Whimsy Stamps Hello and shaker

Hi, this week I've been playing on the beach...not really just in the garden and I found some sand that reminded me of the beach, I made a beach themed shaker card with it and it,s not the first one this week :-D I love it as much as glitter I think. For the sand look at the pet isle (Birdcage sand) or sandpits, or if you lift a tile like i did there's probably sad, the ants push it up as well while they burrow, otherwise there's the sand at diy stores or decoration isle, yoiu might even find colored sand there. So many options.

Back to the card: I diecut the Hello word and show dieset out of my card front, then took the Sunshine stamp from Sending Sunshine and stamped it with Versafine ink, let it dry.

In the meantime I made a background panel on watercolor paper with Distress inks (Chipped Sapphire, Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass). I just swiped them on the acetate for my shaker and sprayed water then pressed that onto the watercolor paper, dried it with the heatgun and then did a few more layers, drying each pass. Splattered it with iridescent watercolor paint, you can't see much of it, might have added too much "beach", but it's there.

Built up the shaker but adding the acetate to the cardpanel with tape runner, then added dimension with foamtape, filled the cavity with my sand , then closed it with the watercolor pane;. added more tape runner and adhered it to a cardbase.

My image is also Whimsy Stamps from the Digi set Beach gnomes, I printed it on Copic  friendly paper, cut it out and then colored it with alcohol markers. Mounted the image with foam tape and placed him in front of the "e", I think you can still get the word, might try to move im, I thought it would look more like the Dutch Hallo, but then Sunshine isn't in Dutch,,,,so nevermind ;-)

AAA Cards Challenge #216 Colour Scheme + Shaker Card

This fortnight we're challenging you to make a CAS shaker card with one or two or more colours from the inspiration badge,

For my card I splattered white acrylic paint onto black cardstock for a milky way effect.

I stamped the image from Clearly Besotted (To the Moon and back) on Copic friendly paper and then coloured it with my Copics, cut it out.

Cut a circle into a cardpanel,

stamped the sentiment, from the same set, heat set it.

Built my shaker with sequins that match the challenge badge.

A cat in yellow, pink, purple or blue? nah I used a neutral, you don't have to use all the colours and neutrals (white, black, greys and browns) are fine, just don't over do them.

For more information or to play along the AAA Cards Challenge, see this.

Use your Stash 2022- #16 Clearly Besotted Stamps. With video

I saw the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Anything Goes, Showcasing Clearly Besotted if you have any, and boy do I have many..hehe

I thought I would film the process for my Use your Stash series as well.

I've used Clearly Besotted Hippo Bird day and Untouchable plushies and the Roundabout stencil.

I already had them stamped and cut out, I use Intense Black ink or MFT  Extreme black ink, can't

remember on Copic safe paper and let the Scan N Cut do  the magic of fussy cutting.

To color it all I've used alcohol markers from Decotime, new to me this week.

Mounted the image with foamtape and stamped the sentiment from the same set with Versafine ink.

Avec Creations domed blending tool- first look and try

Oh Croak!

Hiya This week I'm using the Whimsy Stamp digi stamp: Frog Prince from Sylvia Zet

It comes with a sentiment, that to me felt very Valentine's day like, it's summer so didn't use it and i wanted it to  be a pun.

So whilst I was coloring the image I came up with lots of potential sentiments, but  Oh Croak! I FROGot your birthday is what I decided to use and I printed it on the cardbase. Cut a fun shape out of masking paper and ink blended Distress inks for a fun background that could be a pond, it's up to you what you see in it.

I mounted the Frog with foamtape and adhered it to the card.

You can find the digi in the Wimsy store here: https://whimsystamps.com/products/frog-prince-digital-stamp?_pos=1&_sid=f4c5c8fe7&_ss=r

There's another one similar, if you prefer that style: https://whimsystamps.com/products/frog-prince-digital-stamp-1?_pos=2&_sid=f4c5c8fe7&_ss=r

Options are always good.

rainbows and dinosaurs

There's a new challenge over at Less is More: rainbows.

So naturally I use Distress inks for my rainbow background, I also splattered it  with water..it's mandatory ;-)..not really but it's just a lot of fun.

I inkblended on the card base by masking off the bottom.

the Dinos are a new Whimsy Stamps die set (raur my baby saur) and the sentiment is also Whimsy Stamps (Simple sentiment strips) and I stamped it with Versafine ink,

Added the dinosaur cut outs with liquid glue, I thought black cardstock would make them stand out nicely,

Baby dinos

Isn't this the cutest little Welcome Baby card? with Baby Dinos? I think so ;-)

I've used the Last Minute Manda Baby Dinos, you can find them in her store on Etsy.

I printed them, colored them with Spectrum Triblend Markers and cut them out.

For the cardbase I applied Distress inks through a home made stencil (just hexagons nesting dies ) and whatever ink was left on  my inkblending brushes.

The sentiment I made on the computer.

Mounted the dinos with one or two layers of foamtape and added them to the card.

