A cup full of Happiness

 

Hello today I'm using the Whimsy Stamps digi: A cup full of happiness.

It's a cup full of carrots that is sure to make any bunny happy. I chose to make it a birthday card, but Hello Spring or Happy Easter would also be perfect.

I don't seem to have any Easter sentiments or didn't find them .

I printed the digi, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers.

For the background I mad a mask with the smallest of the dies in the Mix and Match Marquee set, also Whimsy Stamps. I thought it could look like a picket fence of sorts, I chose similar and fun colors of Distress inks: Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Twisted Citron.

 Hello, today I'm using one of the new digis from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike: Chocolate Bunny.

The sentiment is from the Kindness is Contagious set, also Whimsy Stamps.

I thought they went well together maybe it needed Quotes, but hey if you thought a Bunny, especially the Easter kind, would be helpful, that's on you ;-).

I colored the image with alcoholmarkers and I wanted it to look like chocolate bunnies and also those marhsmellow peeps. Some details with a white gel pen and foamtape to mount the image.

The cardbase is inkblended with Distress inks: Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn.

AAA Card Challenge #286: Follow my Lead

 Hello, this fortnight we have a Follow my Lead card. Our leader is Kristin and she wants us to follow the card that was her DT call entry. In Kristin's card I see an inblended and diecut fern or palm(?) frond, but I don't have that and so to give it my twist I inkblended and diecut a moon with flowers from Decotime.

I sized the die on a cardpanel and inkblended Distress inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Salvage Patina; trying to keep the yellow to the moon shape, but it's a hollow moon, so much was lost I didn't anticipate, oh well, still like it.

Then on the leader's card there's some splattering and a sentiment, I did black and pearl colored shiny ink splatter and the Moon sentiment is from the same Decotime set.

AAA Colourful Challenge #14: mar-apr

 

This month we have a yellow and green theme and I have to say, it wasn't my favourite, it reminds me too much of a Dutch Football club, but I came up with a card I kinda like.

I swiped Distress inks onto some panels of cardstock ( Squeezed lemonade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness), adhered some double sided adhevise on the back of these panels, so when I diecut the words, they become stickers.

I've used the Leane Creatief NL teksten for this and even the little dots inside the letters have now become a sort of embellishment,

And I made another card, with Marianne Design paint tube I got in January (Marianne Design LR0857), Same Distress colours and Whimsy Stamps Cutie ABC dieset.

Hey Ho let's not go

 Hello, today I'm using one of the new Whimsy Stamps digital stamps: Bunny Coffee from the Dustin Pike line.

I prepped the image  and printed it, colored then cut it out ( I think the Scan n Cut needs calibrating :-( )

If I stuck to my normal routine I would have cut it first, but I colored when I was at work, stupid..don't look at it too much ;-)

I then cut some sort of grass from green card and inkblended yellow Distress ink on the cardbase, I thought that looks Easter like.

The sentiment I made up and printed with the digi, it's a play on a famour Ramones songs...Bunny doesn't look eager to get going until he's had his coffee.

AAA Card Challenge #285: Anything CAS goes

 

Hello this fortnight we have an Anything CAS goes challenge, with the optional twist of Spring/Spring Colors.

For my card, I diecut the Happy from pink card I colored myself with Distress ink Picked Raspberry and placed it on the cardbase. Then I stamped the Birthday from Happy  saying stamps set. So far both are Whimsy Stamps products.

Then I decided to tuck in some ephemera from Simple Stories ( floral bits). Pink, green, yellow sure say Spring to me and if not, it's still Anything CAS goes haha.

AAA Birthday Card Challenge #71: masculine

 

Hello this month we celebrate all things Masculine.

I didn't plan on using this image, but I was rummaging through my stash and I thought a stag looks manly and magnificent, maybe if the person getting this card is a hunter or outdoorsey kind of man?

Don't know, but I liked it, it's actually a Christmas stamp but to me it feels like it's carved out of wood.

The stamp is really old from Craft Sensations and no longer available at Action.

I stamped it and the sentiment (Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment Strips) with Versafine black ink, let it dry.

The I meant to apply Distress inks (Salvaged patina, Shaded Lilac and Tumbled Glass) but I found there was enough ink on my brushes to give a hint of colour. I used home made masks with circle openings, I wanted it to have a big of colour and I thought these were kinda manly on the cold side of the rainbow.

AAA Card Challenge #284: Sketch

 Hello, this fortnight we have a sketch. As always you can rotate or flip the sketch as long as we can see it.

For my card I inkblended Distress inks trough circle cutouts: Tumbled Glass, Salvaged Patina and Cracked Pistachio.

