AAA Cards Challenge #193: Sketch + Critters, with video

This fornight we're playing with a sketch over at AAA Cards Challenges and the optional twist of Critters was chosen by Joy.

For my card I flipped the sketch upside down, you can do that as long as we can see the sketch in your card.

I've masked off a strip at the bottom and instead of making it straight I went for grass as I thought critters live in grass, hadn't decided on which critter I would use just yet, but figured you can't go wrong with grass. Applied Distress ink Mowed lawn and for the "sun" Mustard seed and carved pumpkin.

Now I went with the circle in the sketch, but offset it a little as my cardbase if rectangular,

not square as in the example. but as it could be any shape, my gnome could have been the circle with in the sketch. I just thought this would look more recognizable.

the Gnome was in my precoloured stash and is from StampinBella (the Gnome and the Birdie). For the sentiment I went with one from Woodware stamps (Good Friends set) and stamped it with Versafine ink and then heat set it.

Mounted the Gnome with foamtape and adhered it on top.

Monogram

The new Less is More Challenge is : ONE layer and Monogram....pfff that threw me

My Initials are really not the prettiest, especially the U...but hey.

For my card I decided if I did a monogrammed card it still had to be "me", so I 've used a funky font and printed my initials with my laserprinter, so I could foil them.

But before foiling I added the butterflies from Concord and  9th (Butterfly Beauty), stamped them with Memento ik on the cardbase.

Took Rose Gold Thermoweb foil and passed it through the laminator.

I think pewter would also be nice.

I'm sorry about the angle, need to catch the shiny surface...

Octopi Guys

#19 and the last in my Whimsy Stamps Fan month :-(. I have many more stampsets left I didn't use, ah well...there might be a sequel? We'll see

Today I have used the recently released Octopi Guys the stamp set I mentioned was on it's way in an earlier video.

Remember I placed them all in a nice playlist if you want to revisit them or if you're just joining in.
I thought it was perfect for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: we can see clearly now.

Summer fun

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Animal Antics.

For my cards I 've used an array of Whimsy stampsets ( Simple Sentiment Strips, Hippo Fun in the Sun, Hippo Beach fun, Dragons fishing).

I stamped them al on Copic safe paper and colored them with different alcohol markers (Copic, Triblend, Graph-it Brush markers).

For the Backgrounds I've inkblended Distress Oxide on Craft card. (Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean), Splattered with water, white ink and Normal Distress ink Blue Print sketch, which kinda faded into the background.

I thought the kraft could be the beach and the blue the sea or lake.

I've stamped the sentiment with Versafine

black ink.

Mounted the critters with foamtape to adhere it to the cardbase.

AAA Cards Challenges #192: One Corner_+ Childhood memories, with video

This Fortnight the AAA Cards Challenge is: One Corner+ Childhood Memories as a twist. The twist was chosen by Ishani.

As I say in the video I mention I say I think I was read bedtime stories when little, but that was  about half a century ago, so I can't remember, sorry I'm old haha.It probably is someone's childhood memory though...

For the card I printed a free digi from Sliekje Stamps you can find on her blog.

I had to print it twice to make sure it was tucked in the corner as much as possible, so ignore the backside  of the panel.

I coloured the image with fineliner

alcoholmarkers from Graph-it.

Adhered the panel with tape runner to a cardbase.

Forget me not

The new Less is More Challenge is pale blue and yellow and that immediately sparked Forget- me-nots in my head.

So I went on the look out for a digi stamp and found many, but one I liked enough to  buy it. It's from Buddly Crafts.

Added the sentiment in Photoshop and printed it with my laser printer , then coloured with Talens Ecoline watercolours., matted it on the cardbase.

Some of the yellow mingles with the blue, and left the stem uncoloured cos green is not in the challenge.

Challenge, see this.

Christmas Craft Creations Challenge, June theme: Heat embossing

Christmas Craft Creations Challenge, June theme: Heat embossing.

For my card I used the Nellie Snellen Wreath builder stencils and cut my card to  fit 12.5cm square.

For the snowflakes I've used My Favorite Things Simply Snowflakes and Versamark ink.

I have stamped and heat embossed each snowflake and each colour one by one as I didn't want to smudge the power or ink, quite the labour of love, but it looks pretty.

For the snowflakes I've used Wow embossing powders:  Opaque prinary frozen, Under the sea,Oceanic and for the sentiment  Metallic Silver regular.

The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things, from the set Bitty Holiday wishes.

For the cardbase I cut an A4 sheet lengthwise at 14.85cm and folded it in half.

Mounted the panel with snowflakes onto the cardbase with foamtape and the same with the sentiment strip.

AAA Birthday Challenges #26 Flowers, with video

 This month the AAA Birthday
Challenge is: flowers.

For my card I've used a die/stampset from Marianne Design (col1379)
Off camera I diecut it from three colours of pink card and the freem stem, I've also embossed the details before filming. I've put double sided tape on the back of the coloured card, so the bits become salf adhesive, like stickers.
The dies are designed to cut, emboss details and then to ink those details. For that I've used Distress oxides as they would show up on the darker cardstock.

The sentiment is from Impression Obsessions and I've srtamped it with Versafine ink.
Then I've splattered the backgorund with Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust.
Mounted the whole twig together on a slant.

For more information on the AAA Birthday Challenges, see this.

I made a second card today , with critter this time ;-) it's from Crafter's Companion Mulberry Wood collection and the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Laugh out loud, colored with Zig Clean Color real brush pens

Have a colorful Birthday

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Masculine, schowcasing Tim Holtz.

For my card I've used the Distress inks refills from Tim Holtz.

I've used them on watercolor paper  in two colorful  compositions. I've used the wet in wet technique and then splattered with Finetec Gold watercolor paper.

Then diecut them  with the Craft Emotions set (115633/0270). I've cut a black panel to line my cardbase, I thought that would be more masculine and it also makes the colors pop.

The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp (one in a chameleon) and embossed it with Opaque Bright white super fine embossing powder from Wow.

The Male Room Challenges #151: Dads and Grandads

The June challenge for the Male Room is: Dads and Granddads, it's Father's day over here on the 20th of  June.

I didn't go for a Father's day card, but birthday with a snarky sentiment.

Both the image and sentiment are from Art Impressions (Birthday Laugh Lines). I've stamped the image with My Favorite Things Extreme black and coloured it with Copics, Spectrum Noir and Graph it markers. Cut it out with the Scan N Cut.

For the background I masked of an area and applied Distress inks, Speckled egg and Peacock Feathers, I wanted it manly coloured but not matchy matchy. I

then stamped the dentures from the same Art Impressions set randomly across the area. Mounted the image with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

Stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink. Chronically challenged made me giggle...I think I am too ;-) haha.
