AAA Card Challenge #307 Color Challenge

Hello, this fortnight we have a color challenge for you again.

Use at least 3 of 4, fur, skin and neutrals such as black or white, gold and silver are fine; and the colors don't have to be an exact match, just try your best.

For my stamping I've used Memento inks: New Sprout, Bamboo Leaves and Nautical blue

The brush stroke is a stamp from Marianne Design (Eline's Brush  EC0161 and the twig is also Marianne design (cs1143 Mistletoe), I stamped that on top with Versafine. I didn't realise it was mistletoe until I wrote down the supplies, I thought it was an Olive branch, so  you know it's versatile.

The sentiment is Whismy Stamps Simple Sentiment and I cut it out with the coordinating dies, then mounted it with foamtape.

I look forward to your takes on the card, you can enter them here.

AAA Card Challenge #292: Sketch

Hello we have a sketch again, and as always you can rotate and or flip the sketch as long as we can see it.
I wasn't very original with my take on the sketch, you don't have to do a rainbow,b ut I do like one, especially this month.

For my card I  did some repeat stamping with the "everything" from  Whimsy Stamps (Happy Sayings) in all the rainbow colors (Card Deco ink). Love  my Stamping tool for this.

The "happy"  is a partial sentiment from Clearly Besotted's Tiny Type set.

AAA Card Challenge #292: Follow the Leader

Hello, this fortnight the card to follow is from Sue S. I made a few variations, the first 3 I didn't like, mostly because I wanted to use a smaller font die set and it just didn't work as well as it did in my head.
I made a 4th card and I actually love this one.
For my Merry I've used the Marianne Design Collectables Col1449 alphabet dies and cut them from a white panel. Mounted a black panel on a white cardbase ( so you can still write your message inside, but you could make a black cardbase, saves on paper)
Splattered with silver/grey and gold water color and let it dry.
Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the card.

My first cards were an attempt to use gold leaf in the diecut and it looked shabby to me, on Sue's card the golf leafing looks fabulous.

AAA Birthday Card Challenges #73: 6th birthday

Hello this month, we're celebrating our birthday, our 6th! can you believe it? I cannot but time flies for sure.

For my card I used the Crocos from Katzelkraft and I stamped him with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and colored him with Spectrum Noir markers.

Nuvo shimmer pen on the balloon.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps and it's from the Simple Sentiment Strips, stamped with Versafine ink.

I matted the panel and adhered it to a cardbase.

I look forward to your makes, you can enter them here.

AAA Card Challenge #289: Color Challenge

Hello, this fortnight we have another color challenge.
Use 3 or more if you can, and remember the colors don't have to be an exact match to the  challenge badge, as close as you can get it.

I've used Distress inks on white cardstock to make my own colored card, i've used Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo.

Normally the centre of flowers would be yellow, but I went with the same white as my cardbase, so it's not an extra color.

I let the ink dry after  dragging the inkpads over the white cardstock.

Stamped the Get well sentiment from Clearly Besotted (Brushed Greetings II) with Versafine Black ink.

Adhered the flowers with liquid glue. They are from Marianne Design (LR0697)

I look forward to your makes.

AAA Card Challenge #287: 1+1

Hello, this fortnight we have another 1+1 challenge for you where the main component is in the middle and you can choose one of the outer circles.

I chose: Geometric/organic shapes to go with my silhouette sentiment.

I masked off an area on my card base and with a stencil I made once (with hexagon dies), I applied Distress inks (Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Mermaid Lagoon, Carved Pumpkin and Twisted Citron)

The Happy is from Whimsy Stamps Large Happy Die and I cut it from black cardstock.

The Birthday is from Whimsy also (Happy Sayings) and I stampe dit with Versafine Black ink.

To play along the AAA Cards Challenge, see this.

AAA Card Challenge #285: Anything CAS goes

Hello this fortnight we have an Anything CAS goes challenge, with the optional twist of Spring/Spring Colors.

For my card, I diecut the Happy from pink card I colored myself with Distress ink Picked Raspberry and placed it on the cardbase. Then I stamped the Birthday from Happy  saying stamps set. So far both are Whimsy Stamps products.

Then I decided to tuck in some ephemera from Simple Stories ( floral bits). Pink, green, yellow sure say Spring to me and if not, it's still Anything CAS goes haha.

Looking forward to what you make.

AAA Card Challenge #283: Color Challenge

Another new kind of challenge we came up with: 4 color tiles and you should use at least 3, you can use neutrals, for say skin and or fur and black and white for stamping and sentiment. The colors don't have to be an exact match, as close as you can get them.

I used all 4 in my Distress color palette (Speckled Egg,  Weathered Wood, Iced Spruce and Pine Needles)

For my card I masked off a portion on the cardbase and inkblended Speckled Egg and Weathered Wood, for my blue-ish greys, then splattered with water.

