CAS Happy Birthday

I made this card for the Less is More challenge: one layer and blooms/petals.
Ans the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes, showcasing Concord &9th.


For my card I used two Concord & 9th sets (you are enough and butterfly beauty for the sentiment).
I stamped the outline and sentiment with Versafine onyx black ink,directly on the cardbase for the ONE Layer challenge and then used the petals for color, I used pink and magenta inks.
Added three pink enamel dots to finish the card. I positioned the flower in the bottom corner to leave as much white space as possible, there's is actually more stem to

that flower, but it has no fill in stamp so it stays white, unless you go in with pencils or markers and my cardstock doesn't like them, the markers will bleed through and it's too slick for pencils.

AAA Cards Challenge #139 Sketch + Shaker, with video

This fortnight our challenge is a Sketch plus the optional twist of a shaker.
Our sponsor for this game is Winnie and Walter.
I only have one set of W&W and so for my  frist card I used the Marianne Design Collectables Col1386. It's actually a "build your own giraffe" but I used the negative. I think you can tell what it is... Not all of them work, but the dino set does also.

I diecut the body and head from a panel and then stamped the sentiment with Versafine onyx black ink. It's from a Marianne design set EC0171

I then traced the opening onto the cardbase and onto a sheet of white craft foam, the same size as my panel.

Using the traced line I knew where to apply Distress Oxides Cracked pistachio.
Added double sided tape to the craft foam sheet and acetate and adhered it to the panel.
I've filled my shaker with green toned sequins and fun colored stars. I did start out picking out only the green ones, then I though Oh that blue is pretty too, so is the purple..and in they all went ;-). Closed my shaker by adhereing the cardbase on top.



The second card is done pretty much the same way, I just changed the shape of the shaker window into a heart to match with the Winnie & Walter sentiment from Big Hugs.

Lawn Ranger

I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Going round in circles; and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes.
And the Male Room Challenge: anything goes.

At first I wanted the Art Impressions Lawn Ranger (Born to ride set) to go around in circles, but that would have taken a really big card, so I kept putting it off. Now I decided to inkblend a circle on the cardbase with Distress Oxides ( Cracked Pistachio and Peacock feathers).
I stamped the sentiments from the same Art Impressions set  with Versafine Onyx black ink.

Then I stamped the Image with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink, cut it out and colored it with my alcohol markers,mounted

it with foamtape and placed it in the circle.


I didn't have anything Concord & 9th(that I thought fitting), so I chose Art Impressions as it's the SSS flavor of the month.

Playing with alcohol inks, the watercolor or smoke experiment

I'm sorry you had a ruff day

The Male room challenge is Anything goes with the option of one layer. So I printed this cute little Beagle baby from Tiddly inks   on Ecoline watercolor paper.
Added the sentiment whilst I was in Photoshop.

I colored the image with Faber- Castell Polychromos pencils, then added some Nuvo Shimmer pen  for a wet nose.

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Beautiful blooms.
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: a Srping Moodboard, and Showcasing Simon Says Stamp exclusives.

For my card I used the SSS Tri Square die to cut out three windows. I wanted it to be a landscape card at first, but I changes it because of the sentiment from Friendships blooms, also SSS. It looks better to me, if it's anchored in a corner, because of the alignment...don't mind me..hehe

I traced the windows on the cardbase, so I knew where to apply Distress Oxides (Squeezed lemonade, Cracked Pistachio and Spun sugar), taken from the mood board. If I have more openings Shaded Lilac

would probably have made it into the mix too.

I  mounted the cardpanel with foamtape and to fill my windows I diecut Paper Smooches Dainty Flowers and Memory Box Sketch Bunny. The Sketch Bunny also had a thin outline, but I went with the solid as I liked the contrast with the dainty flowers. Tucked them in and under the panel, making sure bits would stick out on the front.

Carlijn Design - Vrolijk Pasen, met video NL en UK

Nog net op tijd voor Pasen, heb ik een Paasei gemaakt.

Inkblenden met een brayer was helemaal in een jaar of vijf geleden, dus ik dacht ik stof deze techniek weer even af. Ik gebruik een bureau beschermer, die eigenlijk van de kids afdeling komt, om je meubels tegen kliederen te beschermen, maar het belangrijke eraan is dat er een kleine textuur inzit, waardoor je de  Distress inkt, in dit geval, mooi kan uitblenden, zonder randjes. Belangrijk is wel dat je de inkt in het midden van de brayer houdt, anders krijg je alsnog een randje.

