Party

Today it's Christmas, so Merry Christmas everyone.
Without husband or kids, I feel it's not  the party for me, especially with my birthday only a  week ago, I rather spend it quietly and bake something...bread in this case and did some laundry and washed the dishes lol...I'm a regular party animal I thought to myself...
(Remember that song "I wanna fight for the right to paaaaaartyyyy"? well those days are long gone haha)

That tied in rather nicely with this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday Challenges : party, showcasing Simon Says Stamp.

For my card I've used the Simon Says Stamp Birthday balloons sentiment and one of the stars in the set. For my party animals/monsters I've pulled out the My Favorite Things More Monsters set.

I've stamped them with Memento inks. the grass is Distress Oxides and the sentiments I've made with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.. I thought the semi circle sentiment could be a banner and I've added white gelpen to the eyes..
Pretty simple one layer card, easy to mail and fun to get ;-)

Cityscape

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Cityscape.

For my card I used the  Memory Box  dies Cityscape silhouette and nighttime, they pair up to make a lit up city. I diecut them from yellow and black cardstock and glued them on top of each other, then mounted it with foamtape.

For the background I've used Distress Oxides Wilted violet, Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac. The the obligatory splatters with water, white and silver Distress Sprays.

For the sentiment I've used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas. I stamped it on a little scrap of paper onto which I also applied Wilted Violet. I thought White or Black cards would be a too stark a contrast. Heat embossed the sentiment with Wow Opaque bright white and then cut it to size, also mounted it with foamtape.

After the background had dried, I applied my city and sentiment and remembered the cityscape doesn't go all the way on metric sized cards ;-) lol...anyway I could cut off the sides if it really bothers me...we'll see.

Interactive Christmas

For the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Stars, and
for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: interactive Christmas, showcasing Lawn Fawn.

For my Card I made a Distress inked background, for my stars I've used white and Brushed pewter Distress Spray.

I've used the Lawn Fawn Parumpapapum , colored them with Triblend markers, then cut it out.

I've cut the slit in the background with Lawn Fawn slide on over.

the Town I tried to stamp, but all the silver on the background kinda messed that up, probably should have masked off the town, but who knew....Usually Versafine covers it, but I 'm guessing I've used too much silver for my starry background.

So I covered that ill attempt with a town border diecut and attached it with tape runner to the background.
Mounted the background with foamtape, two layers would have been better to make the train move smoothly, it works though.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things: bitty Holiday Wished and I embossed it in silver to show up on the black, but also to match the stars and for a festive feel.

Christmas cards

For the Simon Says Stamp Christmas cards challenge.
The video for it is coming on Thursday, but I wanted to share the card early for the challenge.

I masked off the snowbank with masking paper. I've used the My Favorite Things Snowdrift die to cut the shape.
Then inkblended Distress Oxides  (Dusty Concord, Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire).

Splattered the panel with Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn for some gorgeous shimmer.
the images and sentiment are from C.C. Designs...Tiny Winter and I've colored it with Spectrum Noir markers, adhered them on the cardbase with foamtape.

Fore more information on this challenge, see this.

AAA Cards Challenge #155: Along the edge + time travel

This fortnight our challenge is along the edge and the optional twist is time travel.
My fault as I chose this topic ;-)

Our sponsor is STAMPlorations and...

For my card I made a galaxy of sorts with finger daubers and Distress inks. I splattered  white ink on top for my stars. It's not how I usually do my galaxies but as it's along the edge of my card it's very topical and most of it will be covered. I have included another card I made last year, but that is not at all CAS as we like as AAA cards, so I confined the universe to the side.

The sentiment and images are from Kindred Stamps' Time traveler set. I stamped them with My Favorite Things Extreme black onto Talens
Ecoline printer paper, very thin for watercoloring, but super for my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.
I cut  out the images and mounted them with foamtape, to make them  more sturdy.
I think this is the David Tennant Dr Who and he used to wear everything brown, I tried to match his outfit to the background as well as I could with my 24 piece set (there's no purple in it p.e.)

Placed them along the galaxy as if, they're flying through space.

Village in the snow

Well a slanted village in the snow haha, I was paying more attention to the height of the hill, I didn't even notice the houses are a little slanted...so don't look at that ;-)

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is:  Lets sparkle, showcasing Brutus Monroe ( I have none yet, one is coming in the mail anyday...)

The Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Traditional Christmas, showcasing Tim Holtz.

For my Card I used Tim Holtz Distress oxides and a Sizzix die for the word Christmas.

The village is from Your Next Stamp (houses on the hill) and the Merry is from My Favorite Things (partially stamped from Bitty Holiday Wishes set)

I've inkblended the cardbase with Oxides:

Tumbled glass, Broken china, Mermaid lagoon, Faded Jeans, Chipped sapphire.
I've then splattered the cardbase with Distress spray stains, Brushed pewter and picket fence. I've also splattered some Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn, I mean the challenge is Sparkle and Christmas , right ;-)
Stamped the Merry with Versafine Clair ink, then mounted  the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

I've stacked 4 or 5 layers of the word Christmas for a tone on tone look, but I thought the raised edges would cast shadows, a little nod to Rudolph with the red tittle (dot on the i).

