There's cake right?

 Hello, today I'm using the Monster Birthday Digi from Whinsy Stamps and from the Krista Heij Barber  line.

I printed the digi and colored it with alcohol marker, matted the panel and stuck in on the cardbase.

I omitted the sentiment from the set, it's fun with the half eaten sentiment, which gave me the idea to use these sentiments, also Whimsy Stamps (a clear set called Simple Sentiment Strips)

Added Glossy accents to the eye ball for some extra shine.

I wanted to have a fun and bright colored monster and felt anything added would  take away from the blue monster, my wink at the well known cookie monster.

 There's a new challenge on the Less is More blog: Orange!

My card took longer in my head, deciding what to do, orange leaves for fall? pumpkin, Halloween?

I went with this really old foamstamp and two colors of orange for a gradient on the pumpkin.

The sentiment is also two tones or orange and it's from Whimsy Stamps Spooky Kitties set.

I thought about using a new silhouette cat stamp on top, but it's not a Halloween cat, so I left it out.

Then I thought, what if I mask it with heat embossing and inkblend black  as it's Halloween, but I felt that might not we considered white/empty space, especially if the inkblending is a bit splotchy.

So ultra Clean and Simple.

Teen Witch

 

Hello, today I'm showing you the Whimsy Stamps Digi Teen Witch from the Krista Heij Barber Line.

I printed it, then cut it out to the best of my abilities, frankly I'm too blind to do fine small cutting haha, but I did want the white rim to make the bats and moon pop from the background. I colored the image mostly with Graph it Brush markers as they have a fineliner nib (0.5mm) to get into the tight corners.

At first I made a different background, but I didn't like it, so I pull out the Whimsy Stamps Slimline Designer paper: Lost in Space for my starry background.

I then stamped the sentiment from yet more Whimsy Stamps: Spooky Kitties.

Adhered the background with tape runner and mounted the image with foamtape.

AAA Card Challenges: #247 Sketch for a teen card

 

Hello, this fortnight we've got a sketch for you, specifically one aimed at teens, boys or girls, doesn't matter, 

I've used a Snowboarder from Marianne design stamps(HT1668) stamped it, cut it out with the coordinating dies and then colored it with Copic markers. White gelpen for some shiny details.

For the colors behind the snowboarder I've also used Marianne design (EC0162Eline's brushes) with Memento inks. Only in blue tones as I felt that looked like snow, maybe waves even if it were a surfer.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things (Bitty Birthday Wishes) and I stamped in  the same blue Memento ink, I think was Bahama Blue.

Mounted the Snowboarder with Foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

As usual you have to weeks to enter you card here.

Aww you shouldn't have

 Hello, today I'm sharing my card for the Dudley Eyeball digi from Whimsy Stamps and the Dustin Pike Line.

I've prepped the digi and sentiment on the pc and later I've removed the "you can keep this treat"as I thought that's not funny, changed it in Photoshop once I finished the card into a few kind of sentiments like, Aww you shouldn't have, of For me? you shouldn't have, no really you...you know what people say when they get a gift or , say, a bunch of flowers..Looked weird so I opted for this sentiment. something like: Erhmmm I'm allergic to eyeballs could be fun, or Can I still choose Trick? Anything goes at Halloween!

Otherwise it's a simple process: colored with Copics, gave him green cheeks as if he's feeling sick..I hope that comes across and I've added Glossy accents on the eyeball and slime, which , if colored red, might look more spooky and blue for  the wet eyeball, thought green, with a splash of glitterpen was best.

Hello Pumpkin

 Hello, today I'm using the new digi set again: Gargoyle and friends from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike.

I'm using the Gargoyle sitting on a pumpkin, which inspired the sentiment from another Whimsy Stamps set (clear set Spooky Kitties).

For the background I've inkblended Distress inks through a mask: Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon and Crackling Campfire.

The image I've printed , cut out and colored with alcohol markers, white gel pen on the eyes, then I've mounted the image with foamtape to make it stand proud of the background.

Superstitions

 

Hello, today I'm showing you the Whimsy Stamps Digi from the Dustin Pike line, Dudley Stitions.

My black cat Charlie, of course, is not bad luck, just a tiny bit evil ;-), but I don't believe in superstitions.

Anyway, for my card I've ordered the Whimsy Stamps EEK dieset, but I haven't received it yet and now I wonder if it needs it.

I will stick it on and take a second picture.

The background was made by diecutting a circle from masking paper  and masking the bottom of the card, I thought it could be a roof top, street, anything straight frankly, it's just to ground the scene.

After masking, I applied Distress inks Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch, then splattered with water and white acrylic paint for my stars.

Let is dry, then removed the circle mask and added the negative shape, so I could add color to the moon. I've just used what ever was left on my yellow and orange blending brushes,.

Colored the digi stamps with alcohol markers and mounted them with foamtape.