Ik heb gebruikt, Squeezed lemonade, Carved pumpkin en Picked Raspberry. De inkt heb ik gedroogd en getest met embossing poeder, maar voor de zekerheid nog een powdertool gekruikt, dan  Versamark inkt aangebracht op een achtergrond stempel (My Favorite Things Wavy coloring book). IK heb er niet zoveel, maar deze vond ik wel tof, beetje handgetekend, alsof  je dat op het ei heb getekend met een zilveren pen, want om te embossen heb ik Wow metallic platinum gebruikt.

Uit een enkele kaart heb ik een ei gesneden en met foamtape bekleed. eerst het gekleurde paneelop de dubbele kaart geplakt dan het "ei"erop en voor de groet heb ik Carlijn Design's set Zonnige tekesten gebruikt en dezelfe inkt en embossingpoeder. Op maat gesneden en geknipt en waar nodig ook met foamtape bekleed en de rest met dubbelzijdige tape.

Voor nog wat meer sparkle 3 zilveren kristallen, plaksteentjes, rhinestones, noem ze zoals je wilt ;-).

Dance with fairies

The Less is More challnege this fortnight is: subtle colours.

I've been playing with alcohol inks as watercolors and have applied many, many layers of ink onto yupo paper, making the gradation darker and darker as I went.

Then I stamped a fairy , sentiment and star trail from Studio Light (basicsdc24) with Versamark and heat embossed it with Wow metallic  gold rich embossing powder.

AAA Cards Challenge #138: Along the Edge + Sewing. With video

This fortnight our theme is : Along the Edge with the optional twist of "sewing". It was Elaine's choice and our sponsor this game is Stamplorations.

For my card I used a Bugaboo digi  stamp called Needle Queen, but there's a few in this category, check them out here. I've printed here on the edge of a Ecoline watercolor panel, suitable for your printer, colored her with Spectrum Aquablend pencils and a Dove blender pen.

The panel is from the same paper and I;ve added the sentiment in Photoshop, you can also do this in Word or alike.
Because of the sentiment : make your own style" and the image of an older lady, I went with bright and weird colours. I think it goes

with the sentiment and the image.

I've then diecut a semi circle from that panel and stamped a round stitched stamped around it. I  bought it second hand from Facebook, but it came like this, I have no idea who made it. But you might have something similar or you might try to do it by hand. I l almost did with the bottom one, as it is wood mounted rubber from TimHoltz/StampersAnonymous. and I  didn't wan to to mess up all my work.
But the Stamppositioner worked, even if I wobbled the stamps as it's very narrow.
For both I've used Versafine Clair Nocturn ink.
I covered up a little smudge with Create a Smile enamel shapes. Mounted the panel with lots of

foamtape as it's so thin and flimsy, then added the lady and then added all to the cardbase. Trimmed where necessary.

Carlijn Design - Bedankt jij bent een schat, met video in Dutch and English

Vandaag heb ik een piraat met zijn schatkist gekleurd.
De schatkist en de teksten zijn uit de Carlijn Design set "bedankt schat", hoe kan het ook anders.
De achtergrond moet een lucht en strand uitbeelden en die heb ik gemaakt door Distress inkt met een kwast aan te brengen op de kaartbasis.

Ik heb dan een rond venster uit een enkele kaart gestanst en de teksten gestempeld met Versafine Clair inkt. Eerst zat er een foutje  in, kijk de video wat ik voor stoms deed ;-)

De schatkist heb ik uitgestanst met bijpassende stans en de piraat van My Favorite Tjings had ik in mijn voor gestempelde en  uitgesneden voorraad.
Beide heb ik gestempeld met My Favorite Things Extreme black inkt en gekleurd met de Spectrum Noir normale en triblend markers.

De enkele kaart heb ik met foam op de basis geplakt en de piraat en schatkist ook waarnodig met foam tape en of gewone tape.
Beetje Nuvo shimmer pen op de juwelen voor dat schitterende effect.

Wake me when it's Spring

That sentiment from Simon Says Stamp (Some Bunny Special) seemed fitting for my snail card. As They seem to spring (ha) into action as soon as the first rays of sunshine break and even without anything vegetable related yet, they will munch on snowdrops,daffodils, fritilarias, well anything pretty on my piece of land..I have an allotment garden, a vegetable patch if you will. Hosta's are never safe, neither are any of my vegetables lol...anything I like, they like!

The Male Room Challenge is Spring and the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is on the farm, and although I dismissed my Lawn Fawn Critters on the farm for something a bit more out of the box, I'm sure there's many snails on any farm, just like vegetable patch, the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, is animal antics and so I am entering this card into all three challenges.

I've stamped the images on hot pressed smooth watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturn ink and colored them in with Inktense Pencils, then used the coordinating dies to cut them out (Spellbinders 18775 snail). The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (Some Bunny Special) and I stamped it with the same ink.
