AAA Cards Challenge #252: Colour Scheme

Hello,  this fortnight we're all about colours or colors depending where you live.

You can choose one, two,  all of them if you want, but try to stick to the colors you seen, maybe with a neutral for skin or fur.
For my card I've applied Distress inks: Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon trough a Clearly Besotted Umbrella Stencil.
Then I mixed up Rangers' Texture paste transparent clear gloss with glitter and applied it also, this makes them shimmer but also they look wet from the rain...maybe?

I tried the same with more colors of Distress inks and also a different layout (Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass and also Villainous Poison and although I like this combo too, it was too much for such a small area in my opinion.

We're are a Clean and Simple challenge, so covering more of the cardbase just isn't an option for me anyway.

Let it dry
The hippo is also Clearly Besotted (Hippo Bird Day) and I did cut of the cute little bird/chick/duckling as I felt I could make it fir in the color scheme.
Colored the image with Copic Markers and mounted it with foamtape.

The sentiment is also Clearly Besotted (Tiny Type) and I stamped it with Memento inks (Bahama blue and Grape Jelly). The tones was achieved by selectively inking the sentiment somewhere the umbrellas also change color; thought that was nicer than either blue or purple and also nicer than black.

As always you have two weeks to play along the AAA Card Challenge and you can enter your card here.

Blue and pink snowman

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More Blog and it's : Blue, Pink and White.

I thought a snowman is white-ish with blue ( and I did  his scarf, Cheeks ,hat heart buttons in pink and blue tones, I didn't forget the carrot nose, but that would be orange  and well, I will add that later ;-)

the Snowman is From Marianne Design CS1139 and I stamped it with Versafine ink on watercolor card and colored it with Karin Markers.

There's a matching die so I cut it out.

For the cardbase I masked off the bottom and I used what ever in k was left on a blue inkblending brush, then splattered with water/

Sentiment is from My Favorite Things (Bitty Holiday Wishes) and I stamped it in blue.

Mounted the Snowman with Foamtape and adhered him on top.

Want to play along too, see the Less is More Blog by clicking here.

Mini Headless Horseman

Hello, today, just in time for Halloween  I thought I would use the Whimsy Stamps Digi: Mini Headless Horseman from the Some Odd Girl Line.

I printed it, cut it out and then colored it with Triblend markers, mounted it with foamtape and set it aside.

For the background, I cut a mask, kinda pumpkin shaped and I  wanted to do it orange, but I opted for a spooky  nightsky with Purple Distress inks (Wilted VIolet and Villainous Poison).

Splattered with water and then removed the mask, so my metallic paint splatter would go everywhere ...and... it did ;-)The sentiment is from Spirited Sentiments, also Whimsy Stamps and I stamped it twice, once with purple, then blue to get that  indigo looking purple.

Let it all dry , then mounted the Horseman on top, added eye balls with a black Memento marker and white gel pen details.

You can find the digi and sentiment in the Whimsy Store:

Bat Temper

Hello, today I'm using a Whimsy Stamps Digi from  the Dustin Pike line: Dracula Dragon.

I printed it and colored it with alcohol markers.

I made up the sentiment, I really wanted it to have puns, BAT instead of BAD and Count as in Dracula, I hope it's as funny to you as to my 5 year old brain ;-)

Added white gel pens for the eyes and mounted the panel on a card, nothing fancy this time like a see through ghost haha

you can find the digi in the Whimsy Shop: https://whimsystamps.com/products/dracula-dragon-digital-stamp?_pos=2&_sid=ceed2709e&_ss=r

AAA Card Challenges #251 Anything Spooky Goes

Hello, this fortnight we at AAA Card Challenges, we're looking for a CAS Spooky card as Halloween is upon us.  Now if you don't make Halloween cards, we worded it as Spooky, so you can give it your own twist, like a Monster card p.e.

for my card I've used a Whimsy Stamps Digi from the Dustin Pike Collection: Bat Candle.

