you are in my prayers

For today's card I masked off a strip on the cardbase , then inkblended Distress Oxides (Carved Pumpkin and Squeezed Lemonade) together with Versamagic inks (Red Magic and Mango Madness)

Then I stamped the dandelion from Marianne design (tc0837) with Versamark and heat embossed it with Wow! embossing powder (opaque bright white). I then stamped the sentiment from Karin Joan (encouraged KJ1724) with Versafine Onyx black ink.
A few glittery enamel dots, but just a few because of the occasion.

BBQ Boss

I got  this cute digi stamp from Lili of the Valley yesterday, and I colored him up whilst watching some scary movie, once it gets really scary I look down a lot ;-)..It wasn't  scary just lots of blood...anyway I printed it on the Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers.

I think it's a him as most man claim to BBQ and pretend burning food is a specialty lol...
I'm sorry the image is not available on SSS, but the markers and the markerpaper are :-D.

AAA Cards Challenge #118: frame

This challenge was chosen by our DT member Ksenija and it's Frame.

Our sponsor this fortnight is: Stamplorations.

For my card I made the frame by choosing two sizes of a stitched nesting die set. Any you have will do.
I made the sea by coloring a strip of Talens Ecoline (indigo) on waterart paper by Kippers.
Splattered it with Dylusions white spray as if it was sea foam.
I  diecut the sailboat from Joy! Crafts from sturdy card.

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted ( brushed greetings II) and I stamped it with Versafine onyx black ink.

I  used taperunner to adhere the watercolor panel to the cardbase, then mounted the frame with foamtape and placed it on a slant. I also mounted the sailboat with foamtape.

This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.

more birthday fishes

But this time, not actual fishes, although I am not sure what category a Mermaid fits in ;-).
The Less is More Challenge this week is: from your bits box and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is : Bright and cheerful.

For my card I inkblended a circle as sea onto the cardbase (Versamagic Sea breeze and Turquoise gem and a little Distress Oxide Mermaid lagoon).

I had a stash previously diecut and left over from another project.
The mermaid is from My Favorite Things ( Mermazing) and the turtle is from C.C. Designs (under the sea). The seaweed i diecut from blue green colored card.
I used foam for the mermaid and the other bits are stuck down with liquid glue.
I also had some black starfishes in the bowl, but they didn't go, but they left glue spots, so I covered it with a bit more seaweed.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (birthday balloons) and I stamped it  with Hero arts hybrid ink.
There's a curved sentiment in the set, that's why I pulled this set, but the curvature wasn't the same as my scenic circle, so I chose to use the tiny one, keep more of the space empty .

More digi club images

I made a few more card with the Craftin Desert Divas digiclub  images I got.
I still have to do something with the aliens I also got, haven't had the chance.

This one's Over the Moon,  and it features the cutest cow I've ever seen, I colored her with my Spectrum Noir  markers and Crafter's Companion Neenah Paper.
The chicken wire is Tim Holtz/ Sizzix and behind it I inkblended the cardbase in blues, as if the sky : Distress Oxides Mermaid Lagoon and Blue print sketch (I believe).
I added a white gel pen dot on the eyes, I forgot one , but added it after I saw  whilst editing the photo...oops..also onthe bell to make it shiny.

The second card I hadn't shared yet is: No Bunny Like You

And again so so cute. I have a vegetable patch and in real life carrot stealing bunnies are not cute at all!, But I couldn't resist this one, also colored with Spectrum
Noir markers and then I cut it out. Same colors of inkblending the sky and as "fields" I have torn some kraft card and stuck it on with glue or foam to the cardbase.

The sentiment I printed on the cardpanel and then cut the panel down so to make the window. I just eyeballed it, so real rhyme or reason to it's size.

Zomer kaart- Summer card, with video

Today's card is a summery beach card.
I was inspired by my AAA dt member Xenia, for the letters, When I saw it, I saw Hawaiian shirt and wanted to emulate it.
So for my card I measured the alphabet dies from Marianne Design (Col1449) so I knew where to stamp and color on the Crafter's Companion Neenah paper. I used my Illustrator markers for this, and I started with some shading, but quickly left that avenue.
For the "shirt print"I've used the Karin Joan Folia set (KJ1723) and I stamped it with My Favorite Things hybrid ink so I could use my markers, then cut them out.

Then I inkblended the cardbase with Distress Oxides (mermaid lagoon and Blueprint Sketch) and splattered with a water and bleach solution, then with white spray paint for the sea effect.

I diecut the sea critters from Marianne Design (Col1433) from colored card, but you can also use white card and use your markers of course. Out them together with glue and foamtape, added a white dot with a Sharpie on each eye, makes them look

Time Traveler card- inspired by David Tennant's dr Who

The Monday Challenge from Simon Says Stamp  is: transport it.
I recently got this set from Kindred Stamps: timer traveler and to  me it's David Tennant, my favorite Dr Who to date so I kinda colored him like I remember him.
His means of transportation is the Police Box time capsule rocket ship thing, the Tardis.
For a time lord Dr. Who seems to have a preference to spend his time in present day London..funny.

