Purrmaid Shark

 Hello, today I have another Purrmaid digi from Dustin Pike via the Whimsy Stamps shop.

I love these, can you tell, I have refrained to color it like my cat again though, aren't you proud of me? haha I thought a ginger cat would go well with the blue Distress inked background, but I made him darker and as his tail is a Tiger Shark I went with a nice tanned skin..erhm I mean fur. I love his expression.

For the sentiment I've used another Whimsy Stamp set, also Dustin: it's from a clear set: Looking Shark.

I printed the digi, cut it out and colored it then with alcoholmarkers, I've used a few kinds to get it colored as I wanted.

I've used a white gel pen for details, I don't like it on fur and try not to go overboard with it.

I made the sand bank with the Whimsy Stamps Stencil: Ocean. I had to trace it onto some masking paper and cut it out to mask the bank from the sea, kinda worked..don't look at it;-) Splashed with water for bubbles.

I then thought it might be fun if the sea had more life in it, so I placed the Ocean Stencil back and with Hickory Smoke I've added the shadows in the Sea. just a hint and not shiny like I did before with embossing powder, I think I might even have gone lighter grey, but I was worried it would let too much blue through.

Mounted the Purrmaid Shark on top, making sure he peaks out the inked area, I like that, I wanted him a bit higher, but had to shift him, so the shadows still made sense.

Happy Father's Day

 Hello, Happy Father's day to all the Dad's out there, human or otherwise.

What is more symbolic that a tie for a father's day gift, or birthday for that matter?

I've used the Whimsy Stamps digi: Dudley Ties from Dustin Pike and Dudley doesn't look too happy with yet more ties, now does he?

I probably should have added "" quotes to the sentiment, that is also a Digital set from Whimsy Stamps,aptly named Father's Day Sentiments, from Bev Rochester.

I printed the image and sentiment and then cut them out, colored Dudley with alcohol markers

Made the background with Distress inks (Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. I wanted colors that would contrast or show off the image at it's best (as usual) but ended up with The Hague soccer team colors,might be nice if the Dad getting this would be a great fan.

Mounted the sentiment with foamtape and the image with liquid glue, then adhered both to the cardase.

Purrmaid Friend

 Hello, today I have another Purrmaid digi from Dustin Pike via the Whimsy Stampsshop. 

I love these, can you tell, I have refrained to color it like my cat again though, aren't you proud of me? haha I thought a ginger cat would go well with the blue Distress inked background.

Haven't figured out a sentiment yet: I need Vitamin Sea or Sea you soon? You're a Pearl of a Friend? I will choose when I need it ;-)

I printed the digi, cut it out and colored it then with all the alcohol marker brands I have. At first I thought the shading was too harsh but now I think the camera doesn't pick up all of it, sorry about that.

I've used a white gel pen and Shimmer pen on the tail.

I made the sand bank with Kraft cardstock and used liquid glue to attach it. I thne decided to inkblend the sea as I initially made the sandbank for another card , still works.

Munted the Purrmaid with foamtape  sop it styands out, of course the white outline also works great for that.

Hello, today I have a fun new digi to show you. It's from Whimsy Stamps and the Dustin Pike Line.

Purrmaid, a cat and a mermaid as one? Yes please!

There's a number of new ones and they're all fabulous, but this one is just too funny: "blowing' bubbles.

For my card I used a circle stencil and I traced the opening  on the cardbase, then  with the Whimsy Stamps Ocean Stencil I added the seaweed, bubbles, shark, fish in Distress inks; covered them with Versamark ink and then covered them with  a clear embossing powder, just so I could keep the background flat, but also retain the color of the elements, when I fill in the circle with blue Distress inks and blueish green from Salvaged Patina.

Printed the digi, cut it out, colored with alcohol markers and mounted these elements with foamtape.

Then I added shimmer on the mermaid's tail with a shimmer pen and white dots to the eyes with a gel pen.

The sentiment is from the Hippo Fun in the Sun clear stamp set, also Whimsy Stamps .

Hello, this week I'm using the Whimsy Stamps digi set: Beach Gnomes from the Dustin Pike Collection.

There's many images in the set and I've used  the gnome with the float thing,  the little duck, I don't know the name of in English.Sorry...

I've printed the digi, cut it out and then colored it with alcohol markers, I've used a few different brands, but any work of course.

I then cut a pond like shape with the Wavy Frames dies, also Whimsy Stamps, and I thought the kraft card could be sand.

The sentiment is yet again Whimsy Stamps and the set is called: Killer Friends, it's a clear set, released earlier this year, I stamped the sentiment in black with Versafine ink.

To make my water I dragged Distress inks across a sheet of vellum, I've used a few colors like Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and a darker I think was Prize Ribbon, then splattered with water and let it dry.

Vellum can take quite a while to dry, but luckily for me it's nice and warm now, but in the meantime I traced the opening of the "pond"onto the cardbase and also put ink in the cardbase (Mermaid Lagoon), and I also splattered this with water, but only at the top.

Mounted the frame with double sided tape around the edges for my wave and, once dry, I tore the vellum sheet into "waves", placed them  on top of each other then then laid the frame on to, cut off excess bits that were hanging off the edge.Mounted the  panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

I then tucked the little Gnome  behind one of the waves, stuck him down. 

Added white gel pen to the eyes of the  Duck and shimmer  to the Hibiscus  flower on the Gnome's Hat.

AAA Cards Challenge #242: Everything Beach

 Hello,  this fortnight we're all about the Beach, in, on , under, around, doesn't matter as long as it's CAS as we like it.

For my card I used a Miezo Digi called Hai (in German and in Dutch it's Haai, which is also a hellooo! like greeting)

For my card I cut the Amy Design Under Water View (ADD10273) from Masking Paper and added 3 bubbles from the perimeter to the inside so I would get bubbles.

I applied Distress inks:
Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass, then I  tried to add water bubbles, but they were a big big, so I peeled off the mask and went over it again with what was left on my inkblending brushes.

I printed and cut out the shark and then colored it with Copic markers: pretty much all the Cool Gray a B02 and a blender marker.

I added the sentiment in Photoshop as I don't have it and I might add them later with diecut letters or alphabet Stamps, not sure yet.

Mounted the image with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

AAA Birthday Cards Challenges June: Watercolors

 

Hello, this month we're all about watercolored cards.

For mine, I stamped the Lawn Fawn Crocodile onto watercolor paper with Versafine ink and then colored him with Mijello Mission Gold watercolors.  Same for the background I made kind of a river for the Croc to swim in. I diecut the croc with the coordinating dies and added white dots to it's eyes and mounted it with foamtape for later.

The background is also watercolor paper and Mijello Mission gold watrercolors. Let it dry then splattered with Finetec Iridescent  watercolors in Teal and Blue, it's hard to see  as they all looks  like a pearl.

The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiments Strips and I als o stamped it with Versafine ink. Cut the edges, to make a mat and mounted it with foamtape adhered it to a cardbase and adhered the Crocodile on top.