Stamped the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) with Memento Nautical Blue ink.

The fishes are diecut from white cardstock and they are from Marianne Design (Cr1657)

 Hello, this month we have a fan favorite: a rainbow.

I for my card I used and Action Stencil, that is a set of 5 but has no brand, also I don't think it's still available as Action is funny that way.

I inkblended Distress inks through the stencil (Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry. Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed)

Splattered the cardfront  with gold ink.

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted (Brush Greetings II)

Hello, today I'm using a new digi from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike: Mardi gras.

There's 3 in the set and also sentiments.

I've used the alligator and a sentiment, to which I've added Relax....I thought it was funny.

I printed the digi and sentiment, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers.

I partial diecut one of the boho circles so I would get a straight top.

Then cut around the crown or jester hat? not entirely sure, we don't do mardi Gras here.

For the background I traced the opening onto the cardbase and applied Distress inks: Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron.

Adhered the image to the frame, making sure the hat/crown sticks out, then mounted the frame with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase. Added the sentiment.

AAA Card Challenge #283: Color Challenge

Another new kind of challenge we came up with: 4 color tiles and you should use at least 3, you can use neutrals, for say skin and or fur and black and white for stamping and sentiment. The colors don't have to be an exact match, as close as you can get them.

I used all 4 in my Distress color palette (Speckled Egg,  Weathered Wood, Iced Spruce and Pine Needles)

For my card I masked off a portion on the cardbase and inkblended Speckled Egg and Weathered Wood, for my blue-ish greys, then splattered with water.

I diecut really old Clearly Besotted dies (on the line dies) masked off on the bottom and dragged the other  two colors over the trees and houses ( Iced Spruce and Pine Needles).

Mounted them on the cardbase, on top of each other.

The sentiment is also Clearly Besotted: Tiny Type and I stamped it with a morning mist Versafine Clair ink, thought it would match better than black.

AAA Birthday Cards Challenge #70: ink smooshing

 Hello this month the theme is Ink Smooshing and my card used the ink smooshing a bit differently.

Granted I started by covering a whole cardsize panel of Clairefontaine Aquapad paper wit Distress inks (Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet), I aided myself of a piece of acetate, but I didn't like it, too musy for my CAS heart, so instead I chose the bits I liked most and diecut the sentiment out of it.

For this I use dthe Whimsy Stamps Birthday Wishes Word Dieset, I made a shadow layer our of black card so it would pop from the back ground.

On the cardbase I splatttered some Studio Mow Glitter Spray in black and let it dry.

The when I adhered the sentiments I had a bit of a brain fart and attached the Birthday where I  wanted Whishes, so the sentiment is on the lower half and that was not for the sake of the splatter, although that could be my story..hehe..nono it's all by design ;-) The sentiments were raised a little with foamtape.

Winter is for Sleeping

 

Hello, today I'm using the Whimsy Stamps digi: Sleepy Bear; it's from the Dustin Pike line.

I prepped the image, thought of a funny sentiment, then  printed it and colored the image with Tri Blend markers and cut it out. I've used the Simple Sentiment strips dies for the sentiment, didn't mean to do it on a slant, but hey, so to make it look intentional I also adhered the sentiment on a slant.

For the card base I applied Distress inks through a mask: Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron.

Mounted the image and sentiment with foamtape.

Hello, today I'm using a new digi from Whimsy Stamps and the Dustin Pike Line: Key to my heart.

Obviously it's for Valentine's day , but I thought the lock and key might be to a new home, a new car as well, first appartment.

I printed the image, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers.

For the cardbase I thought I could make my inkblending look like  the shape of a house, so I masked it off like it and applied Distress ink: Speckled Egg, Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers.

I used the fence from a Whimsy Clear set: Friends like ewe, for that white picket fence idea, except I made it grey with Morning Mist ink from Versafine as I wanted it in the background and white would pop too much.

I mounted the image with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

The Welcome I made with the Whimst Stamps Cutie ABC  die set. I colored white cardstock with Peacock Feathers ink, so it matches. Before diecutting I put soem double sided tape on the back, so the letters become stickers.

Adhered the Welcome in a whimsical way, to make it fit but also because the shape of the alphabet.

AAA Cards Challenge #282: Follow my lead (Marlies' Lead)

 Hello, this fortnight we have a fun new kind of challenge where one of our Design Team members made a card you should try to emulate, copy or build on, basically it's a sketch kind of thing. They also call it CASE my card, but I thought Follow my lead was much more intuitive...I hope ;-)

Marlies made the first card to follow and I did, but flipped the design so the reindeer pointed inwards and not to the edge of the card, it looks better in my opinion.

