I've used a Tim Holtz Stencil (holiday knit) and Distress ink Fired Brick and a mask I made with a square die to ink the pattern on the card.
The stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts (get merry set) with Memento black and added a few sequins in matching colors to fill up some of the white.
Usually I don't mind the white but somehow it wasn't very "merry" without it ;-)
