Collywobbles

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Anything Goes, Showcasing Impression Obsession products.

I made a trio of Artist Trading Coins, I 've punched three circles (2,5") from Manila cardstock and inkblended Distress Oxides on it: Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry..
Then I stamped the coins with Studio Light StampSS287 with Versafine Clair Nocturn ink. For the sentiment I've used the same ink and Impression Obsession Stamp B17227 CollyWobbles (in the Simon Says Stamp shop it's called Collywabbles in case you're looking for it). I stamped them first  directly on the coin, but because of the textured background it wasn't  really popping, so I restamped them on white card and cut them
out and adhered them on top.
I like how the font ties in with the Artist Trading coins style.
I diecut some butterflies from Crafter's Companion from white card, but yuck..so peeled them of and where the glue  messed up the inkblending I added a few matching enamel dots to hide blemishes.

I'm bananas for you

I colored up this adorable monkey from C.C. Designs Monkey set  with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and colored it with my Spectrum Noir and Illustrator markers. Cut it out.
Stamped the foliage from Marianne Design Folia set with Memento ink and cut it out.

Then I masked off the area on the card base and applied Memento inks with a finger dauber to crate my bokeh leafy canopy background. On top I've applied Lawn Fawn Yeti white ink.
I've them stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair Nocturn ink, but I think I  have applied too  much ink (moist inkpad too). So not 100% happy with the fatty fonts in the sentiment, but hey it's a no do over policy here ;-) might pop a banner on top if I
still hate it tomorrow.

Added foamtape to the images and adhered it on top.

I thought the Monkey is perfect for a boy or guy Valentine's card, so I'm entering it into the Male Room Challenge: Nature.

And also the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge:  Love is in the air.

And the Wednesday Challenge for Simon Says Stamp is: have a heart.

You mean the world to me

I made a card for three challenges.

Less is More has a sketch up, which I've used for my layout.
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Alcohol , drinks or inks, and I've used the Ranger alcohol inks.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Have a heart, featuring  My Favorite Things products.

For my card I masked off the area from the sketch and I've applied blending solution on Yupo paper and then inks and a silver mixative for shine and stars. I meant to make a milky way or galaxy.

Then I had to cut it out as the inks seeped under the masking tape and I had splatters, ruining the CAS look; attached it with taperunner.

Stamped the sentiment from My Favorite things' Space Explorer with Extreme Black ink, also MFT, same ink for the spaceman, but I stamped it on the Crafter's Companion marker paper and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. I cut him out with scissors and attached some foamtape on the back to place him on the card.

It's as lovey dovey as it gets here ;-) I don't really do Valentine Day cards being single lol.

10K reasons video hop and giveaway , video

Sorry I'm late...

.. I got distracted by a pretty flower and snail....I thought perfect for the new Male Room Challenge : nature.

I've used a digi stamp from Lee Holland art, and printed it on Talens Ecoline printable paper and colored it with Polychromos pencils. I only have the 12 set, so I tried to get the squirrel to look as red as possible, but yeah I need more colors haha.

Cut the panel slightly smaller and mounted it with foamtape onto the cardbase.

AAA Cards Challenge #132: up to 1/3 + masking, with video

This fortnight our sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays and our theme is use up to one third and as an added option, use masking.

I used masking to  protect 2/3 of my card whilst I was inkblending Distresss Oxides (Chipped Sapphire, Mermaid lagoon and Tumbled glass). I  made the area smaller and 1/3, just so I could stamp my sentiment in the same 1/3 area.

For the sentiment I've used CAS-ual Fridays set called Heartfelt sayings, and I just love the little hearts dotted around the sentiment.

For the Strip I've used Creative expressions stamp  Secret Woodland and I stamped it with Versafine Onyx black ink, just as the Sentiment. Heat set it to be sure, then splattered some Midas Touch out of a Nuvo Shimmer pen onto the scene.Added three golden rhinestones, I wish I had heart shaped golden ones.

For the second card and video I've used Oxide Dusty Concord and Versamagic SPring pansy and Eggplant, and the stamp is Magical Meadow also Creative Expressions and I kept the Sentiment the same from CAS-ual Fridays.
For a chance to win the $25 giftcard to CAS-ual Fridays please play along with our challenge.

Welcome Baby, Lee Holland art, video

Today I'm using one of the digis I recently bought on Etsy from Lee Holland art.
They are the cutest images, really and affordable too. I paid with Paypal and you get the downloads immediately. That's what I like about digi stamps, No postage, no customs, no waiting for them to drop on your doormat, and best of all you can resize them to your needs.
 Find his shop here.

