The Friday Mashup Challenge #211: watercolor fun!

The Friday Mashup Challenge #211: watercolor fun!

I've used 300gram Hot pressed smooth watercolor paper from Schut and Distress inks for my panel.
The Sentiment is from Simon Says stamp, birthday balloons and I've stamped that with Staz-on.
Few home made enamel dots and rhinestones.
Mounted the watercolor with foamtape once dry and flattened.
Had some tape leaks, but left them as that's what happens and adds to the hand made feeling ;-)

I'm sorry the picture is a little pale...tried to make it darker but then the colouring went all weird...

Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesdays Challenge May 2015: rainbow

Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesdays Challenge May 2015: rainbow.

Ofcourse I had to use my new stuff ;-), so...
I've used the Simon Says Stamp die Dotted line, with the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp birthday balloons.

RAised the panel with the dotted opening and sentiment on foam tape and placed a rainbow colored strip behind it. I've used my Spectrum Noir markers for that.

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #188

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #188.

I've used the Baby Party Animals from Simon Says stamp for all the stamping ;-).
Colored the images with my Spectrum Noir and Copic alcohol markers, background too.
Few sequins in same hues.
Raised the window panel with foam tape so I could arrange the kitty and present behind it.

Simon Says Stamp haul

a while back I won the Monday challenge and was rewarded with a voucher for the Simon Says Stamp shop.

I forgot to add that new awesome smile die in a circle, boohoo, but I'm so happy with the items I got...so if you'll excuse me..I'll be crafting till the wee hours ;-) hehehe
thank you Simon Says Stamp ! you rock!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes and Avery Elle

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes and Avery Elle.
I have one Avery Elle stampset and it's Let it snow.
Some Avery Elle storage pockets and Pigment ink, so.....

Used the little birdie from the stampset as a light bulb or bunting.
Drew some strings and stamped the bird on them.
The sentiment is from Sizzix and I stamped that with pigment inks, some overlapping and the green p.e. is made out of two colours to make it the bright citrus green like colour.
Coloured the bird "lamps" with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers in the shades of the sentiment.
mounted the panel with foamtape.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: thank you

Simon Says Stamp  Monday Challenge: thank you.

this wasn't my first card, not even going to show you what my sleepy brain came up with at 6 am ;-) no..don't ask...no..lol it was a good idea using the Simon Says stamp thanks on a line, just the execution was a fail, for me anyway, my boyfriend likes it.

Anyway went back to think. I thought to use this bold  (Dutch for) thank you die. Firstly just a plain cut out with glitter paper behind, but then I wanted to make my own patterned paper, so I used Crate paper die "confetti" to inlay the flowers and leaves.
then die cut the "bedankt" out and raised it with black foam.
Mounted the flower panel onto cardstock also with black foam.

Less is More Challenge #225: use some metal

Less is More Challenge #225: use some metal.
For my metal I used something from the hardware store...sticky back aluminium ( i think) tape, commonly used with laying floors ( i think)..I don't know I just got it because it was pretty and shiny ;-)....

I've embossed the tape to get the flowers in there, taped it to the cardfront ( you must be careful doing this or it wrinkles) added some washi tape and a diecut hello from the same stuff.

The Friday Mashup Challenge #210

This week the Friday Mashup Challenge is butterflies and lace.
I have the one butterfly die and I used it to make a mask.
I stamped th butterflies with pigment ink to fill the cut out. I then traced the outline with black and added some grey shading with alcohol markers to give depth and anchor the butterfly.
I was trying to  make all the small butterflies look like lace,  I think that might have worked if I had used one colour...not sure maybe i'll try it on black with embossing powder one day ;-)

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #125: Colours

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #125: Colours.
I don't have Stampin'up products, so I used my Distress inks as watercolours and I think they're a very close match.
I traced the stencil in the corner of some watercolour paper with a Sharpie and filled the shapes in.
I used some Iridescerent medium from Windsor & Newton to dilute the Distress inks so it has a nice shimmer.
Don't  think it shows up well on the photo though.
Simple but fun font greeting from Sizzix.

Inkspirational challenge #82: recipe

Inkspirational challenge #82: recipe use at least 3 of these: flowers, embossing, pearls, distressing.
I've used embossing paste, perfect pearls powder, pearls as embellishments, and Distress inks for the background and banner.
On my first attempt at this card I've used embossing powder to cover the flowers, but..yuck...

On the final card I've used embossing paste through a stencil and dusted the wet embssing paste with perfect pearls. I hope you can see the shine.

Had to wait thill this stencil I ordered came in, Ive only partially covered it with embossing paste to get the drifting feeling...

I don't have many colored embossing powders so had to make due, but I can't say I love it, I like it, but I don't love it, so discarded this one.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: stencil it with the Crafter's workshop

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: stencil it with the Crafter's workshop.
I've use the Art is stencil. When I ordered it I didn't realize it was the 12"x12" one, so until today it hadn't been used, it isn't really fit for cards...But I think I made it work ;-)
I first used it as a stamp on watercolor paper by inking Distres inks (mermaid lagoon and Cracked pistachio) and spraying it with water. then lifting a print with the watercolor paper.
Let that dry.
I've then used parts of the poem of the stencil to ink the "art is just color and shape" with mermaid lagoon.
Few rhinestones to highlight the sentiment.

Lawnscaping Challenge #106: try a new technique...or three....

