Easter card series 2017 card #1, with video

Hoppiest wishes to you, is maybe  not as Easter like as it should be, but that just makes this stampset from Simon Says stamp (springtime critters) even more versatile. as it could be for a birthday too.
Although I would leave the eggs out then ;-)

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: anything goes, showcasing their own brand.

I stamped it all with My Favorite things Hybrid black ink  on Schut 140lbs watercolor paper. I then watercolored it with Talens Ecoline, which Simon Says Stamp now carries.

Strip of washi tape on the cardbase and foamtape to mount the panel.

500 Youtube subscribers giveaway, open world wide, see video

I made it to 500 subbies! yay.
Thank you everyone who's joined me and watches, likes and comments on my videos and blogposts. It truly means the world to me.

So in the past months I've been buying stamps and other goodies where I found a good deal.
And now have almost 80 prizes to giveaway.
I've put my email in the video, hopefully spammers can't get to that  and I ask you to send me and email with your name and adress and a nice line.
I want to divide the prizes a little as timezones might mean some are awake and others are blissfully unaware yet of this giveaway and I want everyone to have  a chance.
I've seen many other Youtubers trying ot get people they'd drawn to contact them, so I'm switching it around! email me, and don't worry your email and home or postbox adresses are safe with me, I'm not selling them or anything, I think this is just the easiest to give out stuff.
You must be one of my subscribers on Youtube to enter!

The giveaway runs until the end of March 2017 or until all prizes are gone.
You can tell me is you have a preference, but most will be random dips in the baskets ;-)

Thank you for being my friend and hopefully I will get emails soon.

Please put something in the subjetcline like 500 youtube subscribers giveaway, so I know it's not spam.

Good luck to everyone!

A galaxy card with rotating elements and 3 part video

This card had me thinking right till today, about how to solve certain parts of it, with stuff I had in the house as I can't go out.

I'm entering it to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: transport it, and the AAA challenge #84: watercolor.

I made the video in three parts as each part is quite long, but the first part covers how I made the galaxy with Distress reinkers on Schut watercolor paper.

The second video covers the coloring of the My favorite things images I used from the Space explorer set and Spectrum Noir and Spectrum Illustrator coloring.

The third video covers the assembly. on how I put it all together and make it move.
I guess it's kind of a slider card, but not really...you don't need the special dies.
I used an envelope pin ( i think it's called) and mica or strong acetate to mount the planet and rocket (wich is my means of transportation), they swivel around the pin and around the calaxy circle with the spaceman. so fun, hard to photograph, but so much fun...:-D

You make my heart happy

Today I played with some new supplies and made two cards and tow videos! woot to new pc ;-)

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is about your favorite tool.
I think mine are my stamp positioners, I have bother the MISTI and the WRMK precision press. Love them both for different reasons.
Also used a heat tool and diecutting tool, I think all indispensable in card making.

The card I'd like to enter into the challenge is the bear in  a heart, the second card as it's a bit more challenging to make. the first is pretty straight forward,  and I'll leave it for you to watch the video.

I used the My Favorite Things Wavy coloring book 6x6 stamp and the WRMK precision press to stamp Versamark ink onto some deep red card. I then
sprinkled it with Wow! metallic brass embossing powder and heat set it.

I cut a panel of Neenah solar white ultra smooth cardstock (from Crafter's Companion) onto which I traced a heart shaped die,  and stamped the sentiment and image from the My Favorite Things Friends furever set.

I used both MFT hybrid black ink and Versafine black onyx ink.

Then I proceeded with the partial diecutting. Please check the video, it's easier to see than to explain how to.

I colored the bear with Spectrum Noirs from the Vintage and Nature set and two Illustator markers.
For the shimmer on the nose I used the Nuvo glitter gloss pens and a white Sharpie for the sprakle in the eyes. Mounted the panel onto foam tape.

Cut the red embossed panel to fit the cardbase and attached it with tape runner to the cardbase. mounted the bear panel on top.

Teddy with flowers

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: cute, showcasing Wild Rose Studio products.

For my card I used the Wild Rose Studio stamp called CL490 Teddy with flowers. For the Sentiment I used the Simon Says Stamp set  called It's your birthday 3x4.

I stamped them both with the Misti and with My Favorite Things Hybrid black ink on Neenah Solar white ultra smooth cardstock (from Crafter's companion).
And I colored it with both the Spectrum Noir Illustrators and Noir markers.
Adhered the panel with tape runner onto a cardbase.

I used the Nuvo aqua shimmer markers (glitter gloss) on the biggest flowers, It's like the Spectrum sparkle pens or the Wink of Stella.

