AAA Cards Challenges #197: One Inch Strip + a Coloured Cardbase, with video

I forgot to  mention this in the video, but this fortnight the optional twist of a coloured cardbase was chosen by Ishani.

I chose kraft cardstock.. I masked off a one inch strip on the bottom edge of my cardbase.

the applied Distress oxides (Cracked pistachio, Wilted violet and Peacock feathers) through a Scrapberry stencil (Dotted pattern). So simple, so effective and as Oxides are  more opaque than dye inks, it works  great on the coloured base.

The sentiment I've made on my label maker, then cut it out with a Carlijn Design smalle tekst strips die., mounted it with foamtape in the corner. I'm sorry there's a glare in the label

in the photo, it reads fine in real life.

Less is More Guestdesigner : Spots and One Layer

This fortnight I am honored to be Guest designing for the Less is More Challenge, I play along all the time and now get to show off my card.

The Challenge I've chosen on purpose is One Layer yeah I know, but I like them. The Twist is Spots.

For my card I cut a circle mask and measured the centre of the cardbase. Then I applied Distress inks through the circle (Twisted Citron, Mowed lawn, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry).

Stamped the sentiment from Carlijn Design ( Grote Teksten 2) with Versafine ink. Few glittery dew drops from Marianne Design.

I also made a second card with the warmer side of the rainbow ( Wilted violet, Picked Raspberry, Candied apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard seed with Fossilized amber and Squeezed lemonade).

I also used a smaller circle die to make a mask and placed them a little further apart. The rest is the same.

For the third card I've used the dots in a horizontal  configuration and also Distress inks. The sentiment if from Whimsy Stamps: Simple sentiment strips.

Sympathy card

I made a second card for the Less is More challenge: shades of blue.
And the Simon Says Stam,p Wednesday Challenge is: Add a sentiment, showcasing Clearly Besotted Stamps

I stamped the Nellie Snellen stamp  with Distress inks (tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans) spritzed with water. Heat set it.

Sentiment is from Clearly Besotted, Tiny Type. Mounted that with foamtape.

Super simple I guess, but so elegant in my opinion.

Christmas Craft Creations, August theme: Non Traditional Colours, with video

This month we from Chritsmas Craft Creations are  challenging you to channel your non traditional Christmas colours. I made two cards, one with pastel trees and a purple glittery one.

I made two versions, but the process is the same, but the little one didn't show enough of my  patterned paper.

So Iwent big A5 size (15x21cm) and with purple glitter paper.

Stamped sentiment from Art Hobby  (Santa paws) and the cat from Katzelkraft (Solo02) with Versafine ink, heat set it.

Drew in the line where I wanted the cat to have torn the wallpaper,of wrappingpaper from a boxed gift...you choose ;-)

Mounted everything with tape to the cardbase.

AAA Cards Challenges #196: Two Quarters + Favourite Colours, with video

This Fortnight at AAA Cards Challenges we're playing with the 2 bits of 1/4 again, this time with the twist: Favourite Colours as chosen by our DT Member Michelle.

I've divided my cardbase into quarters, then masked off the middle otherwise it would be 1/2 and not 2 1/4s.

My favourite Distress ink colours are Wilted Violet and Peacock feathers, so I've used those to inkblend my quarters, first I thought I'd do one of each, then a gradient, but went opposites, just for fun.

Stamped a border stamp from Studio Light on the bottom, it's not wide enough to fit in one go, but I've managed to weld them together quite nicely. Left the middle mask on, so when I peel it off it looks like two different quarters, Wanted to do the same stamping in each quarter, but decided against it, but it might look better with the two hens in the same place instead of one almost falling off...ah well next time.

Not sure it's still available, it's Stampsl353 and I've used Versafine ink for it.

The sentiment is from Wow (Just saying stampset 41), also stamped it wit Versafine ink and then heat set it.

Blue Poppy

The Less is More Challenges is : Shades of blue.

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Summer blues.

I like the Blue poppy Lorraine made, and I have a similar stamp, so I thought I would try it with my own twist.

For my card I used the Concord & 9th set You are enough. I stamped the outline with MFT Extreme black ink and the Blues with Distress inks ( Mermaid Lagoon and Prize Ribbon) Spritzed with water.

Heat set in between layers.

the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted (Tiny type) and I cut it out with the MFT  Little Notes sentiment strips, mounted it with foamtape.

The Male Room Challenge August: We're 8!

The Male Room Challenge this month is all about our birthday.

For my card I've used the My Favorite Things Old Friends. I colored him with Copic markers, cut him out.

For the background I've used a diy stencil I made with Distress inks (Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard seed, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry)

I made the sentiment in Photoshop and printed it out. I meant it to be on the background, but my laser printer likes to print on the slant, so I cut it out and adhered it to the cardbase with

foamtape, the man as well.

AAA Birthday Challenges #28: Photo Inspiration.

The August theme for the AAA Birthday Challenges is: Photo Inspiration.

I see a turqoise cake and pink flowers.

And as it's a birthday Challenge, a cat licking the cake seems perfect.

I kept the cat a neutral colour so it would match with the pink and turquoise. It's just a coincidence he looks like my own lol.

For the background I inkblended Spun Sugar (plus whatever was left on my inkblending tool) through a circle mask, then I placed a floral  stencil on top and applied Picked Raspberry, both  Distress inks.

I then stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things (Bitty Birthday Wishes), but it was

crooked so I cut out the circle and glued it onto another cardbase and restamped with Versafine ink.

The image is a digi from C.C. Designs. It's also available as a rubber stamp, but that's tiny, so I always opt for the resize possibilities of a digi stamp, it's called Cupcake Kitty.

Coloured it with my markers and then had the Scan N Cut do the cutting. Then I mounted the image with foamtape and placed it on top of the circle.
