CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #150!
I made a second card for this week's challenge, as I started to doubt myself, as I often
do ;-).
I was happy with the other one, but I felt I could do better.
Now I'm not sure the sentiment meets the number requirement, but I thought it might, so I used it.
I cut a strip of cardstock, masked off areas and inked them with Distress inks (spun sugar and picked raspberry) to make stripes, then I cut out the heart and mounted the panel raised from the cardbase with foamtape.
I used the Amy Design Star filled heart and cut out 2 hearts in pink tones, not quite the same as the Distress inks, but close. I thought to ink them with Distress inks too, but I like the little teint change or all would have been quite sickly sweet ;-).
The sentiment and image are from the Inkadinkadoo stampset, welcome baby.
I colored the tortoise with my Spectrum Noir markers and then cut him out and traced the edges with a black marker.
I stuck him half inside and a bit popping out of the heart.... him or her, it's a girl card afterall lol.

The Friday Mashup! Challenge #234: winter theme
For my card I used Distress inks (cracked pistachio, broken china and hickory smoke).
I 'm not sure if they match exactly or even a little with pool and mint and slate.
I used the Tim Holtz Holiday knit stencil and inked cracked pistachio and broken china through it.
I then brushed on some turqoise Perfect Pearls to give the inked bits a lovely shine.
To make the banner I started with a lighter gray piece of cardstock, but then thought slate might be much darker, so I swiped hickory smoke over it. Dried it well with my heatgun and then used white embossing powder and the sentiment from Avery Elle (let is snow) for the sentiment.
I cut a fishtail end to it and mounted it with foamdots.
I've added a strip of slate ish colored glitter tape with stars to tie it all back together and for shimmer!.
I love glitter ;-)

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: thinking of you.
Showcasing Hero Arts products.
I'm not from the UK, but in the Uk remembrance day is all about poppies and the poppy appeal.
So I decided to use a Penny black stamp (fresh) for my poppies and colored it red like the poppy they sell and people wear.
I made one darker to stand out.
I used Distress inks to color the images (barn door, mowed lawn, wilted violet, peacock feathers and mermaid lagoon).
The Butterfly is from Hero Arts (butterflies) and the sentiment is from the Ton (so foxy). I've heat embossed it in white on a black banner and mounted it on foamdots to raise it up, sorry that made it out of focus.

For week two I made a card for my wonderful help. Without her I wouldn't be able to do the heavy household chores due to my arthritis and reuma, she's a life saver!
On holiday now, but as soon as she gets back she'll get this little card I made her.
I used the idea from Jennifer McGuire's video, I looked through all my heart stamps, found quite a few actually, but then I stumbled upon this Neat and Tangled falling hearts, background kind of stamp. So I used that.
Also Neat and Tangled for the sentiment (all my heart).
I used pigment inks for the heart stamps as I only have Distress inks or black, like Memento and StazON.
I colored the big heart with Spectrum Noir markers.
I did cut a black matte as in Jennifer's card, but I have more white space and I thought it looked too stark on mine, wonderful on Jennifer's card, awful on mine lol.
So I swiped Distress ink around the edges of the cardbase, this is a custom blend, but it's similar to Dusty Concord, just more red in there.
I covered the big heart in the sentiment with Wink of Stella and then glossy accents.
I used 2 thin strips of silver glimmer paper around the sides for a bit more brightness and shine.

For mY "N" I chose Nightsky.
I used the Memory Box die cityline Nightscape and the sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays (love snowflake set) Joyeux Noël.
I masekd off an area on the card and sponged Distress inks (chipped sapphire, seedless preserves and fossilized amber)
I then splattered it with DIstress spray stains in brushed pewter and picket fence to make stars.
I adhered the cityscape onto the sponged panel and stamped the sentiment with black ink.

Quite a few challenges , again, sorry.
Saturday I was so dissapointed and saddened I felt all my creative juices flow out of me in an instant.
I had a craft fair Saturday and was all geared up to go even got one of those cardmills from a second hand shop, so I'd look more professional and it would be easier for people to browse.
BUT I sold 5, yes 5 cards and that's less than one per hour! and certainly not enough to cover the costs of being there...
I put my heart and soul into these cards and, although I got a good few compliments, noone was buying. On the upside the girls across the path from me didn't seem to have any customers either.
I'm the only one with modern, CAS cards and they stand out, everyone picks your brain and then go home and make the cards, instead of buying them :-(
It's not even about the money, but as this is card #751 you can see why I need to try and sell some, upside would be I can buy more creative goodies...
Anyway rant over I took Sunday off and now am back into the flow of things I hope.
I thought star, the sun is a star and has the color of fire, oh that's the Less is more challenge, and silver glittery paper diecuts to give the card some shimmer.
I used re-inkers from Distress inks for the watercoloring of the star (squeezed lemonade, ripe persimmon and festive berries)
I've used the sentiment from My Favorite things bold statements and a star diecut from Nellie Snellen.
I mounted the smaller top panel with foamdots to the card base.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: thanks/thanksgiving with SSS exclusive products.
For my card I used the Simon Says Stamp exclusive Friends 3x4 stampset for the sentiment and for the images in the heart.
The heart is diecut from a narrow panel and onto that I've stamped the sentiment. Colored the heart red.
To fill the heart I traced the diecut onto the cardbase and then mounted pretty much every little image from the stampset and stamped them with pigment inks in different red tones, then also colored in the little hearts with the same color as the sentiment.
I added some silver gel pen faux stitches to give the card some shimmer after I discarded the sequin idea.
I just flush mounted the narrow panel to keep the card flat.
Thinking about the card took longer than making it haha, seriously ...love it though as I'm a CAS kinda of girl anyway.