I also paired down the amount of layers and elements to make it more me, I did a gold detail instead of red and added a Merry Christmas sentiment..in January, I know I know.

I diecut many more pieces but didn't use them, they were there in case I need them.

The Reindeer is from Newton's Nook and I have no idea how old it is (Splendid Stags).

The Holly is from Avec Love 2 Craft (sold at Action) also old, in fact everything is or has bee in my stash for a while.

the little bauble/ornament was a gift with an order at La Coppia Creativa.

The snowflake is from Precious Marieke (PM10143 Winter Flowers)

The gold cardstock is from Studio Light A5 pack.

The sentiment I printed with my laser printer and then foiled in gold with my laminator/Minc machine.

I adhered the elements to the card with liquid glue and the stag with foamtape.

AAA Colourful Challenge #12 Jan-Feb

 

Hello, this month our colourboard sure is geared  up towards Valentine's day, but I made a birthday card..I don't do Valentine ;-)

For it I diecut the Spellbinders seahorse (Luna the Seahorse) from cardstock I coloured with Distress inks: Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo.

I colored the eye and cheek  afterwards, the dies cut it, so I just coloured them  and set them back, this is easy with a little bit of sticky take on the back of the seahorse.

For the background I used a circle mask and only added ink on one side. I first used whatever blue was left on my brush as I thought sea or water is blue, not pink. Didn't like it though so I made tried to sway it towards the pink/purple, with whatever was left on my purple brush, then tried to hide it with water splatters....nope..So I made another with just ink left on my pink brush, also splattered with water.

The sentiment is from Studio Katia (Mini  Birthday Greeting) and I stamped it with Versafine ink. It doesn't look that mini to me by the way, but hey, it's pretty.

Happy Valentine's day

 Hello, today I have a card with the newest digi from Whimsy Stamps and the Dustin Pike line.

I'ts called the Gift of love and it is 1 of 2 new released digistamps.

I printed it and colored it with a bunch of alcohol markers, I mixed and matched a few brands, then cut it out.

For the background I masked off the bottom of my cardfront and applied Distress inks above it: Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar and splattered it with water.

For the sentiment I colored a piece of cardstock with the same Picked Raspberry, on the back I'd put double sided tape and cut it out with the Happy Large Word die.

The "Valentine's day" is from Happy Sayings and I've used Versafine Morning Mist.

I adhered the Happy to the cardbase and mounted the image with foamtape first then adhered it to the card too.

Some white gel pen details to make the heart and nose and eyes shine.

Happy New Year

 

Hello, Happy New Year, I believe today is the last day we're allowed to say it?

 Not sure but don't care, it's always good to be nice to others, right?

For my card I used a Whimsy Stamps digi from the Sylvia Zet line: Celebrate.

At first I thought I can't cut around all those swirly bits, so I diecut the image with the Marque set, and to make a backgorund I traced the shape of the die with colored markers..it looked bette rin my head, so I pit the image aside for a few days and decided to just try and fussy cut the ting, I did chop off a few, sorry.

I colored it with Ohuhu markers and Triblend markers and mounted the image with foam tape.

For this background, I wanted to make a night sky as the little bunny is in a rocket. Shooting into the New Year?

I applied Distress inks trough a circle mask: Villainous Poison, Chipped Sapphire and Prize Ribbon, then splattered with water and silver paint for stars, I did splatter the stars outside the circle, or planet , I thought that was cute.

The sentiment is from Dragon New Year a clear set from Whimsy Stamps and I've ised Versafine ink.

Adhered the image onto the card once everything was dry.

AAA Cards Challenge #281: Anything CAS Goes

 

This fortnight the AAA Cards Challenge is: Anything CAS Goes with the optional Twist of Flies through the air. For my card I've used Nellie's Choice DaDa Dies  (DDD024).  I diecut everything from Colored cardstock. Not sure the white airplane was a good idea, but hey ho...with the blue is definitely gives off KLM vibes.

For the cardbase I've used what ever blue was left on my ink blending brush and a Marianne design Stencil (PS8024)

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted (Brushed Sentiment) and I stamped it with Versafine black ink.

 Hello this month at the AAA Birthday Card Challenges, we're all about Winter.

For my card I masked off an area at the top of the card and inkblended Distress inks (Shaded Lilac and Tumbled Glass), Splattered with white paint for snow flakes.

The image is a diecut from Marianne design. (LR0740) and I diecut it from the same white cardstock as the cardbase, I contemplated black, but I thought it would look too stark.

Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and I stamped it with Memento Ink (Summer Sky)
