AAA Cards Challenges #184 Sketch + Watercolour, with video

This Fortnight the AAA Cards Challenge sis a sketch with the option to use watercolours.

It's  Michelle's Choice this time.

For my card I went with Talens Ecoline a liquid watercolour and of course you could use the Acryllic block ink smooshing, that might be a real quick card. I didn't, also changed my mind three times while watercolouring, see the video for the progress.

After watercolouring I heat set it and removed the tape, damaging the paper a little, I left it,it's very faint. I stamped the Tree with Versafine ink and the animals from the same Marianne Design set (EC0182) on another piece of watercolour paper. I decided to use the lion as I have a nice punny sentiment to go with it, it's from Simon Says Stamp and is called Punny Animals.

I used Ecoline as well on the lion and then used the dies included to cut him out. Mounted him with foamtape.

To adhere the watercolour panel I've used tape runner and stuck it to a cardbase, then mounted the lion on top.

One Layer Birthday Card

The Less is More Challenge this time is: ONE layer card and flower.

And as I've used inkblending, I shall also enter it into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Favorite Technique, and inkblending is right there at the top.

For my card I masked off a rectangle on the cardbase. I then applied DIstress inks with finger daubers. All the usual supsects, but Kitsch Flamingo instead of Picked Raspberry, but also, Carved pumpkin, Squeezed lemonade, Cracked pistachio, Tumbled glass, Wilted violet.

The splattered with water, dried it with my heattool.

The Daffodils are from Nellie Snellen (Nellie's Choic Sil064) and the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps (Simple sentiment strips) and I stamped both with Versafine ink, then heat set it again.

For a playful feel I did stamp the daffs peeking out on ine side, it would have fit, but I like it this way more.

Ceate a Smile Challenge: Moodboard- Magnolia

This Fortnight the Create a Smile challenge is a moodboard.

I see pinks, corals and teals, watercolor and flowers.

So I 've used the Create a Smile Magnolia stampset and stamped it onto Cold press watercolor and colored it with Talens Ecoline.

I wanted it more salmon pink, but this is what I mixed and I liked it.

The Birthday is diecut from the same teal as the background, the Happy was made with my label printer.

I've splattered the panel with brass watercolor for shine.

Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

There's Cake Right?

Preferribly Chocolate cake ;-)

The Less is More Challenge is Chocolate, and the card should focus on that with one accent colour. For my accent  I chose a bright green, like it's a minty or pistachio swirl as they do on bonbons.

Although the sentiment says cake, I think they're bonbons, but  cake size compared to the Candy Mouse from Whimsy Stamps.

I stamped the image with My Favorite Things Extreme Black ink and coloured the image with all sorts of brown tones, even the mouse. To anchor the image I applied a little bit of twisted citron on the cardbase, it echoes the green in the image, ties it all together in my

opinion.

Mounted the image with foamtape and adhered it to the card.

Christmas Craft Creations, February Theme: Blue and Silver, with video

This month the Christmas Craft Creations is all about Blue and Silver.

I made a shaker card with blue shimmery cardstock and silver embossing powder and glitter.

For the shaker portion I diecut the Altenew Ampersand from the blue card and then Stamped "merry" and "bright" with  Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Wow metallic silver regular embossing powder.

Adhered a piece of acetate to cover the back of the front panel, built up the shaker part with a single layer of foamtape. then filled the shaker bit with silver glitter and confetti from Stampendous (silver holo glitter) and Wow
sparkles.closed the shaker part with another blue panel and then adhered it all to a cardbase.

AAA Cards Challenges 2021- #183 One Corner + Create a scene, with video

This fortnight the challenge is One corner and the optional twist  to create a scene was chosen by Joy.

For my card I used the Unicorns from Marianne design (EC0180), the sentiment is also from Marianne Design ( CS0987), My rainbow die and cloud is from Love 2 Craft (2573199).

I started by diecutting the rainbow from scraps of coloured card, but I couldn't fit them back together,so instead I diecut it from white and coloured the strips with markers, less waste and easier. I stamped the unicorn with Gina K amalgam ink and coloured it the same colours as the rainbow strips, with  grey and brown from Copic.

