AAA Cards Challenges 2021 - #191 NO Layer card + Hexagons, with video

This fortnight we're all about NO layers card at AAA Cards.  Nancy chose the twist: use hexagons

For my card I made a stencil with a hexagon shaped nesting die. I chose I size I liked  on the cardbase, not too big, not too small. I also made my hexagons peek in from the left side of the cardbase.

I've used Distress inks: Wilted Violet, Mowed Lawn and Mermaid Lagoon, always blending from the lower right corner.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things: Bitty Birthday Wishes and I stamped it with Versafine ink.

Make a Splash

The Less is More Challenge this week is: Favourite Technique.

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Anything goes.

For my card I use two of my favourite techniques: inkblending and coloring.

I masked off and area on the cardbase and then I cut an undulating strip for my sea/waves. I've used Distress inks (Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass and Broken China.

The Stamped the sentiment and heat set it,

The card ase got a little warped, but will be fine in a day or so.

For my image I've used  Whimsy Stamps Hippo Fun in the sun and colored it with alcohol markers, a mix of Graphit Brush markers, Triblend markers and Copics, then stuck it on top with liquid glue

Fold flat diorama

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: use dies and or punches.

And boy did I use a bunch of dies, among them Sugar Pea Design Farm Border, Amy Design ADD10129, Simon Says Stamp Burst die for my sun, Paper Rose Border cows and one I bought second hand, no idea which brand.

For the critters I've used Whimsy Stamps Camp Critters and sentiment I've used Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment strip.

The card is part of my June fan month, so to see how I built it all you might want to come back. There will be a two part video, very long proces.

But I've inkblended on yellow cardstock to get my  variegated sun, same for the sky and grass. Behind the sun I've used Stick it before diecutting it so at least it's easier to stick it to my sky.

the other border I cut to size and mounted with little flaps that will fold up or flat.

As I was filiming it today the challenge came and I thought it's perfect for this weeks challenge. I didn't really want to wait to share it, but the video will have to wait.

Toits de Paris

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Four legged friends.

So of course I went with a cat.  A stamp from Katzelkraft, Simon Says Stamp now carries. It is called Toits de Paris, Roofs of Paris.

I stamped it with Versafine ink  on watercolorpaper and then used watercolors and Salvaged Patina for the  copper roofs. If they are indeed copper. I did one last night and I found it too bright and too many colors, so I stuck to a kind of Sun setting theme.

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted ( Brushed sentiments).

Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

AAA Cards Challenges #190: Birthday

It's the AAA Cards'7th birthday and so we're making birthday cards.

For the occasion we have a nice array of sponsors, so go check them out on the AAA Cards Blog.😻

For my card I inkblended an oval on the cardbase (Create a Smile Basic shapes oval), I've used Oxides Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid lagoon, then splattered with gold.

For the images I've used La Coppia Creativa Elefanti and the flower border is from Coccinelle. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment Strips.

I stamped the images with Gina K amalgam ink and coloured them with Copic markers. Had the Scan N Cut do the magic.

I mounted the flower border with foamtape and then tucked the other images behind it.

Monkey with banana

The Less is More this fortnight is a sketch and whilst I was making the other card and I was looking through my stash of coloured images I also cam across this cute monkey. Also CC Design    (Monkeys set).

I like to color images when I have a break or watch tv, but I also should put them to good use, so just now in a matter of one hour I've used two to  make two cards how cool is that.

I masked the cardbase with all my sizes of masking tape to get the rectangle from the sketch.

Inkblended Distress inks Cracked pistachio and Peacock Feathers and splattered with Lawn Fawn Liquid stardust. Removed the

masking tape and stamped the sentiment. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple sentiment strips) and I stamped it with Versafine ink.

The monkey was previously stamped with MFT Extreme black ink and triblend markers, I mounted it with foamtape to the cardbase.

I like the sketch so  much, I might make more, but first I should get dressed and go into the garden.

Updated June 24th:

New home card

There's a new challenge over at Less is More Challenges: a sketch.

For my card I've used a DigiDoodle Design studio digi of the house, added a black frame and resized it according to the sketch. I left it uncoloured so the Puppy from CC Design would pop.

It is actually a Christmas Stamp (Cosy Critters) but I can see a puppy with the owner's slippers. I stamped it with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and colored it with Triblend markers, then cut it out. Popped it on with foamtape on the cardbase/background.

The sentiment I've added whilst in Photoshop.