I started my card by making the galaxy background, for this I used 300grams watercolor paper from Schut (classic) it's textured so no good for stamping, but great for these things.
I used Talens Ecoline, Distress and Dylusions
Spray Stains for the splatter.

Mounted the panel with foamtape onto a cardbase.

Stamped the image with Simon Says Stamp intense black ink and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers and cut them out.

The sentiment is also from the same set and I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed it with Papermania ultra fine silver. Mounted the bottom of the strip with foam and used taperunner on the upper bit. The Tardis always seems to travel at an angle and so I mounted it with foam also because of the watercolor paper and stuck "the Doctor" on top.

I have included two videos where I make similare galaxy backgrounds, but using Distress ink refills.

Using unloved stash - Stickers and Thickers, with video

For today's cards I dug through my stash again, I get gifted these creative stash things, but I never use them as I feel like a stamper, but then they sit there and sit there, so I thought I would use some of this unloved stash. And actually I thought these Llamas and Cactii were  quite funny.

So I decided on an inkblended sunset (Memento inks: Love Letter, Morocco and Tangelo and for the ground Rich Cocoa)

For the blue ones  I used : Summer Sky, Bahama blue and Danube blue.
The Purple one: Eggplant, Sweet Plum and Lulu Lavender.

It's pretty straightforward: diecut a circle, this one's a stitched one, but any will do, any shape too, trace the opening on the cardbase and inkblend there.

Stamp sentiment of your choosing on the panel and mount the panel with foamtape and adhere to the cardbase.
Adhere the Thickers and or Stickers and raise with foamtape if needed.

I used Sizzix Birthday by Stephanie Barnard with Versafine Onyx black ink for the sentiment, but again any will do.

Regenboog ijsjes, rainbow of popsicles

For this card I stamped the little popsicle in the Zomer set (KJ1713) multiple times in different colors Memento inks: Love Letter, Tangelo, Dandelion, Pear Tart, Summer Sky, Bahama blue and Grape Jelly.
I moved the cardbase rather than the stamp inside my Stamper's Friend.
I stamped every color twice, to get a good saturation.

Then I diecut Gefeliciteerd (KJ 1721) from black and white cardstock and adhered it to the card.
I love how the word has is own shadow diecut.

Then an array of glittery enamel dots, to pick up the colors in the rainbow, but I think they could be beachballs too...?

Birthday Fishes

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: frame it, showcasing Memory Box products.

I think I spent more time looking for the I'm a narwhal stampset. I looked under M for Memory box and then W cos I thought maybe it's Wow, in the end I left it but then found it under P for Poppy Stamps haha...anyway...
I used the Memory box Under the sea collage die and the Simon Says Stamp  Best Fishes set for the sentiment.

I cut out the sea collage from a panel, stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink and then did some inklending on the cardbase.
For the inkblending I used : Versamagic inks Turqoise gem and Distress Oxide ink Mermaid lagoon.
Ocean Depth, Sea breeze and
They both react to water, but not so well on this cardstock, but I splattered it anyway with a water and bleach solution. It's faint but you can see it.
I didn't want to use any white splatter or silver or blue even, although I use the distress spray stains for this a lot, i thought the effect  of the frame would be lessened.
I like the contrast of the white with the blue centre, it really pops.

Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

Smaller Merci Chocolates box, for two bars, free pattern and video

For this box you need a piece of card  sized: 4"1/8 high and 3"7/8 wide. It's almost square so double check you score on the right side..I messed up a few this way ;-)

On the 3"7/8 side score at: 3/8 and 3,5"inches
the turn the paper to the 4"1/8 inch and score at: 3/8. 1"7/8. 2"1/4,3"3/4

Fold and burnish your score lines, then notch as indicated and glue with your preferred glue, I use hot glue gun.

I will enter this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: anything but a card. For more information on this challenge, see this.

AAA Cards Challenges #117: Geometrics

This fortnight the challenge is: Geometrics and was picked by  DT member Elaine's.
Our Sponsor is Uniko  and the prize is the choice of one in stock stamp set.

For my card I used a hexagon die from Nellie Snellen and diecut it 7 times our of a cardpanel, the die is appr. 2cm in diameter and I staggered them in a fun way.
I then Stamped the sentiment from Uniko (All occasion sentiments #6) with Versafine Onyx black ink.

I traced the openings onto Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and then colored the shapes with Spectrum Noir markers (dr3, or2,ct3, cg3,lg5,ib3, lv3) and lathered the hexagons with Nuvo Shimmer pen for shine. You could also cut out glitter paper in
a rainbow order and inlay the openings...I only thought of this whilst putting glitter pen on top lol. Adhered the rainbow panel with liquid glue, so I could place it with some wiggle time, then mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to a cardbase.

For more information, more DT examples or to play along the AAA cards Challenge, see this.

Masculine card with video

With Father's day coming up in some countries, I thought I'd give you some inspiration for masculine cards, birthday or other occasions, and you can use your scraps if you have any.

I basically made all the cards kind of the same, but you can  change them to portrait if you want and or change the direction of the patterned paper banner if you prefer. I make one in the video, but the idea is the same for all, mounted the patterned paper with just tape runner and the  banners with foam tape.