I placed the rainbow back  in the  bottom left corner with liquid glue and  stamped  the sentiment next to it with Versafine ink. Mounted the unicorn with foam tape and placed him infront of the rainbow, then glued a cloud in front to complete my scene.

Chocolate is the answer

The Less is More Challenge blog turned 10! Woot congratulations and celebrations, hope for many more years of fabulous challenges.

This time the theme is: Chocolate.

For my Card I used the stamp and dies part of the Marianne Design Collectables Col1366.

I cut and embossed the bonbons in different colours of chocolate. It took me a while to find the right combo, I tried different browns, tried embossing en goldflaking, tried coloured nuts it all didn't make sense ;-) So I ended up with this trio.

At first I thought to cut off the lower bit of the

sentiment and only leave "chocolate is the answer"

I stamped it with Versamark ink and then embossed with Wow  Gold and Copper for am ombre ewffect and a nod to different kinds of chocolate.

I'm a dark chocolate kinda person in case you were wondering ;-) Yesterday was World Nutella Day and this challenge seems fitting.

Grumpy Cat

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Love and or Hearts.

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is:  Love is in the air, showcasing Simon Says Stamp Exclusives.

For my card I've used the Simon Says Stamp Heart of Flowers die and I cut it from a cardpanel.

Underneath I stamped the sentiment, it's from Impression Obsession  (D14748) and I've used Versafine ink for that.

The cat is from Katzelkraft a new to SSS brand, but fabulous. I stamped him with Gina K ink and colored it with  my markers.

I traced the open area of the Heart of flowers onto the cardbase and inkblended Distress inks in an ombre fashion ( Picked Raspberry, Candied apple and Dusty Concord).

Adhered the panel to the cardbase, mounted the cat with foamtape and placed him on top.

Create a Smile Challenge sketch

This fortnight the challenge over at the Create a Smile Challenge blog is a Sketch.

For my card I've used the Dress me up bear and for the sentiment the Big Surprise set.

I've stamped the images onto Copic safe paper with Gina K Amalgam ink and coloured them with alcohol markers. Cut them out.

Cut out three rectangles and inkblended Distress inks onto the rectangles. Mowed lawn, Cracked Pistacio, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet, Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon. The ombre is subtle, but makes the background less flat.

Now first I wanted to be all posh with magnets and such, but I had troubles with it and kept

messing up, so I started again with glue dots. To make sure the glue dots don't rip my images I've adhered a bit of Scotch take onto the surfaces, you can tell if the light hits it, but if the clothes cover it, it's all hidden, and frankly also much less weight for the postage fee.

The card is 15x15 cm.

funny cards

yesterday and today I made two funny cards, if these don't make you laugh like I did, I'm sorry. SO cheesy (ha) but I think they're hilarious

Katzelkraft Les Rats de Ville and Les Chat Russe

Steampunk

I'm honoured to be the Guestdesigner for the Male Room Challenge this month, the theme is: Steampunk.

For my card I started with diecutting the gears, first from metallic card, but it was too shiny, I tried to apply the Viva decor Rusty patina, but it didn't stick as the metallic card was too slick. So I switched to brown and black card, the brown helps with the rusty feel and the black complements it. I applied the Rusty patina with  my finger and wiped it across the gears randomly.

For the background I masked off a strip on the cardbase and applied Distress ink: Black soot, Chipped sapphire, Faded jeans and Speckled egg.

Then I stamped the sentiment, it's from Clearly Besotted's Robot Plushies, I've used Versafine ink.

The robot gentleman is  from Katzelkraft Les Robots 1. Stamped it with Gina K amalgam ink and coloured it with Copic markers. Cut it out.

Mounted the robot with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase. The gears I adhered to the cardbase alternating  between liquid glue or foamtape.

AAA Birthday Challenges #22 A Large Sentiment, with video

The AAA Birthday Challenge for February is: A Large Sentiment.

For my card I made a large sentiment on the pc as I don't have a large stamp (I wanted to use).

I printed it with my laser printer and so Ican foil it.

I pulled out my laminator and Decofoil lilac, I thought that was funky and for a boy but also a girl that likes monkeys.

The image is from C.C. Design Stamps Monkey set. I coloured it with  Triblend markers. Mounted it with foamtape and adhered as if it is standing on the large sentiment.
