Everyday Christmas card series #19, with videos

Today I have a two part video.
One is the making and assembly of the card and the other is the middle bit where I color the wonderful reindeer from Pernilla Nilsson.

It's Paypal only I believe, but I think she's wonderful, great digistamps and they're about one dollar each (90Swedish krone).

I made the file with sentiment in a photo editing software. It doesn't come with the text, but while I was there I added it for convenience.

I think the reindeer is more a birthday reindeer with a party hat, maybe a new year's eve one too, but I gave him a Christmassy red and green party hat ;-)

Printed the file with my inkjet printer onto the Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and cut it to a cardzise. I  can fit four card fronts on one sheet, and that's what I did.
My printer is a bit weird with the printing, It's never comes out centered, so I cut it a bit more and filled the gap with a silvery glitter washi tape, much like I do with my watercolor panels.

I never used this Talens masking fluid on anything else but watercolor paper, that's what masking fluid is intended for and well it was a bit nerve wrecking, but it worked. I used my silicon nail art brushes to apply the masking fluid. I  have a video on that too, no more messed up paint brushes ;-)

The masking fluid did react a bit with the inkjet inkt, but nothing too serious. I also left a couple of "leaks" so you can see some Distress inking on Rudolph, but again nothing serious.

For the inkblending behind him I used Distress inks Mermaid Lagoon and Mowed lawn. I wanted just a halo of sky around him, but gave him terra firma to stand on ;-).
I then splattered Dylusions white linen and Distress spray stain Brushed pewter before removing the masking fluid.

I colored the reindeer in a separate video as otherwise it would have been a very long vid. I used mainly my Spectrum Illustrators but also a few Noirs as they were with in reach hehe.
The masking fluid did alter the surface a little and blending was different, but not bad at all.
After coloring I applied Nuvo shimmer pen (clear gloss) on the party hat and on his nose and then Ranger glossy accents on his nose and heart and let it dry.

Then mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered him to the cardbase.

rainbows, unicorns and glitter

Happy World cardmaking day 2017.
MFT (my Favorite Things) is holding a trio of challenges and the first one is/was rainbows.

So for my card I applied a rainbow in Talens ecoline (a fluid watercolor), a really vibrant watercolor. I wetted the watercolorpaper first, which made the colors run and blend ( a little too much) but I like it.
Let it dry and then Spritzed it with Shimmer spritz (sparkle), can you see the speckles?
I stamped the image from magical unicorns on Crafter's companion Neenah paper and colored him with Spectrum Noir markers and then cut him out with the Scan N Cut. Also spritzed him with the shimmer spritz :-D

My watercolor panels are always slightly narrower than the cardbase and although I could chop the cardbase, I prefer to fill the gap with a  fun washi tape.

I Stamped the sentiment with Versafine onyx blackink.
Mounted the rainbow panel with foam tape and adhered it to the cardbase, then mounted the unicorn with foam tape as well and mounted him on the rainbow.

Let it snow

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: a walk on the dark side showcasing Tim Holtz products.
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Christmas showcasing Penny Black.

Last week I used the Penny Black just a note as a Christmas card, this week I'm using the Penny Black  Merry Delight.

I stamped the snowman from with SSS intense black ink onto Crafter's Companion Neenah paper and colored him with Spectrum Noir markers. Then cut him out as my partial diecutting went totally wrong ;-)....sst do not tell anyone.

So instead I diecut just a circle from a

cardpanel that is slightly smaller than my cardbase.
Traced the circle on the cardbase, drew a few snowflakes, but they could be stars too with a Versamarker and then applied Wow! glow in the dark embossing powder and heat set it.

For my night sky I applied Distress inks with a mini blending tool, I've used black soot, chipped sapphire and faded jeans.
That would be my dark bit.
I stamped the sentiment from the same Penny Black set with Versafine onyx black ink and heat set it too.

Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it ont he cardbase. Don't know if you can see it, but I didn't centre the

panel,instead I tucked into the right bottom corner.
I thought that would be a little different than usual.
Also mounted some foamtape on the snowman where he overhangs the circle and taperunner on the other bit and adhered him to the card.

It was really hard to get a photo of the glow in the dark bit, but I managed a crappy one ;-)

AAA cards challenge #100: sketch Challenge, with video

This fortnight (October 1st-14th) the challenge is to make a card following a sketch.

For my card I made a stencil from card stock with circle dies. I wanted 5 gumballs in a row.
So I measured and found this size die was the best. Started in the middle, then the outer two and then the last two towards the center, It's easier to space them that way.
I used Distress inks to color the treats and the colors I used are: candied apple, mustard seed, mowed lawn, mermaid lagoon and wilted violet. To apply the ink I masked off the circles next to one and I used a finger dauber.
For the shine I used a white gel pen. 
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (it's your birthday 3x4 set) and I stamped it

with Versafine onyx black ink.

Added matching rhinestones to reinforce the gumball theme. Now if people see something different in these , like marbles, or snooker balls, or other, then that's fine too ;-)

Merry Christmas

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, is: anything goes, showcasing Stampendous products.

Only when I grabbed the supplies to write this blog I realized these weren't the Stampendous house mouse mice, but a Penny Black set called just a note..sorry, luckily it's not a requirement ;-)

I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp intense black in onto hot pressed Schut watercolor paper.
Colored them with my watercoloring markers and used some Nuvo Shimmer pen in clear gloss on the ink pot.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (presents and ornaments) and I stamped it in blue to match the ink pot (Memento

Danube blue)
Mounted the panel with foamtape and used a matching blue washi tape on the bottom behind the panel.

Snowscape

It's lucky dip week at the Less is More blog and the pick is watercolor.
For my card I first diecut the sloping hill from a panel, it's slightly shorter than our metric card size, so  I chopped the cardbase as well. I then Stamped the sentiment with Versafine onyx black ink and set it aside to dry.

For the sky I used Talens ecoline, a fluid watercolor in all sorts of blue tones and a few layers, heat setting in between. I then splattered Ranger distress spray brushed Pewter and Dylusions spray white linen, also heat setting in between. I also wanted to splatter the white ecoline as it's more opaque, but I can't get the jar open this morning, just yet (reuma is not fun)...
Stuck the watercolor strip down with double sided (carpet) adhesive as I couldn't find the Elizabeth Crafts one and I stumbled upon this one haha...It's super tacky and well I don't really like it, but it works for these thing very well, just don't try to reposition anything ;-)

I mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered in on top.
I thought about adding some enamel dots, but I didn't like them at all, weirdly or randomly positioned around the sentiment...made no sense lol I think it's too early in the morning and I'm still cranky haha
