Today I was introduced to a new challenge blog, and it's their first challenge, so I thought I'd show my support ;-)
it's the CAS watercoloured card challenge: autumn.
Also entering it to the Addicted to CAS challenge, which is watercolor.
For my card I used brown tones, as deers are brown and autumn in Holland is brown and gloomy ;-). Copper embossingpowder from Wow!
It's also cold here, altough I heard it's snowing in Canada already!, so the sentiment feels in place.
I used a deer die to cut out the shape from Inkadinkado masking paper. Mine is not very sticky and peeled up in places, and the color went underneath, most apperent at the legs..
I used cold pressed Schut watercolor paper in 140lbs, that
I mounted with foamtape to the cardbase.
Fun thing it I still have the deer image in masking paper, so I could make a revers, so a white deer and brown surroundings, but I thought this would be much more CAS.
The deer die is from Yvonne creations (ycd10029) and the sentiment is from Marianne design (EC0148)

Hi Maaike. Great idea to use your die-cut deer for creating a masked and watercoloured image. The browns and copper are definitely autumn colours here in Canada as well. No snow for us here on the west coast ... we usually have pretty mild winters, but not the same for other parts of the country. I'm happy to be in sunshine today. :) Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful brown watercoloring. The little bit of sparkle in the embossing is perfect.
