Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Wrap it up, guest designer, with video

wed-designerspotlight-header
This is the first and  the theme is: wrap it up, showcasing Tim Holtz Products.
I made two projects: a giftbag and gift tags. For the giftbag I use a box or a stack of cd cases or even en reem of paper.
I like to use wrapping paper, but designer paper will work, as long as it's bendable and won't break.50dollar_voucher_600px

I stamped the image with Staz-on black ink as the paper is a bit smooth, and this way I'm sure it won't smear. Set it aside to dry whilst I make my matching tags.
Well I should say somewhat matching, because I made a proper night sky with a full moon.
I applied Distress oxides: black soot, chippped sapphire and blueprint sketch.
Applied the moon on the tag the same way.
The Santa Sleigh is very long, so I decided to divide the scene into three tags, all different, but matching. I thought it would be cool for one person to get all three tags on their gifts.
After all the inks were dry I first cut the paper into three pieces, then cut the angles on a slant and pierced the tag hole in it.Simon Says StampMaterials used:

First I must say what an honour it is to be the Wednseday Challenge Guest designer  for Simon

Wednesday Challenges.

As always if you play along and link up your creations, you might win a $50 gift card to the Simon Says Stamp Store.

Wahtever fits your  needs. So excuse my mash in a bag, it;s not a culinary highlight I know, but sometimes comes in handy.
I basically wrap paper around the box and tape it shut on three sides, burnish the folds on the corners, I tend to use tape runner and or double sided tape, glue gun even.

To personalize my bag I stamped the Tim Holtz stamp Santa Sleigh (K6-2435) from Stampendous and applied  a full moon.
To make the moon I've used Stazon cotton white and although I reinked it was very dry, but perfect for the look of the moon surface. I've used a mini ink blending tool to "stamp" my moon by dipping the foam on the inkpad.

I thought the giftbag was a little too big to inkblend the whole front.

Then I splattered with water and Distress spray stain Brushed pewter and Dylusions white linen

At this time  it's still one half sheet of thick white card, I will cut it into tags after it's complete.

Instead of names, find the matching tags? ..maybe not..

There are dies that do this, but I don't have them this big ;-).

  4. Well I'm so please I watched the video. Brilliant, I've never seen a bag made like this and think it's remarkable that it seems so easy and easy to remember too , normally when I watch a video I've all ways got to save it and look back on how it was done. Not with your tutorial, I will of course save the video (If I find it on you tube, as can't save it direct) but as I said will remember it lol. Also the tags, WOW they were really impressive. Thankyou so much for sharing your time and expertise with us all. Xxx

  7. What a cool way to make a bag. And the tags, for that matter. I love that it's totally DIY, no reliance on dies. Both are lovely. I really like the silhouette against the beautifully ink blended background.
