I made two cards as I didn;t like the first, then made the second, made me like the first one again...ah choices, choices, well you decide.
For the first card I made a stencil with a Sizzix/Tm Holtz die and inked Distress inks Festive berries through it.
The I mixed some Ranger texture paste transparent glossy with some white fine glitter dust, and spread that over the stencil too.
I stamped the stag from Hero arts (deer 4x6) with Versafine, about three times to get the solid and dark image (was a new stamp).
So I when I finished I thought it wasn't as CAS as it could be, or should be...so I decided to just stamp the deer and turn him into Rudolph (a reindeer) ah well.
I blacked out the white around it's nose and added a red rhinestone and googly eyes.
I then thought it was too bare ;-) and added diamond washi tape, I like red and purple together. Also wondered if the red rhinestone would be diamondy enough...
So i decided my first one was actually rather cool haha....women!

You did make me laugh with that description of your thought processes... I think all crafters have been there! Love both of the cards. The diamonds add a really stylish touch. Both cards make me think of Christmas in Scotland, perhaps because of the stag (fab stamp by the way). Very festive and nicely designed! Thanks for sharing with us at Less is More :)
ReplyDeleteGreat cards - my preference is the top one with the red diamonds. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your red diamonds...terrific take on the challenge. Thanks for sharing at Less is More!
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning Maaike! Love both of these but the red just tops it for me! Wonderful ideas and such fun designs. Thanks for playing along with us at Less is More this week. Sarah
ReplyDeleteI love how it's not just me that does this. Don't like a card so make another then end up back with the first one again! lol
ReplyDeleteI love your first card, the added paste and glitter over your stencilling is so effective and the stag stamp is really classy for Christmas.
Thanks for sharing with us.