Lawnscaping Challenge #106: try a new technique...sounds simple enough...it wasn't lol.
I saw Laurel's wonderful video about coloring glitter with markers... Oh am doing that!
I took a shortcut and used glitter paper onto which I stamped my gleeful garden.
that worked!
Started coloring, and that also worked except the colors run, I think in between the glitter particles or something, you can see that well with the dots on glitterpaper  I meant to use as a backdrop ...discarted this idea.
Also the detail in p.e. the snail got lost and redrawing them wasn't a big success.
I think you need to use basic shapes...

This is my Lawn Fawn collection, Not at all big or comprehensive, so coming up with something new every challenge, is a challenge in itself, but that makes me more creative I guess....or I hope lol.

I recently got some Wow embossing powder with glitter, maybe I can recreate the glitter images this way? the blue looked cool, the pink one not so much, I colored the monsters in with the versamarker.  Oh and I don;t know how this happened, but my heat gun blew all the embossing powder all over my desk and lap in a moment of, well I can honestly say, insanity...not thinking things trough...not lol...

So back to Youtube for more ideas, and who has more techniques than the awesome Jennifer McGuire and her pop up stamping inspired me to make the purple card.
Not the same but I took some of the elements for my card. Didn´t want to do the dimension as my background wasn´t very pronounced. I used Wow silver pearl embossing powder for that instead of tone on tone inks.
One tip a whole big background stamp works best as it´s very hard to line this up 3 times the same...just a note if you want to try this.
Lawn Fawn´s scripty love and the background is  from sharp backdrops. I thought the arrows would go well with the hearts , like Cupid's arrows or something...
The hearts are from Memory box but they looks somewhat like a die Lawn Fawn has, I don´t have it.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: XYZ

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: xyz...

pff stumped...
this wasn't my first card, the other is in the bin.
I looked up abc of colors on Wikipedia, there's Xanadu (grey), Zomp ( a tealish blue), Yale and Yankee blue, Yellow ofcourse, Zaffre, and more.
At first I used Spectrum Noir markers to color the cardstock and then bleached out areas through a stencil..These are so not my colors, so I really didn't like it.

Thought about doing and x and y axe diagram thing, but then I came up with this.
I used yellow and Zomp
Lawn Fawn's Finley's abc to die cut the xo xo (you know for the x in the challenge)
The sentiment is stamped with Simon Says stamp black ink.

I could have toned down the yellow and blue and gone for pastels, and although not my colors, I like it as these are opposite on the color wheel and they make each other pop, if I had toned it down, it wouldn't be as striking.

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #124: sketch

I found another great challenge blog via AAA cards blog and via Victoria's new blog that collects and lists all challenges, great job on looking4challenges

So first time finding and entering CAS colours & sketches.
I've made a square base from A4 size cardstock.
made a panel slighlty smaller and diecut 3 squares out of it, positioned like the sketch.
I've traced the position onto the cardbase and sponged some Distress inks in those squares, to colour the backdrop.
I've stamped part of the sentiment from Lawn Fawn's gleeful gardens on the top panel and also the images with Memento black ink and coloured them with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, then die cut them and placed them inside the raised panel.
Hope you like it, I do..;-)

Sparkle & Shine Challenge #6: sponsored by Winnie & Walter

For the Sparkle and Shine CHallenge #6 I first stamped a rose, then die cut a circle and a rectangle to make a vase, but then was left with a shaker card...again...nope don't want to enter another shaker again!
Sadly that was the only rose stamp I have, so I went online and downloaded this coloring page from Supercoloring.com and adjusted the size to fit my need and printed it out on alcohol marker friendly paper.
I've added the stem as that wasn't part of the drawing.

Colored it with Spectrum Noir markers

Added Glossy accents as dew drops and a few silver colored sequins (which I think are Pretty Pink Posh)  a silver Hello  die cut from Simon Says Stamp.
On top of the sequins I've also added some glossy accents.
Mounted it on a similar colored mat and raised it with foam tape.

There was also a coloring page with roses in vases, but I prefered this one, even though the other was more fitting with the inspiration image...

Less is More Challenge #224 : hello sunshine

Less is more challenge #224: hello sunshine.
I made a one layer card. Used a circle die to make a mask of the sun.
Sponged that with Distress inks ( mustard seed and fossilized amber).
Stamped the cherry blossom tree in Memento ink and the sentiment too.
Added 3 pearls as blossoms.

I thought about adding a bit of blue for the sky, but I really wanted to keep it as CAS as possible.
Even the sentiment seems  a bit big on hindsight..;-)

Yesterday Whilst putting plastic in the recycling container the metal flap of the container squashed my hand, or finger tops actually, one finger in particular is all blue and bashed up, swollen and stiff...but it won't keep me from crafting...lol...altough it's a bit more challenging now...anyway...

Sketch Saturday Challenge #360

I found another challenge blog through commenting on entries by other partecipants
on other challenges.

This is the first time I take part in the Sketch Saturday Challenge.

It's a fabulous blog, so I encourage you to visit too.

For my card I  stamped "Cheers bear" from Lili of the Valley with Staz-on on watercolor paper.
I've colored the image with Peerless watercolors.

It doesn't look like it in the picture, but the bow of the present is the same color as the cardstock. I've added a white piece on the inside so you can write a message.
The happy brithday is from Sizzix (birthday stampset by Stephanie Bernard)
I've used different lilac strips that complement the background cardstock, one is glittery and fun.
