AAA Birthday Cards Challenge #89

Hello, this month we want you to use patterned paper.

I only have cardstock I use for my gift boxes, so I rummaged through my pile and found this pretty polka dot like paper (Craft Sensation Christmas pack), I cut one card panel and the letters from the dotted paper, then from a solid cardtock I cut the shadow layer, I went for a slightly darker tone, I had one matching the pink dots, but I thought it needed the darker to contrast.

It's from My Favorite Things (Birthday Vibes dienamics) and I like how it looks like I cut the latters from the shadow layer  and the cardbase is shining through. I had added double sised tape on the back of the latters so adhering them to the shadow layer is as easy as sticking stickers down,

Mounted the shadow layer with foamtape.

AAA Card Challenge #322: 70's and 80's (disco Inferno)

Hello, this fortnight we have a fun one for you (I think so anyway) I grew up in the 70's and 80's and the music back then was the best in my opinion, Disco, glitter rock and the like.

the resurrection of vinyl records, music tapes and such also made their way into the craft world. I  did buy the music cassette from Marianne Design, probably should have gotten the record ha, there's glitter balls from orther brands and well you can use whatever you want, 70's also known for Peace signs, rainbows, tie die, flowerpower, disco for neon colors, cool movies and food or treats, cars...

For my card I printed the silhouttes from the game badge but Whimsy Stamps have  similar ones as dies, I don't have them though.

These are from a royalty free image bank (PNG Wing)

I printed them and cut them out with the Scan n Cut.

For the background I masked off ans area and applied Distress inks rainbow colors : Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon, Twisted Citron.Mustard Seed.

And then Splattered Lawn Fawn's Liquid Stardust on top, I love how it shines when the light hits it.

Sentiment is from My Favorite Things ( Bitty Birthday Wishes) and I stampe dit with Versafine ink.

AAA Cards Challenge #321: 1+1

Hello, this fortnight we play the 1+1 again, I went for Farm+ animals... with my goat clearly.

The goat (Col1570), the fence (CR1648), the grass (LR0524) and the flowers (LR0891) are all Marianne Design, cut from various colors of cardstock and then assembled them.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things (Bitty Birthday Wishes) and I stamped it with Versafine ink.

AAA Colourful Challenge #31

 

Hello it is Summer and all that blue makes me think of water, but different kind of water, not sea, not pool, but a pond with Koi.

For my card I used Distress inks: Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, Salvaged Patina and I applied these colours through circle stencils I made. I think the colours match quite well and look like water and water droplets.

On top I stamped one of the layers of the Hero Arts layering Koi (oldie not sure if it's still available but there might be others)

Verjaardag means Birthday and it's from Studio Light NL Gefeliciteerd.

AAA Card Challenge #320: S is for...

I've been putting all the S things I could come up with into this blog, so I could make a decision and not forget the options that sprung to mind, they might be useful to you too, so look at the end of the blog to see them and there might be more you can think of..

I came up with S for Snowdrops with this delightful image from Stamping Bella: Bundle Girl with Snowdrops.

I had a copy already stamped and cut out, I did make the border bigger than usual to make sure the little snowdrop on the had wouldn't bend or break.

I colored the image with Ohuhu markers and mounted it with foamtape.

To  ground the image I masked off a portion of the cardbase and applied Distress inks Twisted Citron, just enough to make the image pop, I alsosplattered it with water cos it's Distress inks and it's mandatory ;-)

The sentiment is My Favorite Things Bitty Birthday Wishes and I stamped it with Versafine ink.

AAA Birthday Card Challenge #88

Hello, this month we're all about flowers.

For my card I diecut a bunch or colours from Mintopia cardstock with the Marianne Design LR0891.

I used the Clearly Besotted set Brushed Greetings II and at first I did  use the Happy Birthday, but it was too long for my idea and I figured Best Wishes also works.

I placed the flowers around the sentiment some with foamtape, pretty simple, but that's my CAS style for you.

AAA Cards Challenge #319: Color Challenge

Hello this fortnight we play with color a nice vibrant and candy like colors.

I first thought I would diecut the flip flops from colored cardstock as per the challenge. but I deemed them too big for our CAS challenge because I wanted three on the card front.

Instead I opted to make a sunset with the colors inside a circle, then, like you see a lot, black flip flops as they're backlighted, but then I found them too dark for a Summer card, I added some yellow on the strips to brighten that up and a black gemstone.

