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: monochrome.

For my card I've masked of an area on my cardbase and applied (original) Distress inks:Tumbled glass, Mermaid lagoon and Faded jeans.
I then stamped the image from Creative Expressions (Secret Woodland) with Memento Paris Dusk, same as the sentiment from Studio Light (stampsl154).
the sky is more even in real life, I think the flash added too much contrast, will make a new one tomorrow.

Three blue rhinestones to keep it in the color family.

Autumn colours

I made this card for the AAA September card exchange, but the Male Room Challenge is also about autumn, and weirdly enough I had and idea for AAA immediately and the Male room challenge is about to expire as I had no clue. I think this card is both male or female, maybe a bit more on the male side?

For the card I masked off an area on my cardbase and applied Distress ink (mustard seed, carved pumpkin, candied apple and fired brick), then splattered it with gold Distress spray stain and dried it with my heat tool.
Stamped the leaves  on top  and the sentiment below with Versafine Clair ink, the leaves are from Marianne Design ( TC0876) and the sentiment is from Simon Says
Stamp (it's your birthday).

Done!.

AAA Cards Challenge #149 Up to 1/3 + inlaid diecut with video

This fortnight our challenge is : use up to 1/3 with the optional twist of an inlaid diecut.

Our sponsor is: Funky Fossil Designs with a 15 GBP store credit.

For my cards I used the Simon Says Stamp "you are my favorite" die. I diecut it once from a white panel and once from an inkblended panel.

To inkblend I've used Distress Oxides: Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry. For the male version I've used: Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough and Peacock Feathers

To put the inkblended letter into the white panel I put Scotch tape on the back of the white panel, so the letters would stick. I kept the inner bits of the O and A and the like.

Adhered the panel to the cardbase.
Completed the card with three matching enamel dots.

Typography Christmas

The Less is More Challenge is: Typography.

Not sure what it entailed, but seeing the examples from the DT, I feel it's about giving the stamped sentiment the headlights....I hope.

Again the link up thing isn't open for another hour, so I made this card and blogpost in the mean time.

I've used the Tim Holtz Holiday Knit stencil, covered by a circle stencil on the cardbase. I've applied Distress Oxides through it. the Holiday Knit is very intricate and it moved, so you can see a bit of fussy inking.

Stamped the sentiment form Craft Emotions on top with Versafine Clair ink. Fijne Kerst,
mean nice or happy Christmas. Fine Christmas doesn't sound the same in English haha.

Few rhinestones and an enamel dot, do add some bling on the one layer card.

I'm dreaming of a....beach Christmas

This weeks it's all about adding bling to  our projects for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: bling it on, showcasing StampingBella products.

For my cards I used the StampingBella Rosie and Bernie in a bus stamp and Instense black ink from SSS and Alcohol markers tocolor the image.
I then matted the panel and adhered green glitter card on the cardbase for my bling,

Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it on top.

Koala-ty

The Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday Challenges are: Stamp it,showcasing Stamptember or SSS exclusives.

I haven't gotten anything new yet,but I used the Simon Says Stamp Koalaty friend set and stamped it with Intense black ink on watercolor paper. then partial diecut the circle and fussy cut the koala to finish the window.

I colored the image with Polychromos pencils.

Then I inkblended Distress Oxides ( Cracked pistachio and Evergreen Bough) on the cardbase. splattered it with water and dried it with my heat tool.

Mounted the panel with  foamtape and adhered it onto the cardbase.
I added a little gel pen to the Koala's eyes and nose.

Merry & Bright

I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: something clear.
I do not have any Visible Image products, so I used Simon Says Stamp stamps and Altenew  &.

The something clear mean shaker window to me. And I thought the Altenew  mega ampersand was perfect.
for the Merry and Bright words I chopped up a Simon Says Stamp sentiment from the Christmas set, it's and older one, but a goodie. I did the Merry in Wow opaque bright white and the Bright in Verdigris as I wanted it to have a bright color, which is difficult on the slate cardstock. In hindsight, maybe white would have been smarter, easier to on the narrow font, but there you   go...next one ;-)....

Might make another tomorrow morning hehe...I filled the shaker with colorful star confetti to reinforce the bright feeling,
Closed the shaker with more slate cardstock.

Have a swell birthday

The new AAA Birthday Challenge is: use a stencil.

So I used two haha....One round one to  mask off an area and on top the wavy stencil from Simon Says Stamp.

The image and sentiment are from Craftin Desert Divas (waves) and I stamped the image with My Favorite Things Extreme Black and the sentiment with Versafine Clair ink.

Coloured the image with Nuvo Alcohol markers and cut it out, then mounted it with foamtape.

For the cardbase I masked of the circle with
a diy  stencil (acetate with a hole basically),laid the waves stencil on top and applied Distress Oxides in Mermaid lagoon and Tumbled glass. Sprayed it with Shimmer Spritz in the Frost version for some shimmer as if the sun is shining on the water. Not sure you can tell on the photo.

Adhered my crocodile or alligator on top.

AAA Cards Challenge #148 Sketch + Animals , with video

This Fortnight our challenge is a sketch and the optional twist is : animals.

Our sponsor is Crafty Scrappers and you could win two digi stampsets.

I made two cards, one video, for the first card I rotated the sketch 90 degrees,so the  bar is at the left side.
I stamped the Art Impressions Cat Stackers and the sentiment from Stamping Bella (Courtney loves kitties) with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and colored it with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.
I only have the 24 pack of pencils, so to get a variety of cats was a challenge, but I think they turned out great, I filled in the sides with blue to reinforce the sketch.
Sadly I don't have the sentiment in the set, but I probably wouldn't have used it as it didn't fit  this way.

For the second card, I used the digi set from Craftyscrappers (waving hello). I placed them  on muy cardfront with Photoshop, keeping the sketch in mind
. Printed it and then colored it with Nuvo Alcohol markers and free handed the "sea". Nuvo shimmer pen on the mermaid tails and the fishes, cos they should be shiny....and slimey haha...I'm sorry the photo is a little dark.

The card with the Mummy is also a digi from our sponsor. I printed it on the Crafter's Companion marker paper and cut it out. The strip is masked and then inkblended like the sand dunes around Egypt...I hope..I thought they would fit the mummy. the sentiment is from the same set and I printed it on the cardpanel before inkblending. Added the mummy with foamtape.