I printed mine on the Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.

I went with a green teal bunny, as if he's a stuffed one. But with the hearts it could well be a Valentine card.
The sentiment I've added whilst editing the digi.

Hope you like them as much as I do, can't resist cute, you know that and if there's a cat on it...I'm such a sucker...

Recycled CAS Cards

Hello, the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: recycle something.
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: CAS, showcasing Hero Arts Products.

I recycled one of the shop bought Christmas cards I got last year (not last Christmas, they're still on display :-D).

Anyway I would never touch those beautiful handmade ones and they have they're own keep safe container.

For the first  card I had an option of 4, almost went with the gold bird, but that was actually too pretty .

So I chose this windowed one, and cut our a circle, trying to include the sentiment, but it didn't fit completely so I just chopped off the edge and placed the circle off centre for more interest.

But first I used the Simon Says Stamp retro Deer die to cut out a silhouette.
For the Hero Arts bit I stamped the Classic Christmas Borders with Memento Sky Blue ink in the bottom, this instead of Merry Christmas and there's a sentiment already, albeit a Dutch one.

For the second card I used the Retro Deer I now have left over. I glued him onto a stitched circle  I diecut from Craft card.
Mounted the circle with foam tape.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts' Color Layered Deer. I found out I'm not very good at lining those up ;-). I've used Distress Oxides Iced Spruce to stamp the sentiment onto a grey/green card base. Added a red rhinestone for a pop of color and I know Rudolph is not a deer, but hey .artistic freedom? haha.

something new

I've been playing with A new kind of Watercolor paper, the Spectrum Noir card 300grams.
First time using it, it reminds me a lot  of the Tim Holtz wc card.
I've used Distress inks and free downloads from Karin Joan Newsletter subbies.
I found the paper is very absorbent, and probably not best if you try to move the Distress inks around after stamping them with a home made stamp from  craft foam.

I love that it's very white and comes in A4 sheets, this is half a sheet.
I will have to play some more with it, but for now it's OK.
I've used Distress inks Weathered wood, Bundled Sage and Iced Spruce on the leaves and Frayed Burlap for the branch.

Beer crisper..

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: use something new, showcasing Simon Says Stamp products.
The Male Room Challenge is: Anything goes, with the twist of Beverages.

For my something new I've used a new  12x12"inch cardstock with beverages, I felt kinda bad cutting into it for my background, as I never use patterned paper either, also something new haha, just for giftbaxes or treatbags and such.

I've used the Simon Says Stamp Adult beverages set, combined with the Riley and Company set RWD551, I just think it's hilarious, esp for a manly card.

I've stamped both with Versafine Clair ink onto watercolor paper,  and colored it with fluid watercolors and then mounted it with foamtape.

Adhered the patterned paper with tape runner to the cardbase and mounted the colored panel on top, still CAS , well kinda...lol

Happy Birthday Aquarius

I  made this card for the Less is More Challenge: Water
and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: something new.

For my water I used the Craftin Desert Diva Stamp Zodiac kids Aquarius.
And for my Something new I've used the CAS-ual Fridays Set called Heartfelt saying. I got it with my last order from Simon Says Stamp, I'd say it's pretty new and shiny and pretty hehe.

I colored the image with Polychromos pencils and mounted it with foamtape.
On the cardbase I inkblended Distress Oxides, Broken China and Chipped Sapphire through a diy stencil of bubbles to reinforce the water theme.

The sentiment I've stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturn ink.
Mounted the little watergirl on top.

Aquarius is coming up on Januari 20th, so a good time to make it I think.

AAA Cards Challenge #131 Sketch + pastels, with video

This fortnight the AAA cards challenge is a Sketch and as an optional twist there's the use pastel colors add on.

Our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers and you could win the Smile stamp set.

For my card I masked off the three strips and inkblended what I considered pastel Distress Oxide colors: Squeezed lemonade, Cracked pistachio and Tumbled glass.
Then I stamped the sentiment and the arrows from the Happy Little Stampers set called Mix mash. I've used darker shades of Distress oxides, so they would show, but I  made it much less pastel like this way, I've used Mowed lawn, Mermaid lagoon and Carved pumpkin. I had to elongate my arrows to fill the bar.

Added three glittery enamel dots in matching colors.

I know my strips are wider than the sketch, but I really wanted to fit my stamps inside. I  think you can still see the sketch though ;-)