Friendships

This fortnight the Less is More Challenge theme is: friendship.

For my card I pulled out the Clearly besotted Best friends set and I meant to use that one only, but upon browsing I came across the C.C. designs kitty with chickies and I thought that would go very well together with the sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

I stamped both with My Favorite Things Hybrid ink onto Waterart paper. and colored the image with Spectrum Noir aquablend pencils.
Adhered the panel onto a cardbase with tape runner.

Sunset frame

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: all things bright and beautiful, showcasing Paper Artsy. I don't have any Paper Artsy products, although I love their whimsical flower stamps.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday 3x4 set and stamped it with Versamark ink on black cardstock and then  heat embossed it with Paper Mania ultra fine silver embossing powder

I then diecut the circle frame, I think it's Memory Box but I got it second hand, so not 100% sure.

I traced the opening onto the cardbase and inkblended Versamagic inks: Pink Grapefruit, Red Brick and Perfect Plumeria
as if a sunset. I thought the black card would make the colors pop more and make them look brighter. Also it feels more masculine to me with the chalky finish, but other inks would be even brighter.

Mounted the black panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

For more information on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, see this.

Craftin Dersert Divas monthly digi club

I signed up for this monthly kit as it's a super deal. You pay $7 a month via Paypal and you can choose $14  worth of images.
I got the  Meow to you (of course.it's a kitty lol)
I printed all the images on the Crafter's Companion Marker paper and had my Scan N cut do all the cutting. Then I colored all the images with alcohol markers, I mixed and matched Spectrum Noirs and Illustrators.
For the cat card I diecut a circle and traced it onto the cardbase. I inkblended Oxides Cracked pistachio and Versamagic Turqoise gem. Then I splattered a whole lot of Distress spray stains: brushed pewter, cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon, white linen and water)
Mounted the panel with foamtape.
the sentiment is printed onto the panel.

For the Mudder's day digi card I used and oval mask and Memento inks Espresso truffle and rich cocoa of the mud pool ;-) Mounted the image with foam tape this time., more like a one layer card with one raised element. I didn't know what  sentiment to use for this cute set of piggies. Mother's day has come and gone and I don't have a mother anymore, so...I'm thinking for a pig aficionado like me, not sure yet, could be a money gift too, like a Piggy bank?

The Birthday card was made with elements from Birthday Surprise

I printed the sentiment onto a panel, then diecut three circles. Traced those onto the cardbase and inkblended  the background with Oxides: squeezed lemonade, carved pumpkin and cracked pistachio. Mounted the panel with foamtape and place the critters in the circles, making sure some bits would sitck out, more fun I think. raised them with foamtape where needed.

It's fun to color whilst watching some tv and for no good reason then just being creative, instead of working on a challenge or alike ;-)

Summery popsicles- Vrolijke waterijsjes

For this card I stamped the same Popsicle stamp three times with different color combinations. I used the Karin Joan set KJ1713 Zomer.
I used Memento ink for the stamping: Dandelion-Tangelo, Lady Bug

New Sprout- Pear Tart- Bamboo Leaves
Summer Sky- Bahama blue- Danube Blue

I flush mounted the  one at the back, then used one or two layers of foamtape for the others.
I added Marianne Design enamel dots PL4512 and PL4513.
I used the Shimmer Spritz, Sprakle spray to give the whole card that glistening summery feeling.

Happy Anniversary

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Anniversary/wedding showcasing Impression Obsession products.

For my card I used the 6x6 background stamp from Impression Obsession (painted stripes) and I inked it with Versafine onyx black ink. I did red first, but that was too bright for me.

Then I diecut a bunch of flowers with the Impression Obsessions Spiral flowers die042-1 and I fiddled them together, they're a bit small for me haha. I even left one glittery purple unrolled after attempting to roll up two.
Die cut the Happy Anniversary from gold metallic card and used  liquid glue to attach everything.

Collab #4: Flowers with Karen Hasheck, with video

Today I do a Youtube collab with Karen Hasheck, she has a wonderful style and her collab card will really surprise you. It blew my mind anyway ;-)

For my card I used a morning glory stamp, the tame cousin of my nemesis the bindweed...It's from Crealies (clrs05) and I stamped it with My Favorite Things Hybrid black ink onto Waterart paper from Kippers Hobby. But any watercolor paper you have will do of course.

I used my diy/homemade watercolor brushes, waterbrushes or aquabrushes filled with Distress ink spray. Works a treat if you don't confuse ML (mermaid lagoon) for Mowed Lawn haha...anyway I think it works out well as Twisted citron was my only green and the Mermaid lagoon or Mowed Lawn I wanted for shading.

After coloring I did a partial diecut of a rounded rectangle and inkblended Versamagic (oasis green) on the cardbase.

Stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp (it's your birthday 3x4) with Versafine onyx black ink and then used tape runner to adhere the panel to the cardbase.

Added 3 homemade enamel dots with the Wow! melt it powder.there's a video on my channel for it too, as well as the diy glue dots.

For Karen's video, see this.