The Sunset was made with 2 circle masks and Distress inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Kitsch

Flamingo, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry. I kind of like this for a beach sunset with a black palm tree, with the flip flops not so much.

The Happy Birthday is from Whimsy Stamps: Simple Sentiment Strips.

The flipflops are Marianne Design: LR0477.

For my second card I made a beach with Distress ink Scattered Straw and  wanted to make it look like the Flip Flops were stuck in the sand. These were the ones I made for my first idea. I was tempted to add some blue for the Sea, but that's not included in the challenge colors.

AAA Colourful #30

 Hello , this month we have a pretty colourboard for you, on the game badge I see a sunset or a sun rise, not sure, I went South West USA for my card.

I thought the beige and blue could be a desert scene and I got the ide of this colour combo from a search on the internet.

I don't have the exact same colours so my middle layer is a bit darker than I wanted it to be (Scorched Tiber) the others are Scattered Straw, Mustard seed, Brushed Corduroy , Prize Ribbon and faded Jeans. in the back of the game  badge photo there's a darker layer too.

I inkblended the top layer on the cardbase and with some clever masking I made an almost flat card, but I didn't like it, so i applied ink to 4 seperate panels and then diecut them (Craftin Desert Divas South West Border dies)

Adhered all the layers to the cardbase.

AAA Cards Challenge #318 Follow Marlies' lead

 Hello, this fortnight we follow Marlies' card. I see some interest on the right with jelly beans and a sentiment below it.

My sentiment placement was  kinda forced with the placement of the flowers.

My interest on the right side I made with a Lisa Horton 3d Embossing folder ( Lily of the valley blooms)

Then I die cut the Marianne design Lily of the Valley (LR0896) and I purposely used a off white cardstock as I thought they wouldn't stand out, could probably have inkblended them a little like I did with the green bits..didn't think  of it until just now ...oh well ...

The sentiement is from Simon Says Stamp (It's your birthday) and I stamped it with Memento inks (Cottage Ivy).

Hello this month we'd like to see birthday cards for Girls.

For my card I used a My Favorite Things stamp  Fairy Happy, stamped it, let the Scan n Cut do the cutting and colored her with  alcohol markers, both Graphit Brush and Spectrum Noir.

The sentiment is from the same set and I stampe dit on the card base.

for the focal point I inkblended Distress inks through a circle mask and the Tropical Leaves mask from Studio light.

Mounted the fairy with foamtape and adhered her to the card.

Hello, this fortnight we have a sketch for you. As  the 4th of July is almost here, I made a sketch with  some sort of Fireworks on a night sky. Now the colors and shapes are up to you, so could be anything.

I chose fireworks but as a New Year's card as we don't do the 4th of July celebrations in the Netherlands.

For my card I use a stencil from Stamperia (Stars) and colored it with Distress inks.

The sentiment is  My Favorite Things Bitty Holiday Wishes, messed it up so I made another , cut it out and placed it over the faulty one ;-)

AAA Colourful Challenge #29

 Hello, this month we have some pretty colours, but it took me a minute to figure out how to use them.

I came across an image of a bird and it seemed to have the perfect colours a Lilac Throated Roller.

for my bird I used a dieset from Nellie Snellen  (crs d022 bird on branch) it comes with a circluar frame, but I ended up cutting that off, it's as wide as my card front. I diecut it from watercolirng paper and applies Distress inks.

It's not the same bird, but I tried to  make it look like the Roller; I'v eused: Shaded Lilac, Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry to make th eshade fit better, lille bit of Wilted Violet in there too. Then Speckled Egg, Prize Ribbon and Peacock  feathers, Vintage photo for my neutral.

Mounted ienie tinie tiny bits of foamt behine the bird. while I was coloring the diecut I also splattered the same colours on the cardbase.

No sentiment as I don't know if it is stil Christmas or not.

AAA cards Challenge #316

 

Hello this fortnight we have the 1+1 challenge again, centre prompt is Summer and I chose Beach for my +1.

For my card I stamped the crabs from Paperie Ink  (Crabby Feelings) , cut them out the colored them with Graphit Brush Markers, boy am I grateful for the fineliner tip ;-). White gel pen for shiny details.

The background I made by masking off a strip and I created the beach with Distress inks Scattered Straw, then  reverded the mask and inkblended the sea with Tumbled Glass at first, but it looked  dirty, so I went over it with Memento inks Bahama Blue. Splattered with water so it looks like sea spray.

