AAA Cards Challenge #199 NO Layer + Hugs, with video

This fortnight we play the NO Layer game + the optional twist Hugs, as chosen by Francesca.

My card is technically not a NO Layer, but with colouring it seeps through, as long as the panel is the same size (no obvious layer) it's deemed OK by our team. So don't go matting your panel, because then it will show. You could also make the card base out of colouring card and line the inside, but I'm too thrifty to waste one panel for the back ;-) Also I precut my colouring paper ...

I stamped the My Favorite Things set Let's stick together, made a mask for the pot and cut it out. I've used Gina K amalgam ink and Versafine ink for the sentiment, it is from the

same set.

Coloured the image with Copic markers and gave the small one with the flower some lady like lashes with a fineliner. Stuck the panel on top of my cardbase.

Hexagons

The new Less is More Challenge is: Hexagons/

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Fun with stencils.

I made my own stencil with Hexagon layering dieset and cut apertures from  stencil material.

Then I inkblended Distress inks through it, my most used colors and whatever was left on the foam ;-) ( candied apple, Not so Salty Ocean, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn with a touch or Evergreen bough I suspect).

Stamped the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment strips.

Covered the card, exposing only the corner with the hexagons and splattered a little Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn, so to add sparkle but no weight or dimension, also I don't have hexagon shaped enamel dots.

Toucan birthday

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Stamp it, showcasing SSS and Stamptember if you have it already....I do not ;-).

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is the same.

For my card I used the It's your Birthday 3x4 set for the sentiment and the Waves Stencil, both from Simon  Says Stamp.

And the Toucan from Toucan Party from Whimsy Stamps.

I applied Distress oxides through the stencil on kraft cardstock, splattered with white acryllic paint.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine. I stamped the Toucan

with Intense black ink from SSS and cored it with my Copics, cut it out and mounted it with foamtape. Adhered it to the cardbase.

AAA Birthday Challenge #29 not a card, with video

This month the AAA Birthday Challenge is: not a card.

So I  made little treat bags, boxes, I see brown bags or lunch bags ;-)

I don't have a lot of patterned paper, so I went Autumnal and one with Christmas paper as my birthday is a week before the 25th. But remember we're a birthday challenge.

In the Netherlands kids treat their class on their birthdays, so a tag with Happy Birthday seemed weird to  me, a place card holder for the table made more sense.

I don't have kids so I don't know how it's done these days.

I've designed my little box around

the Milka Moments, but it fits a lot of things, like the round Christmas chocolate balls or Tony Chocolonely minis.

For it you need two pieces of cardstock, one solid, one patterned as I did or what ever you desire.

I think designer pape might be more expensive than normal coloured card,  and Ilike the contrast, so I went fancy on the outside and  normal on the inside, you do see the sides of the little basket, so make sure it's nice.

the solid card should measure 4"x3 1/8", score at 3/4inch on all sides.

the patterned paper should measure 81/4 inches x 2 1/2 inches.

score on the long side at: 1/2"- 31/4- 5" 73/4 inches.

score, fold and burnish all score lines.

cut away wedges as shown on the plans and glue the little tabs. I use hot glue.

AAA Cards Challenges #198: Up to1/3 + leaves, with video

This fortnight we challenge you to leave 2/3 or more of empty white space, in other words use up to 1/3 of your cardfront, plus the option to use leaves the chosen twist by Arlene.

For my cards I've used Simon Says Stamp dies called Fern Square and Leafy Square, diecut them from white cardstock with double sided adhesive behind it, so it's easier to stick down as they have these dainty little frames, so liquid glue didn't feel like a good idea.

That dainty frame also posed a problem for my intended inkblending, so instead I swiped Mowed lawn and Speckled egg on  a panel and stuck the frame on top, then cut along the edges and stuck that down as a whole with liquid glue.

The Happy Birthday is from Bitty Birthday Wishes by My Favorite Things and the With Sympathy is from Tiny Words by Clearly Besotted, both stamped with Versafine ink.

Sparkle Aliens

The new Less is More Challenge is: Sparkle.

Yesterday I got in the Whimsy Space Minions dieset and I had to use it.

I meant to do a rainbow, but for the Les sis More I kept them as green Martians. Didn't realize the aliens are all stuck together so you have lots and lots of extra's . Cut it all from glitter cardstock.

At first only three, but it looked off centre so I added the little one too.

Made a panel with the sentiment on my pc and printed it, cut it to a matte and stuck in on the cardbase. then stuck the Martians on top.

Only and the one green glitter paper, but maybe half a rainbow would also be cool.

Might have to try that next ;-)

The Male Room Challenges September theme: Nature's bounty

This month we at the Male Room are all about autumn, harvest, Thanks giving, nature's bounty.

There's many ways to interpret this, in fact this is my second rendition. I discarded the first.

For my card I've used two sets from Paperie Ink: Many thanks and Autumn fun.

I've stamped the images onto Copic friendly paper and coloured them with Graph-it markers, then cut them out.

For the background/cardbase I've inkblended Distress inks, Mermaid lagoon, blueprint sketch, salty ocean, twisted citron and cracked pistachio.

The sentiment is from the Many thanks set.

Layered my images onto the background as if they're playing in the forest or garden, bringing in the harvest.

I think it's still perfect for a boy, maybe not a manly card though.
