Toucan Surf

Hello, today I'm using the Whimsy Stamps digi Toucan Surf, together with a few mor Whimsy Goodies, read on to find out.

For my card I printed and colored the digi from the Dustin Pike line: Toucan surf and cut it out.

For the cardbase I made a mask with the Mix and Match Marquee die set and inkblended Distress inks through it, I've used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Gathered Twigs and Scattered Straw. Splattered with water for that ocean spray look.

Then I die cut the  Happy Large Word Die from White cardstock so brighten up the background and also so it stands out, I glued it to the cardbase.

Underneath I stamped the Birthday from the Happy Sayings clear set.

Mounted the image with foam tape and adhered it on top.

AAA Colourful Challenge #5

Doesn't our badge look a lot like Red White and blue, for those in the U.S. celebrating the 4th of July it might spark lots of ideas.

For me it was hard. but I then came up with the idea of a Greek Village and it's all white houses, a white Lighthouse with the hint of red from the badge and two colours of blue in the sky and the waves.

I diecut the elements from Your Next Stamp (Houses on a hill), Avec 3D dies, Gummia Pan Seagull from various colours of cardstock. (My first version was all white colored in with  markers...didn't like it as it wasn't as crisp.

Stacked and glues all the elements and stamped the sentiment in  red (Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment Strips)

I look forward to what you make, please enter your card here.

Mamacita needs a marghertia

Hello this week I'm using the digi from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike: Caramel Mamacita.

I printed it and colored it with alcohol markers.

The sentiment is included and I colored the outside with blue, so it stands out and gives that summer vibe, I think...

Then matted the panel and adhered it to a cardbase with tape runner.

Mounted the sentiment with foamtape

You can  find the image in the Whimsy Shop:

AAA Card Challenge #267: Anything Goes with the option of Masculine

This Fortnight we have  an Anything Goes Challenge with the optional twist of Masculine.

Masculine cards are difficult for a lot of people so it IS optional, just a direction to give you ideas if you 're stuck.

I made two cards , the first I have since then demoted to "not good enough" and not empty enough, esp the grass portion.

I've used the Katzelkraft Stamp Robot Chien and colored it with alcohol markers. It was in my stash and  those make for quick cards and can also help you take a direction.

To ground the image I've inkblended the Distress ink Cracked Pistachio as a grass like thing.
The Happy Birthday is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips). Then mounted the image with Foamtape and stuck it on the cardbase.

I remade the card with an inkblended sun or sorts with Distress inks (Squeezed lemonade, Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber). at first I thought to make a cloudy banner or and inkblended area, I felt I do that a lot, so I went for  the Sun, but I just realized Sue from our DT also grounded her image in a circle.  Maybe that gave me the idea, it's anything goes, so you do you.

For the Double Decker Airplane, I've used the dieset with the same name from Craft Emotions. At first I went all fancy on it with silver frame and a "red Baron"body..didn't like it, I'm so fickle ;-) I preferred it as a silhouette, but left the silver blades as if they're catching the sunlight, also so it stands out.

The sentiment is  the same as before.

Age is just a number

Hello, this week I'm using the Beach Gnomes digi set from Whimsy and Dustin Pike.

I printed it, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers, then added white gel pen details for a shiny surf board and such.

The background is in two parts, Kraft card for the beach laid on top of a white cardbase.

On said cardbase I applied Distress inks Mermaid Lagoon and Uncharted Mariner with a  bit of masking paper I cut into a curve, like waves. I then splattered with water and white paint for sea foam or spray.

I adhered the kraft cardstock with tape runner. Stamped the sentiment on the same kraft card with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and cut it out with the Simple sentiment strip dies, the sentiment is from the Simple Sentiment Strip set.

I thought it was funny as Gnomes look like old men and  he's apparently still surfing. There's also a sentiment in the said that says Do what  makes you happy and that was my first choice, but then I spotted this one and I thought it was perfect.

Mounted the gnome and sentiment strip  with foamtape and adhered them on top of the card.

AAA Birthday Card Challenge June: Cute #62

Hello, this month we're all about "Cute" and could my Bunny Ballerina be any cuter? I think not.

It's a stamp from Nellie Snellen (Nellie's Choice Bunny Ballerina) and it comes with matching dies. I stamped it on Copic friendly paper, colored it in light pastel like colors, then cut it out and mounted it with foamtape and set it aside.

For my cardbase I first went with a triangular mask as in a spotlight, but it was off centre and I didn't like it. So I, instead, went with a whole lit up stage ( at least in my head) and I've inkblended Distress inks, Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, Spun Sugar and Wilted Violet, to deepen the Picked Raspberry). Splattered with gold glitter spray ink and stamped the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips).  Added the Bunny on top once the cardbase and ink was dry.
