Lawn Ranger

I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Going round in circles; and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes.
And the Male Room Challenge: anything goes.

At first I wanted the Art Impressions Lawn Ranger (Born to ride set) to go around in circles, but that would have taken a really big card, so I kept putting it off. Now I decided to inkblend a circle on the cardbase with Distress Oxides ( Cracked Pistachio and Peacock feathers).
I stamped the sentiments from the same Art Impressions set  with Versafine Onyx black ink.

Then I stamped the Image with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink, cut it out and colored it with my alcohol markers,mounted

it with foamtape and placed it in the circle.


I didn't have anything Concord & 9th(that I thought fitting), so I chose Art Impressions as it's the SSS flavor of the month.

Playing with alcohol inks, the watercolor or smoke experiment

I'm sorry you had a ruff day

The Male room challenge is Anything goes with the option of one layer. So I printed this cute little Beagle baby from Tiddly inks   on Ecoline watercolor paper.
Added the sentiment whilst I was in Photoshop.

I colored the image with Faber- Castell Polychromos pencils, then added some Nuvo Shimmer pen  for a wet nose.

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Beautiful blooms.
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: a Srping Moodboard, and Showcasing Simon Says Stamp exclusives.

For my card I used the SSS Tri Square die to cut out three windows. I wanted it to be a landscape card at first, but I changes it because of the sentiment from Friendships blooms, also SSS. It looks better to me, if it's anchored in a corner, because of the alignment...don't mind me..hehe

I traced the windows on the cardbase, so I knew where to apply Distress Oxides (Squeezed lemonade, Cracked Pistachio and Spun sugar), taken from the mood board. If I have more openings Shaded Lilac

would probably have made it into the mix too.

I  mounted the cardpanel with foamtape and to fill my windows I diecut Paper Smooches Dainty Flowers and Memory Box Sketch Bunny. The Sketch Bunny also had a thin outline, but I went with the solid as I liked the contrast with the dainty flowers. Tucked them in and under the panel, making sure bits would stick out on the front.

Carlijn Design - Vrolijk Pasen, met video NL en UK

Nog net op tijd voor Pasen, heb ik een Paasei gemaakt.

Inkblenden met een brayer was helemaal in een jaar of vijf geleden, dus ik dacht ik stof deze techniek weer even af. Ik gebruik een bureau beschermer, die eigenlijk van de kids afdeling komt, om je meubels tegen kliederen te beschermen, maar het belangrijke eraan is dat er een kleine textuur inzit, waardoor je de  Distress inkt, in dit geval, mooi kan uitblenden, zonder randjes. Belangrijk is wel dat je de inkt in het midden van de brayer houdt, anders krijg je alsnog een randje.

Ik heb gebruikt, Squeezed lemonade, Carved pumpkin en Picked Raspberry. De inkt heb ik gedroogd en getest met embossing poeder, maar voor de zekerheid nog een powdertool gekruikt, dan  Versamark inkt aangebracht op een achtergrond stempel (My Favorite Things Wavy coloring book). IK heb er niet zoveel, maar deze vond ik wel tof, beetje handgetekend, alsof  je dat op het ei heb getekend met een zilveren pen, want om te embossen heb ik Wow metallic platinum gebruikt.

Uit een enkele kaart heb ik een ei gesneden en met foamtape bekleed. eerst het gekleurde paneelop de dubbele kaart geplakt dan het "ei"erop en voor de groet heb ik Carlijn Design's set Zonnige tekesten gebruikt en dezelfe inkt en embossingpoeder. Op maat gesneden en geknipt en waar nodig ook met foamtape bekleed en de rest met dubbelzijdige tape.

Voor nog wat meer sparkle 3 zilveren kristallen, plaksteentjes, rhinestones, noem ze zoals je wilt ;-).

Dance with fairies

The Less is More challnege this fortnight is: subtle colours.

I've been playing with alcohol inks as watercolors and have applied many, many layers of ink onto yupo paper, making the gradation darker and darker as I went.

Then I stamped a fairy , sentiment and star trail from Studio Light (basicsdc24) with Versamark and heat embossed it with Wow metallic  gold rich embossing powder.