I diecut really old Clearly Besotted dies (on the line dies) masked off on the bottom and dragged the other  two colors over the trees and houses ( Iced Spruce and Pine Needles).

Mounted them on the cardbase, on top of each other.

The sentiment is also Clearly Besotted: Tiny Type and I stamped it with a morning mist Versafine Clair ink, thought it would match better than black.

AAA Birthday Card Challenge #69: Winter Birthday

Hello this month at the AAA Birthday Card Challenges, we're all about Winter.

For my card I masked off an area at the top of the card and inkblended Distress inks (Shaded Lilac and Tumbled Glass), Splattered with white paint for snow flakes.

The image is a diecut from Marianne design. (LR0740) and I diecut it from the same white cardstock as the cardbase, I contemplated black, but I thought it would look too stark.

Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and I stamped it with Memento Ink (Summer Sky)

AAA cards Challenge #277: Anything CAS goes with the option of Halloween

Hello, this fortnight we have an Anything CAS goes challenge again. The optional twist is Halloween.

Although I took inspiration from the game badge , I made it into a Happy Birthday.

I've used Orange as it's my friend's favorite color and a stamp she gifted me.

The cat is from Craft EmothionsL5010 Kitty & Fish.

For the background I've inkblended Distress inks Carved Pumpkin and RIpe Persimmon through a stencil I made and then splattered with Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust.

Stamped the kitty and sentiment on top with Versafine black ink. Let is dry, filled in the nose and eyes with a white gel pen as the orange background  came through.

To play along the AAA Cards Challenge, see this.

AAA Cards Challenges #275: Anything CAS goes , option of Autumn

Hello, this fortnight we're all about Anything CAS goes and as it's Autumn, that's the optional twist.

For my card I've used the Stampendous House Mouse (I think they moved brands, so not sure if still available) It's called Willow Climb and I stamped it with Versafine Black ink and Colored it with Zig clean color real brush markers.

Now the pink willow cattails are inspired by those in my garden, they do exist ;-).

The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Diva, also no longer available (Animal Antics) and I also stampe dit with Versafine ink onto watercolor cardstock.

If you'd like to play along, please enter your card here.

AAA Card Challenge #268: Sketch Challenge

 Hello, another sketch this fortnight.

For  the sketch  I've used a cat image, but it could be any thing, doesn't even have to be a silhouette, but I took that idea and the colors of the sketch for my card.

I did rotate the sketch to the bottom, made more sense with my silhouette stamp.

It's from Nellie's Choice cscf003. The circles are inkblended with Distress inks:  Milled Lavender, Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves.

Sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment strips and I stamped the sentiment and image with Versafine black ink.

AAA Cards Challenge #266: Sketch Challenge

Hello, it's sketch fortnight again.

As I made this sketch, I can honestly say it doesn't make things easier, at all.

In fact I made 4 card for this challenge and I shall talk about  just two of them ;-), the others I don't like at all, but i've included them in  this post.

For my Cards I've used Distress inks Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin)

I made a stencil from Pronty Stencil Sheets and Star Shaped Dies (Nellie Snellen  SD003 and MFD050 and started to inkblend them on the cardbase.

For the Balloons I"ve used the Carlijn Design Stencil Balloons  and for the smallest I've used the stamp in the Simon Says Stamp  Birthday Balloons, and oldie but goodie. I also applied the Mustard Seed with my inkblending brush instead of inkpad to stamp, so I would get the same gradient.

Sentiment is from the same set and I stamped it with Versafine black ink.

I might go back later and add some black splatter, just for a bit of contrast, I think it would looks nicer, but as a Clean and Simple Challenge, I feel it doesn't need it.

AAA Card Challenge #265: Anything Birthday Goes

Hello this fortnight we're celebrating 10 years of AAA Card Challenges and it's the 265th, blimey that a lot of cards, isn't it? How long have you been playing along? I can't remember exactly myself. I used to be a player and then DT and now Admin, so you tell me haha.

So Anything CAS goes, but a (10th) Birthday Card would be cool.
I made two cards,  the first with stuff I had and before we had sponsors, then I  made another with Whimsy Products as they are a  sponsor and we're so grateful. For a full list of prizes and or goodies, also donations from our wonderful DT, see our blog.

I stamped the image  onto Copic Save paper (Whimsy Stamps Monster Moods) and colored it with Spectrum Tri Blend Markers then popped it up with foamtape.

The background is created onto the cardbase with Distress inks (twisted citron and Tumbled Glass), I've used a stencil I made once, free handed a blob, but today I've only used the loved part and faded to white.
I stamped the sentiments (Whimsy Simple Sentiment Strips and Monster Moods) with Versafine black ink. White gel pen for the shine in the eyes.