For my card I stamped a lot of Paperie Ink sets with the alligators, there's one in every set or so it seems, I've used Let's party, Let's eat and Animal Parade/ Stamped them and let the Scan n Cut cut them out and then colored them with alcohol markers.

The sentiment is from Studio Light (NL Gefeliciteerd)

I made the background with Distress inks: Speckled Egg and Weathered Wood.

Mounted the images with foamtape and adhered them on  top.

AAA Cards Challenge #315: Sketch Challenge

Hello, this fortnight we have a sketch for you. As it's May I thought let's make a Christmas card hehe...Ok Ok I wanted to do flowers but I thought let's steer away from the literal sketch (for once), of course it's up to you.

I've used the My Favorite Things Simply Snowflakes with Nellie Snellen Snowflakes (Sil039) and a bunch of Card Deco inks : Light Blue, Sky Blue, Ultramarine and Grey for the dots.

The sentiment is also My Favorite Things: Bitty Holiday Wishes  and I used the Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment Strips to cut it out, then moutned it with foamtape and adhered it to the card.

For a bit of sparkle I added three mini gemstones to the centre of the snowflakes, like frosted ice crystals.

AAA Colourful Challenge #28

 

Hello this months we have a fun colourboard for you. I immediately saw space in it or galaxy if you prefer. I even found the perfect 12x12 cardstock from Craft Sensations in my stash, had to use it.

My rocket is from Crafter's Companion (Space traveler) and I diecut it from matching colours of cardstock

Mounted the rocket with foamtape. Not sure about a sentiment yet and it would need to go on the inside ;-)

 Hello, this fortnight we celebrate our 12th birthday with...CAKE!

So we'd like to see your cards feature a pastry of sorts, cake, pie, danish if you want..Baked goods galore.

BUT make them Clean adn Simple please.

For my card I printed a digistamp from Lili of the Valley (Cupcake Monkey) , added the sentiment in Photoshop and  colored it with Ohuhu markers.

Matted the print a little as  my printed likes to skwe the paper.

AAA birthday Cards Challenge #85

 

Hello, this is our Birthday month, can you believe it ? we are 7! So this month any birthday card goes.

For my card I stamped one of the raccoons from  C.C. Designs set with the same name (Raccoons) and had it cut out by the Scan N Cut, then colored it with Graphit Brush markers.

I masked off an area on the card base and applied Distress inks ( Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio with whatever was left on the blending brushes as I feel the Mermaid lagoon is a little darker than normal, but still pretty. I wanted to try to bleach the background with a damp towel and a stencil from scrapberry. it did work a bit,  but it's very faint, didn't

want to risk a  cloth that was wetter as my DCP paper doesn't really like water all that much.

Stamped the sentiment from the same set and then mounted the raccoon with with foamtape and adhered him to the card.

AAA Card Challenge #313: Color Challenge

 Hello, this fortnight we have a color challenge for you, use at least 3 of the colors on the badge, white, black, fur/hair color and silver and gold are allowed as accents.

For my background I inkblended Distress inks: Saltwater Taffy, Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Rapberry and One Memento ink Lulu Lavender as I thought that's more on the red side than Shaded Lilac from Distress inks.

The colors don't have to be an exact match but as close as you can get them. I used the same pink inkblending tool, so I think the Flamingo and Raspberry kinda evened out.

I also used the Lulu Lavender for the sentiment which is Sunny Studio's Birthday Mouse, as is the image of the mouse.

I stamped it with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and colored it with Graphit Brush markers, cut it out with the Scan n Cut, mounted it with foamtape and adhered it to the card.

AAA Colourful Challenge #27

 Hello this month I kinda took the colourbadge literally, well as literal as I could. I used a kakatoo I think instead of a Macaw bird, didn't have that.

My dies are from Spellbinders (Flying High) and cut it from coloured cardstock. Now in the badge you can see a bit of dark blue and even yellow and some purple dark red, but in the colour bar a red, 2 pinks , blue and green. 

I used 2 shades of pink that looks more salmon like on the photo and I used brown and black as neutrals for the beak and twig p.e. I don't have all the shades of cardstock I would like.

For the background I've used a Studio Light  mask  (Tropical leaves), the sentiment is also

Studio Light (NL Gefeliciteerd).
