I printed this one gnome of many in the set and added Naughty or Nice to the scroll so it looks ;like Santa's list, colored him with Copic Markers and cut him out.

For the background I've used Distress inks in greyish blue colors and whatever was on the ink blending tool. It's a stencil from Studio Light Essentials (SL-ES-Mask36)

Splattered the scene with white acrylic paint for snow.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things (Bitty Holiday Whishes) and I stamped it with Versafine.

Mounted the gnome with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

Swim time mouse

Another digi from the Meijens collection from Whimsy stamps digis: Swim Time Mouse.

I printed it on watercolor paper with my laser printer and colored the image with Talens ecoline and had the Scan n cut cut him out, in the process some of the swirly bits you'll see on the original file, but that's OK with me, especially for the card I made.

I sprayed a fixative on it and one the "sea"I made by inking up a few bits of vellum and then tore it into strips for waves, I also splattered the waves with water for bubbles and some mice ink for a glorious shimmer, you might or might not be able to see on camera

Cut a mat from cardstock, stamped the sentiment from a Whimsy  Stamps clear set (Hippo Beach fun)m let it dry, didn't take that long in this heat wave ha!

Wrapped the strips of vellum around the panel and adhered them on the back, then tucked in the mouse and a few fishes, there's 3 in the set Scuba bear, also from the July release, I just printed a few more and had some left over from last week. I tried to keep the colors to a minimum, so they all share the same colors with the  mouse image.

Mounted the panel with foam tape and adhered it to a card base.

Scuba diving bear

Hi, this week I'm using a digi from  Whimsy Stamps' the Meijens Digital Collection Scuba bear.
I made it into a shaker with a round window, like a porthole but still Clean And Simple.

I started by printing the image on watercolor paper that still fits y laser printer, then painted it with Talens Liquid watercolors.m Had the scan n Cut do the cutting, it chopped off the swirly bits, but I prefer it like this anyway as you wouldn't see much of the sea behind him otherwise.

I cut a "porthole" from a card panel and traced the opening onto another panel.

This so I know where to apply Distress inks and use this panel as a lid for my shaker.

I've used Distress inks: Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Uncharted Mariner and splattered water for bubbles.

For the sentiment i've used the Whimsy Simple Sentiment strips (clear stamps) and Versafine ink to stamp it.

To build up the shakercard I added a sheet of acetate for the window with taperunner and the shaker portion with two layers of foamtape around the porthole.

The bear I mounted with one layer of the same foamtape so the fishes and confetti could move behind the bear, some got squished between the bear and window, but I'm hopefull that, once the static diminishes, they'll start to move.

You can find the digi in the Whimsy store here.

AAA Cards Challenge #220 Along the Edge + Under the Sea

This fortnight we're playing along the edge+ the optional twist of "under the sea", under, in , on: everything goes as long as it's along one edge.

For my card I stamped the Octopi Guys from Whimsy Stamps, coloured him with Copics and cut him out. I left a kind of tab on the side, so when I stick him under the panel I don't lose any of the image and I have something to stick down.

I then measured, masked and ink blended the left edge with Distress inks : Broken China, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. Splattered with water.

Then I stamped the fishes  and algae from Marianne Design (EC0190) with Versafine ink, same with the sentiment. Diecut the fishes (Joy Crafts 6002/1457) from orange card and the algae with green card.

Measured the width for my panel, cut it to size, stamped the sentiment from Octopi Guys with Versafine ink. Glued the octopus on the back, mounted the panel with foam tape and adhered it to the cardbase.

Naughty

There's a new challenge over at Less is More: Traditional Christmas.

So I thought I could use this Digi from Last Minute Manda : Gnorman Naughty or Nice.

I added the sentiment whilst I was prepping the image on the PC.

Printed it on watercolor paper with my laser printer and then colored it with Talens Ecoline, that's a liquid watercolor medium. I added blue, I think it needed it and brown is  very Christmas Trunk to me, or cinnamon bark, you know it goes in my head.

Added the panel to the cardbase with taperuner.

You can find the digi (Set of three images) here: https://www.etsy.com/nl/listing/1210657894/gnorman-ondeugende-of-mooie-digitale?click_key=7c1dde7fdabdb91d3fdb943d6b9669126c8506e2%3A1210657894&click_sum=27352106&ga_search_query=naughty&ref=shop_items_search_2&sts=1

Whimsy Stamps Playful Dragon

Hi, this week I've used the Whimsy Stamps Playful dragon digi, together with one of the rats from Say Cheese a clear set.

To me it looks like the Dragon is looking at something, so I made a scene where the Dragon and Rat are pointing towards each other, or maybe High Five-ing.

I printed the digi and sentiment on Copic Safe paper and the rat on a separate piece and cut him out. Colored both images with Alcohol markers, cut it smaller so I could mount in on a cardbase with a nice border. Stuck the rat in position. Slathered the Dragon with Nuvo Shimmer pen.

You can find the Play ful Dragon here, or https://whimsystamps.com/products/playful-dragon-digital-stamp?_pos=1&_sid=151351969&_ss=r

Christmas cards 2022 Christmas in July Diy glitterpaper and Marianne D...

Life's a picnic

This week I've used the cutest little cat digistamp from Whimsy: Purr-fect Picnic

I printed it on watercolor paper that will go through my laserprinter. Then I colored  the image and scene with Zig Clean Color real brush markers. The sentiment I added when I was prepping the image, Didn't know what else to use. Those kittens are having the time of their lives.

Sprayed it with fixative and then mounted the panel with foamtape, adhered it to the cardbase.

The panel is 1 cm smaller than the cardbase so it makes a nice border/frame

Find the digi here: https://whimsystamps.com/products/purr-fect-picnic-cats-digital-stamp?_pos=3&_sid=74d90d789&_ss=r

AAA Birthday Challenges #39: Where in the World

This month we'd like you to make a Birthday Card representing where you're from.

I am from the Netherlands via Germany and Italy. I was Born in Scheveningen, now part of the Hague, but lived in Amsterdam and my canal houses are typical Dutch Canal or merchant houses. In Delft we have canals too, a few old and grand houses but nothing like Amsterdam where all the money went. For those paying attention our flag is red white and blue ;-)

Anyway I live in the suburbs on a waterway, a creek not a canal or the like, but fabulous open views.

For my card I masked off the lower bit and inkblended Tumbled glass

and  Salty Ocean and then decided to add some Picked Raspberry on the lower part of the Salty Ocean and that turned a nice shade of purple.I felt it needed more contrast.

Stamped the sentiment from Clearly Besotted (Laugh our loud) with Versafine ink.

Diecut the houses from Nellie Snellen (SD183) three times and stacked them on top with liquid glue, then adhered it to the card. One would have been fine, but I messed up the first one, so decided to cut it again and then stack them why not? added a third layer to really add dimension.

Oh my Gostrich

There's a new challenge over at Less is More: Emboss.

I've chosen Dry Embossing with a strip I have in my stash, I got it at Action, but I can't remember the brand, came with stamps. I embossed it into a panel and stuck the panel to the cardbase.

I then reached for my stash of colored images (actually had a white baby romper but it was too white on white) so I found the My Favorite Things Oh my Gostrich and I had mama and baby ( I think) left and so I could still use the sentiment. I printed that with my laser

printer for another project too.

I think it turned out great and I've used up some stash ;-)