AAA Cards Challenges #215: NO Layers + Plant, Grow, Farm

This fortnight we're all about NO layers and an optional twist chosen by Sue: Plant/grow/farm. You can interpret this very widely. I used to grow veg, Sue has a farm, but just  sowing a seed or  picking your own is fab too,  and of course you don't have to use the twist, just the NO Layer.

For my card I masked of a rectangle as the stamp from Studio Light is not long enough to fit, I rather chop it off a little and frame it.

After masking I applied Distress inks Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass and whatever was left on my blending tools as always, I don't have one for every colour.

I stamped the Studio Light stamp

(StampSL353) and the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp (it's your Birthday 3x4) with Versafine ink and heat seat it all. Removed the masking tape.

Kitty Cat frame shaker part 2- I finished it according to some suggestio...

Toucan Surf

Hiya, this week I pretend to be at the beach with the Whimsy Stamps digi: Toucan Surf.
I printed it  and colored it with alcohol markers like Spectrum Noir and Graph-it Brush, cut it out.
For my scene I glued white and sand like cardstock, ripped the edges to make it look  like the water's edge.
On the cardbase I stamped the sentiment from  Simple Sentiment  Strips clearstamp, also Whimsy Stamps.
Applied Mermaid Lagoon Distress inks and sprayed with water for texture.
Mounted the image and "beach"with foam tape and adhered it all together.

hi Everyone, I made a Yappy Birthday card with the 4th of July Yorkies, yes I know, but with different colors they could be partying.

Colored with Alcohol markers and Distress inked background with shimmery splatter

you can find the digi on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/nl/listing/1209792521/4th-july-yorkies-digital-stamp-set?click_key=415ccc31aa01c2250dc1ef3b11c9f1c92f316e3c%3A1209792521&click_sum=5a804342&ga_search_query=july&ref=shop_items_search_3&sts=1

BBQ time, or is it?

This week I've used the Dragon BBQ digi from Whimsy stamps.

Prepped image and sentiment  on the pc, printed it and then colored it with alcohol makers, matted the panel and adhered it to the cardbase with foamtape.

Not just CAS but also QAE (quick and easy), I like to color watching a little show or movie on the pc, time well spent ;-)

I thought the sentiment was funny and perfect for this image and I took inspiration from a meme about brownies I saw a few years ago.

I had Father's day in mind, it's in June in the Netherlands, might be different, but it's also cool for any Masculine birthday or just to make someone giggle.

You can find the digi in the Whimsy store:  https://whimsystamps.com/products/dragon-bbq-digital-stamp?_pos=1&_sid=f16e70b51&_ss=r

colorful chameleon

There's a new challenge at the Less is More Blog and well I don't usually use tags on cards. Not my style, and so this card has seen a few guises before I decided this was the best for me .

I started with the Chameleon. it's a left over piece and I liked it was so colorful. It's from Craft Emotions and I watercolored it sometime ago, I think it's ecoline, but it might be Distress ink refills, in fact I think they are, but the magenta pink got me stumped. Doesn't matter really except if you want to try and  use the same colors  on the cardbase haha.

I diecut the tag from black card

as I thought the colors of the Chameleon would stand out better, the leafy branch is from the same set (115633/0270).

On a crisp white base the black looked too stark, I liked it, but many might not. so I tried a pink or blue cardstock and they were blah . so I swiped Distress inks on a few cardbases to ground the tag..blah, inksmooshed a few cardbases, also blah. then I decided on an ink blended strip in the back. I've used Distress inks and other dye inks. also splattered with golden watercolor to match the chameleon, like he's absorbed the background.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (SImple Sentiment strips).

AAA Birthday Card Challenges #37 Let's Party

This month we celebrate our own Birthday with birthday cards as usual but seems perfect ;-)

For my card I used n image from CC design stamps (Hello ,Goodbye set). The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips)

I actually started with the sentiment, let it dry. The blob is a stencil I made and I inkblended Distress inks Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon through it, to make a meadow of sorts. Then I splattered with Metallic paints and water to give the illusion of flowers.

Mounted the image with foamtape.

Come and join us on our blog and enter your card here.

AAA Cards Challenge #214: it's our 8th birthday

To celebrate our 8th Birthday we have a moodboard, take away what you want and play along.

We have a couple of sponsors ( I felt bad asking in these times, some is better than none). Whimsy Stamps is offering the whole May digital release as a prize!.

I've used the newly released clear sets though.

In the moodboard I see limes, blues, purple pinks, the whole rainbow frankly. For my card I used the Whimsy Stamps Monster Birthday and I colored the images with alcohol markers (Copic, Spectrum Noir, Graphit Brush..they all play along nicely).

I based the colors of them on the moodboard and also the background I made first. For that I drew a blob on masking paper, cut it out and inkblended Distress inks (Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet, maybe some Chipped Sapphire, not sure if I actually used it of that shade was made  by overlapping Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon). I wanted to sue the cooler side of the rainbow. I actually also made one with pinks, yellow and orange, but this one spoke to me.

The sentiment seemed perfect and is also by Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips). I stamped it inside the "blob"to retain as much white space as possible. Mounted the images with foamtape and adhered them on top.

Bit of Nuvo shimmer pen and white gelpen for accents,