I printed it, cut it out, colored it with alcohol markers and  then Mounted it with foamtape.

The flame has a covering of Nuvo Shimmer pen, so it looks like it's flickering..well in my head it does ;-)

For the cardbase I masked off an area and then applied Distress inks (Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness); splattered with water at Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn.

Mounted the image on top, I didn't mean to put it that low, but the masking paper got too wet and left a nice green mark, now covered, so don't tell anyone.

As always you have two weeks to play along the AAA Card Challenge, see this.

Sweet Sheets

Hello, today I"m using one of the two Ghosts in the Digi set  Sweet Sheet from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike.

I printed the image with the sentiment (Halloween digi sentiments) onto Copic safe paper and also on removable masking paper as I wanted to make a one layer card (bar the cardbase) and a see through Ghost.

I cut out the mask and also made a circle mask for the moon and masked the side and bottom of my cardpanel so I could inkblend the sky and moon with Distress inks and then matched a  lighter color where the ghost is in front, just the ghost not the broom of hat I wanted to look see through,  I like it, I'm not so good at coloring  glass or transparent object, but I try ;-)

I liked the idea, so will try again.

Splattered the moon with water and I see there was some shimmer spray still on the brush, so free shimmer.

You can find the digi in the Whimsy Shop here:  https://whimsystamps.com/products/sweet-sheet-set-digital-stamp?_pos=1&_sid=d7fb863c8&_ss=r

And the Halloween Sentiments: https://whimsystamps.com/collections/digital-sentiment-sets/products/haunting-halloween-sentiments-digital-stamp

Happy Hauntings

Hallo, Happy Halloween or as my card says: Happy Hauntings!

For today's card I've used the Whimsy Stamps Digi: Bat Candle from the Dustin Pike Line.

I printed it and cut it out, then colored it with my alcoholmarkers and mounted it with foam tape. set aside.

For the cardbase and background I masked off the bottom of the card and I used the  Whimsy stamps Halloween Expression stencil with Lost Shadow Distress ink. I've layers the stencil a few times and moved it to fill in the gaps between the expressions. Just one color of ink but in different thicknesses if that makes sense.

The sentiment is from a Whimsy clear set called: Spirited Sentiments and I've stamped it with Versafine Morning Mist, just to keep it in the grey family.

Stuck the image onto the cardbase.

You can find everything in the Whimsy Store:

Little Wizard Owl

Hello, today I'm using a digi from the new Whimsy Stamps release and the Meijens Design line: Little Wizard Owl, you can find it in the shop here: https://whimsystamps.com/collections/newest-digital/products/little-wizard-owl-digital-stamp

There's a few others from Meijens Designs too, so go check  them out.

I printed it twice  on the same Copic paper panel, so the're the exact same size, then cut the panel in two. Colored one with Spectrum Noir markers this time and cut it out. After cutting I went around the edges with a  Memento marker ad mounted the image with foamtape.

The reason I printed it twice is so I could leave all the swirly bits out and they'd still show up in the background.

For the background I made  Moon by masking it off on the panel and applied Distress inks in various blues, then splattered with water and a gold metallic paint for stars.

As the image is an Owl and he's not on a branch but holding a wand, I just let him float there, levitate if you will ;-) how did that go? something something Leviosáh , I'm sure you know it better than me ;-).

Adhered the cut-out owl on top and added white gel pen and Glossy accents on his eyes.

Not sure about the sentiment yet, Magical birthday, you're a hoot? I shall see what I use this card for, then decide.

Again you can find the digi in the Whimsy Shop: https://whimsystamps.com/collections/newest-digital/products/little-wizard-owl-digital-stamp

marching band

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More Challenge blog:

Music.

I've chosen a set from My Favorite Things: Strike up the band and I stamped it with Extreme black ink onto Copic marker safe paper.

Colored it with Copic markers, then restamped it all with Versafine ink as I left my stamps in my Stamping tool it was easy and I think my Extreme  black needs reinking.

That's all it takes sometimes.
