Let is Snow!

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More Challenge blog: Anything CAS goes.

So I went to my precolored bin of images and  pulled out this Moose from Whimsy Stamps' Winter Sports.

Sentiment is from the same set and I stamped it with a blue Card Deco ink.

For the snowbank I cut a wavy line from masking paper and used what ever was left on my blue blending brush for the shadow or definition.

Mounted the moose with foamtape and adhered him on top.

Blue and pink snowman

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More Blog and it's : Blue, Pink and White.

I thought a snowman is white-ish with blue ( and I did  his scarf, Cheeks ,hat heart buttons in pink and blue tones, I didn't forget the carrot nose, but that would be orange  and well, I will add that later ;-)

the Snowman is From Marianne Design CS1139 and I stamped it with Versafine ink on watercolor card and colored it with Karin Markers.

There's a matching die so I cut it out.

For the cardbase I masked off the bottom and I used what ever in k was left on a blue inkblending brush, then splattered with water/

Sentiment is from My Favorite Things (Bitty Holiday Wishes) and I stamped it in blue.

Mounted the Snowman with Foamtape and adhered him on top.

marching band

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More Challenge blog:

Music.

I've chosen a set from My Favorite Things: Strike up the band and I stamped it with Extreme black ink onto Copic marker safe paper.

Colored it with Copic markers, then restamped it all with Versafine ink as I left my stamps in my Stamping tool it was easy and I think my Extreme  black needs reinking.

That's all it takes sometimes.

orange orange orange

There's a new challenge on the Less is More blog: Orange!

My card took longer in my head, deciding what to do, orange leaves for fall? pumpkin, Halloween?

I went with this really old foamstamp and two colors of orange for a gradient on the pumpkin.

The sentiment is also two tones or orange and it's from Whimsy Stamps Spooky Kitties set.

I thought about using a new silhouette cat stamp on top, but it's not a Halloween cat, so I left it out.

Then I thought, what if I mask it with heat embossing and inkblend black  as it's Halloween, but I felt that might not we considered white/empty space, especially if the inkblending is a bit splotchy.

So ultra Clean and Simple.

Fairy Happy

Hello, there's a new challenge over at the Less is More blog, this fortnight it's : ONE layer card and photo inspiration.

I've mostly stuck to the daisy theme.

For y card, I cut a cardbase from Copic paper and stamped the images with Extreme black ink and the sentiment with Versafine ink. The set is from My Favorite Things (Fairy Happy) and I coloerd it with Copic markers. It does seep through to the inside, but it's one layer, so I had to, might fix that later.

I then added Nuvo Shimmer pen to the wings and white gel pen to the eyes

Under the Sea

There's a new challenge over at Less is More and it's under the sea.

For my card I masked off a part on the cardbase and inkblended Distress ink on the left: Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner, then Splattered with water for bubbles and let it dry.

Once dry I;ve used the Whimsy Stamps Ocean Stencil and Hickory Smoke Distress inks for my ghostly sharks, just a hint of what lurks in the depths.

Sentiment is also Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and I've stamped it with Versafine ink.

Less is More Challenge: B is for Beach

The Less is More Challenge has started last Saturday. and I tried a few ideas, but I didn't like them, so I slept on it and came up with this today.

I diecut a circle from Watercoloring paper and painted it with Mijello Gold MIssion watercolors, let it dry.

Meanwhile I diecut some sets from Gummiapan (lighthouse and Seagulls) from the same card as my cardbase.

I did adhere double sided tape before cutting, so they turned into stickers without the mess of liquid glue.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and I stamped it with Memento blue, so it all matches.

Mounted the circle with foamtape and adhered the white shapes on top.

And now I have another Idea on this card ;-).

Peeking Daisy card

This fortnight the challenge over at Less is More is Flowers with the One Layer requirement too.

I wanted to use a set with built a flower thing, I thought I had from My Favorite Things, but I don't actually have it, looked at it a lot on  sale, but never got it.

So I got busy this weekend and been thinking what to do and decided on this design.

Instead of stamping flowers I diecut it from the cardbase, as it's one layer I added interest on the inside, to keep it looking good I stamped the interest instead of swiping the inkpad or inblending, I would have needed to make a mask to make it look good.

I stamped the sentiment on the cardfront with the same Memento inks: Angel Pink and Rose Bud., the sentiment is from My Favorite Things Bitty Birthday Wishes.

The inside is stamped with Marianne Design Eline's Brushes (EC0162)

The Dais is from Simon Says Stamp Peeking Daisy and I cut it from the cardbase, it's very fragile so I might add a piece of vellum or acetate, so I have glue down the daisy, not sure yet.

Less is More challenge: Spring

The new challenge at Less is More is: Spring.

