AAA Birthday Challenge #42: Favourite Technique

This month at AAA Birthday Challenge we are all about our Favourite Techniques,  or yours of course.

Mine is bi fold: inkblending and Stamp Coloring, so I 've used both :-D

I've started my card by masking off the lower part of the card, then I've applies Distress inks with a blending tool. at first I wanted to go for the rainbow, then I thought it might be cool as a Northern lights of sorts, so I splattered with water, white acrylic paint and Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust.

For my rainbow I've used: Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron. Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry, then arond the edges I've used Chipped Sapphire and Black soot.

For the snowman I've used a set from Marianne Design (EC0184) and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment Strips, I first stamped it on the cardbase, but then smudged it, so I covered it up with a little banner

AAA Cards Challenge #225: 1-9th + Gnomes

This Fortnight we're playing the 1-9th game again with the optional twist to use Gnomes.

This twist was chosen by Ceal.

For my card I used the Stampendous  Holiday Gnomes. I had a few still stamped  and cut out, this one fit best in the one of nine rectangles. I went to color it with my Copics and I realized I stamped it on watercolor paper, oh well I pressed on, it's not ideal, but I made it work.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas and I stamped it

with Versafine ink.

Mounted the Gnome with foamtape and adhered it on the card.

What's your poison?

Hello, this week I'm Using the Potion Bottles digi set for my card.

I prepped the images in Photoshop, printed them on Copic Safe paper and colored it with Copic Markers. I tried to use the same colors on all bottles for a coherent look.

I cut a full A4 sheet of cardstock to 21 cm and folded it in half to make ti a slimline cardbase. Masked off the top and bottom and applied Black soot and Hickory Smoke Distress inks. Splattered with water and metallic watercolors. kind of looks like the night sky now i my opinion.

Made the sentiments on the pc too and  printed them, then cut them out, mounted them with foam tape. I also mounted some bottles with foamtape and adhered them to the cardbase in as random fashion.

I took inspiration from one liners I hear in movies sometimes, like it's 5 o'Clock somewhere or a bartender asking "what's your poison"when asking a  customer what they'd like. I thought that went well with potion bottles, who knows what's in there ;-)

Trick or Treat

The new Dustin Pike Digis (monsters series from the September 2022 release) are just so cute.

This one's called: Monster Surprise and I;ve combined it with a sentment from a Whimsy Stamps Clear set called Spooky Kitties.

I printed the digi on Coipic Safe paper, had the Scan N Cut do the fussy cutting and Colored it with Copic Markers, mounted it with foamtape.

The sentiment is from a Whimsy Stamps Clear set, (Spooky Kitties, also Dustin Pike) and the background is Distress inks on the cardbase (Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet and Mustard Seed and a handmade mask in the shape of a blob).

Adhered the Monster on top, Stamped the sentiment, just so it looks like he's shining his/her flashlight on it

Dudley with Pumpkin

Hi, today I made a card with the Whimsy Stamps digi: Dudley with Pumpkin.

At first I thought I would make him into a Fall/Harvest card, but now it's up in the air I think...

The sentiment is from a clear set: Spooky Kitties and I thought it went well.

Prepped  the digi on the PC, printed it, cut it out and colored it. Went with reds, just for a fun change and mounted the image with foam tape.

On the cardbase I applied a round mask and through I I applied Distress inks: Speckled egg and Hickory Smoke  to ground my image.

Always Watching

The new Dustin Pike Digis (monsters series from the September 2022 release) are just so cute.

Even a Vulture  is just adorable as a rendition from  Dustin Pike.

I printed the digi on Coipic Safe paper, had the Scan N Cut do the fussy cutting and Colored it with Copic Markers, mounted it with foamtape.

The sentiment is from a Whimsy Stamps Clear set, (Spooky Kitties, also Dustin Pike) and the background is Distress inks on the cardbase (Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocan, Villainous Poison).

Adhered the Vulture on top, thought the sentiment with well as the bird is looking kinda funny at the pumpkin....or am I seeing things ;-) But there's a sentiment included in the digi set, and you can pick either or none if you prefer.

AAA Cards Challenge #224 Colour Scheme + Dots or Spots

This fortnight we have a colour scheme, meaning use what you see in the badge, for me that was the minty background, pink gloves and yellow spray bottle, quite challenging too, this is my third card attempt, I trashed the first two.

The optional twist of Dots and or spots was chosen by Neil.

For my card I stamped the butterflies and sentiment from Technique Tuesday (Butterflies silhouettes) with Distress inks : Cracked pistachio, Mustard seeds and Picked Raspberry. the spots are from Nellie Snellen (txcs007).

For more information or to play along the AAA Cards Challenge, see this.

I made the butterfly card a  long time ago, but as time passed I started disliking it more and more, not sure why as it's a great card, but I thought about it for a while and came up with another couple of ideas:

One with the Katzelkraft's Les Monstres des Carpates (Carpathian Monsters) But I saw bugs. I made a similar card before but I stamped the monsters with Versafine ink, masked them where needed, then dried it with the heat gun and stamped the dots from and Sentiment from Happy Little Stampers (Mix Mash) with the colors from the Challenge.

My third card used the Nellie Snellen Textures stamp (TXCS011) I stamped it repeadly across the cardbase on the side masked to get a straightline.
I've used the same dots  and Sentiment from Happy Little Stampers (Mix Mash) with the colors from the Challenge.