For my 2nd, but actually the 1st,  card I bought a Birthday Die second hand, I've asked the seller, but I don't know the brand, I just liked it and cut it twice from thick white cardstock. then swiped the line with DIstress inks Mermaid Lagoon And set the letter back inside.
the Happy is Memento ink Bamboo Leaves and it's from the Simon Says Stamp 3x4 it's your  Birthday Set.
the Monkey is from C.C. Designs  and I mounted it onto the card with foamtape and taper runner where needed.

AAA Card Challenges March: Geometric #59

Hello, this month we play with Geometric shapes on your birthday cards.

For my card I first went blobs, liked it but then I realized organic shapes aren't geometric..so onwards...My second card looks a lot like the end result, but I can't stand the look of it, so onto the third and final version.

I've inkblended rectangles with Distress ink Lost Shadow, then laid circles on top, And As Distress  inks are transparent, you can see the shapes underneath, something I loved about my organic blobs.

I've used  Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Mermaid lagoon.

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Brushed Greetings II and I stamped it with Versafine Clair ink Morning Mist.

Splattered with a bit of black metallic ink, Ok not perfect circles but I needed something organic  and a bit of shine. I think the circles look like floating Planets

AAA Cards Challenge #254: Black, White and Gold

Hello, this fortnight we have a color theme, chosen by Tristan and because of the time of the year our badge and my card feature these colors in ornaments/baubles.

To make the baubles I diecut black cardstock, white glitter cardstock and gold mirrored cardstock, backed with double sided adhesive from Marianne Design LR0014, any will doe, it makes the diecuts into stickers and this brand or tape diecuts beautifully.

My ornaments or baubles, are from Avec Creative (Love 2 Craft available at Action in the Netherlands). I got them last year and they sold out pretty quickly, but again if you like the look and have others, there's many across the industry.

I  have another idea for this theme, might make a second card, you'll see it here if I do ;-).

I've used the packaging to see hiw to layer the embellishments , but also chose other bits and bobs, just to stagger the colors. I wasn't sure about black as a Christmas card, but it looks rather stylish and the glitter and shiny gold make it more festive.

It was hard to take a photo as my cardbase is also white, I hope you don't mind.

The sentiment is from Clearly  Besotted and I stamped it with Versafine black ink.

For my second idea, I watercolored a black gradient and added embossing paste with Perfect pearls in gold (Sunflower Sparkle), then I thought if I wanted it to look like fireworks, why not do a black cardbase, which turned into a panel and a bit left over, could be another card

Thestencil is from Stamperia KSTDL51, embossing paste is Ranger clear gloss transparent; sentiment from Uniko (simply said block Christmas, I then had trouble liking the white rim and well I probably should have stuck to the one card ;-)

As usual you have 2 weeks to play along and you can find more info or enter your card here

AAA Card Challenges #251 Anything Spooky Goes

Hello, this fortnight we at AAA Card Challenges, we're looking for a CAS Spooky card as Halloween is upon us.  Now if you don't make Halloween cards, we worded it as Spooky, so you can give it your own twist, like a Monster card p.e.

for my card I've used a Whimsy Stamps Digi from the Dustin Pike Collection: Bat Candle.

I printed it, cut it out, colored it with alcohol markers and  then Mounted it with foamtape.

The flame has a covering of Nuvo Shimmer pen, so it looks like it's flickering..well in my head it does ;-)

For the cardbase I masked off an area and then applied Distress inks (Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness); splattered with water at Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn.

Mounted the image on top, I didn't mean to put it that low, but the masking paper got too wet and left a nice green mark, now covered, so don't tell anyone.

As always you have two weeks to play along the AAA Card Challenge, see this.

Less is More Challenge: Outdoors

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More  Blog: Outdoor.

I made my card  with the Katzelkraft Les Pingouins and a sentiment from Impronte D'Autore from a set that has a Yeti with coffee too, but somehow I thought the Penguins were easier...they weren't ;-) Happy Yeti set would have been  better, I couldn't get it to stamp nicely as the set is new to me. Same with the penguins to be honest I think it's my inkpad I thought oh I'll color the little beaks and details and then restamp with Versafine to get a nice black penguin....I had 6 image in my stampingtool and sadly the paper moved a tiny bit and this was the only image that was still OK .

Do inkpads get greasy from the stamps, feels like they transfer something? I don't know just wondering if refilling sometimes is useless if the linnen is  messed up.

for the background I inkblended Distress inks, I meant these for my Christmas cards, but too much work, my shoulders were aching after one, so..nope, but handy for this card of course. I;ve used: Faded Jeans, Prize Ribbon and Salty Ocean.

Then Splattered with water, white paint, silver watercolor and Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn, let it dry and stamped the sentiment underneath.

Mounted the penguin with foamtape and adhered him on top pf the cardbase, I've used the white as a snowbank.

If you want to play along the Less is More Challenge, see this.