For my card I used images from Paperie Ink, both from Hello Spring and Bunny talk.

Masked off an area and applied Distress inks: Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron with what ever was left on the brushes.

Colored the images with Copic Markers, then I mounted the bunnies with foamtape and the  forget me not flowers with liquid glue.

Adhered everything to the cardbase.

I don't really send out Spring card, there's a sentiment like it in the set, I will add a  sentiment when I know what the card is for, probably Happy Birthday ;-) or Hoppy Birthday as they're bunnies and they hop....

Less is More Challenge: Automobiles

There's a new challenge and theme to the Less is More Challenges: Automobiles.

I've used the Lili of the Valley Digi : Racing Green, I hadn't even realized this, but I wanted it racing car green as I saw last week passing my by, a Porsche in this glorious emerald green. I know there's also a Spyder or GM in the same colour.

For a second I opted for Happy Father's day, but I thought Birthday covers more gents, I added in whilst prepping the digi, I flipped it so it's racing away from the left corner. Made more sense to me. As my printer likes to print on a slant, I had to make it into a panel.

Coloured the image with Graphit Brush markers and the fineliner point and some Spectrum Noir markers.

Adhered the panel to a cardbase with tape runner.

Flying Lion

Hello, there's a new challenge over at the Less is More Blog: Anything Goes.

That's very broad even for CAS (clean and simple)

For my card I rummaged through some printed and cut out digis I had only coloring left to do.

It's a new brand I discovered a few months ago : Miezo and I like their designs a lot.  colored it with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.

For the Background I've used a Marianne Design Stencil and blue ink. At first I'd used Versafine on a smaller sentiment from Clearly Besotted but it flooded and I think it was slanted, so I redid the cardbase and used the same Sky Blue ink for the sentiment.

Might cover the sentiment for another card, but I felt it's not CAS as it could be.

Mounted the  lion image with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase. Added some white gel pen highlights.

Less is More Challenge: Aquamarine and Black

This fortnight the Less is More Challeng is Aquamarine and Black,

I had a few ideas and I went for these diecuts, I thought they could be Eucalyptus, not entirely sure, they're dies in a advent set I think, can't remember, I've put all the twigs together, sorry. Doesn't matter, my first Idea was the Cute Caterpillar from Memory Box, then the Cat Silhouettes from Impression Obsession, black cats with  an Aquamarine like background., didn't know how to make it CAS. then I diecut a butterfly flutter, but had to make the card twice as big for

empty space, didn't like that either ....morning well spent though.

the sentiment is als from Impression Obsession and I found it while looking for the cats. Stamped it with Versafine Black ink on the cardbase.

I have made the blueish green leafs by using watercolours and Finetec Iridescent watercolours on watercolour paper, let it dry. I wanted an ombre feel to my caterpillar, but it looks better on the leafs too, not as flat.

Once dry I cut them and stuck them on with liquid glue.

New Less is More Challenge: #479: ONe Layer- Anything Goes

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More Blog!:
One Layer and anything goes.

I've chosen to do a Happy Birthday Card, as I always need those, although at firts I wanted Easter with a silhouette stamp.

But instead I Made a mask with a Joy Crafts die (really old, but any would work) and adhered it on the cardbase, then masked the bottom, once I new how much space I needed.

I used Distress inks to make my scene: Wilted Violet, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin and mUsteard Seed for my SunSet and Mermaid Lagoon for the Sea.

Peeled off the maskes and now have a crisp white Sailboat.I kinda like it, but might add shading if I feel it needs it.

Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and I stamped it in Versafine Black ink.

Less is More Challenge: Outdoors

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More  Blog: Outdoor.

I made my card  with the Katzelkraft Les Pingouins and a sentiment from Impronte D'Autore from a set that has a Yeti with coffee too, but somehow I thought the Penguins were easier...they weren't ;-) Happy Yeti set would have been  better, I couldn't get it to stamp nicely as the set is new to me. Same with the penguins to be honest I think it's my inkpad I thought oh I'll color the little beaks and details and then restamp with Versafine to get a nice black penguin....I had 6 image in my stampingtool and sadly the paper moved a tiny bit and this was the only image that was still OK .

Do inkpads get greasy from the stamps, feels like they transfer something? I don't know just wondering if refilling sometimes is useless if the linnen is  messed up.

for the background I inkblended Distress inks, I meant these for my Christmas cards, but too much work, my shoulders were aching after one, so..nope, but handy for this card of course. I;ve used: Faded Jeans, Prize Ribbon and Salty Ocean.

Then Splattered with water, white paint, silver watercolor and Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn, let it dry and stamped the sentiment underneath.

Mounted the penguin with foamtape and adhered him on top pf the cardbase, I've used the white as a snowbank.