I think he's cute ;-), Much like the dog with heart also from Wild Rose studio, but I couldn;t possibly enter him again this week..;-) I've enjoyed coloring the dog though a lot this week haha

Young at Heart

Young at Heart is the Monday Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp.
Also they're showcasing Simon Says Stamp exclusive products as it's the first challenge of the month.

And I'd like to apologise right now as I have used some SSS products, but not only or mainly.
As Soon as I read "young at heart" I knew I wanted to use this speeding elderly in her mobility scooter Art Impressions throttle spinner), she's laughing like she's having a whale of a time, not how most use their scooter thing ;-),she's yougn at heart..
Also paired with the coolest and funniest sentiment from Riley Company (RWD 540).
I used the SSS Celebration time dies to cut out the heart shaped balloons and the SSS Springtime critters for the little heart stamps inside the balloons.

I stamped the image and sentiment with MFT hybrid black ink, only because I do not  have the SSS one (yet). I used Schut watercolor paper, my favorite. As I cut panels from a big block, they're not exactly the same size as a card front, but I don't mind, I usually fill the gap with washi tape or a patterned paper and today I contemplated using the SSS falling hearts stencil and Distress inks, but I decided against it.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir aquablend, bit of a surprise for some of the colors as I haven't swatched them yet I really wasn't sure how they'd look, but I'm happy with it.
I did test run it and found my placement was off for the heart balloons.
I wanted to lady to look like she's speeding and the balloons wafting behind her, so I attached them with some blue color metal wire. just so I could bend the "strings". you could use normal thread with glue to harden it, but this was much easier ;-). I poked some holes under her steering wheel, to make it look like she has them tied to it, secured the wires on the back with some tape and mounted the panel with foamtape.
Wink of stella on the balloons, lips and on her hair because the sentiment says "those aren't grey hairs, they are strands of glitter"....good name, I shall use it for mine ;-).

Spectrum Noir colors I used: Lagoon on her dress and one balloon,Cherry on the lips and one balloon, blueberry on the scooter and a balloon, fossil grey and asphalt for the road she drives on and her hair, hyacinth and fig for the vest, shoes, helmet and goggles, brunette for the basket and wheels. Watermelon and honeycomb for ther skin.

I added some speeding stripes with a fineler from Steadler, just like they do in comic books ;-).

In the video I talk about the position of a directional stamp: if an image looks left or right it's best to leave as much room in front of them, so on my test run I put the lady all the way to the right, but for the balloons I had to shift her a little to the left, but still giving her as much room as possible. It's more pleasing to the eye they taught me in school, it also wouldn't make sense if she were on the left and "driving" out of frame, try it, you'll see..

I made the card last year for my Mother's birthday and I used paper flowers and the little doggie from SSS beautiful ride, thought about it, but I didn't want to repeat myself ;-) although I think all old ladies have one of those little doggies in their baskets, hell I have cats in my bike basket sometimes and I'm not that old yet hahaha, no really my passport is proof ;-)

The video cut out at 30 minutes I thought I didn't miss anything much except the coloring of the road as it turns out, sorry.

Ink Smooshed background and faux shaker card, with video

I created this for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: the color of love, showcasing Reverse confetti, but I don't own any.

For my card I used the Simon Says Stamp Heart of flowers and the Technique Tuesday say it- Love you by Ali Edward.

I started by die cutting the heart from 140lb card panel and stamping the sentiment with Versafine black onyx ink, I heat set it to be sure.

For the background I used Distress inks and the "ink smooshing technique", see the video on how.
I mounted the panel with foam tape and adhered the watercolored panel to it, adhered that with strong red sticky tape to the cardbase.

I used Candied apple, carved pumpkin,  picked rapberry
and wilted violet.
I also used these colors for the LOVE you card.
the "you"is a partial sentiment , also from Technique Tuesday ( thank you).

For these three cards I adhered acetate behind the opening, so it's sturdier and easier to handle and mount the watercolor panel on. It looks like a shaker card, but isn't. on the orange one I place Ranger enamel accent on the acetate, making it look even more like a shaker card.

For the round window I sued Simon Says Stamp Circle of leave die cut.
Green Distress inks: cracked pistachio, mowed lawn, peacock feathers and lucky clover.
The orangey one is ripe persimmon, carved pumpkin and picked raspberry.
I used Simmer spritz "sparkle" to dilute the Distress inks,
instead of water.

Ranger enamel accents: electric lime, lily pad and caribbean coast for the green panel; pink gumball,  wild orchid and cheese puff , for the orange panel.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp birthday balloons and I also stamped it with Versafine black onyx ink and heat set it.