For me a classic Christmas was when we had snow every year. That seems a long time ago. Thanks to global heating we now have dreary wet drizzly rainy days...Snow at Christmas seems a thing of the past.

Guestdesigner AAA Birthday Challenges

I'm honoured to be the guest designer over at AAA Birthday Challenges, a sister challenge born from the AAA Challenges, but only for Birthday Cards, any style. I'm a CAS lady though, so...

The theme this month is: Balloon and or banners and I went with balloons.

I've used a Conie Fong digi (Tori the Dragon), I've printed the sentiment whilst in Photoshop prepping the digi and then printed it with my laserprinter and coloured it with Talens Ecoline a fluid watercolor medium.
Added the watercolor paper  panel to a cardbase with taperunner.

For more information or to play along the AAA Birthday  Challenge, see this.

Meowy Christmas

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: tape it up, and the
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Anything goes, showcasing Penny Black Products.

For my card Iused the Penny Black set called Gather round, stamped the cat with My Favorite Things Extreme Black ink and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.
Then I had the Scan n Cut cut it out, but it chopped off the whiskers. I tried to restamp them on the cardbase, but it looked so weird, I  thought it's better to not have whiskers on the leftside.
Mounted the image with foamtape.

On the cardbase I applied two strips on washitape for the tape it up portion and also

for the sentiment. I didn't feel the sentiments in the stampsets suited me.
Stuck the cat on top and applied a little Nuvo Shimmer pen on the berries.

Simon Says Recycle

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: recycle. Last year I used an old shop bought Christmas card to make my recycled project, so I had to think of something else,of course.

For my card I used and old bubble envelope from SSS actually, to stamp the background through a stencil. I've used Versamark and then Wow Fool's gold embossing powder. Ilike the distressed look.
then I diecut the red tissue paper with the same circle as Iused for the stencil and then I ripped it up. This tissue paper came with an online order of stamps, it's so pretty and glittery had to reuse it!. the wooden Santa was on a gift I got  and well it's too nice to be trash.I mean someone might have carved it or painted it!

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (Tiny words Christmas) and I've used red Crimson Versafine ink.

For more information on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, see this.

AAA Cards Challenge #154: Made in Minutes + Inkblending, with video

This  fortnight our  sponsor is Uniko.
Our challenge is: Made in Minutes with the optional twist of Inkblending.
This card took me less than 13 minutes, you can see it in the video it really didn't take long. According to our blog, you're allowed to plan your card and gather your supplies. Then see if you can create it in minutes - under 15 would be great, but no more than 30.

For my card I used the  Marianne Design Collectables col1409 to make a polar bear. I actually had one left in my bowl of pre-made/cut/coloured things, but I wanted to put it together on camera as it's a really quick process, once you've diecut everything.

Then I've used a piece of scrap with a circle cut out and placed in on my cardbase. I've used Distress Oxides Broken China and Chipped Sapphire for my circle, I did start with Tumbled Glass, but the colours blended as I use the same mini blending tool. That's OK I like it better with the Chipped Saphhire in the centre, so happy accident.

For the sentiment I've used Uniko's set called Simply said blocks Christmas, there's a few different sets, for different occasions. To  stamp it I've used Versafine Clair Nocturn ink.
adhered the polar bear on the circle and I used double sided tape on the back before diecutting, it's like a big sticker.
A few glittery enamel dots to finish the card.
Later I thought, white ink as snow inside the circle would have been nice, maybe next time lol.

Rudy with candycane

The Less is More Challenge this week is a sketch  to use only one of the triangles in said sketch.

I masked  a triangle on the cardbase and applied Distress inks with a finger dauber to create a kind of Aurora Borealis (Northern lights) and then splattered it with Brushed pewter and picket fence spray stains.

Stamped the little images from the Rudy set from Impronte d'Autore with My Favorite Things Extreme black and colored it with Triblend Markers, cut it out.
I stamped them all, but chose this one flying trough my sky with a cany cane, he might or might not have stolen ;-)...Either way he looks very content with it lol

The sentiment is from the same set and I stamped it with Versafine Onyx black ink.

Starry night

I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Starry Night, showcasing Stampendous.

I started with inkblending the cardbase. I've used a home made stencil by partially diecutting a circle from acetate.
I've used Distress Oxides ( tumbled glass, Broken China and Faded Jeans). Then I applied  Ranger embossing paste with some glitter through the Simon Says Stamp Falling Stars Stencil and let it dry.

Then I stamped the Stampendous Holiday Gnomes onto watercolor paper and colored it with Polychromos pencils, then cut it out and mounted it with foamtape. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp also ( tiny words Christmas) and I stamped it wtih
Versafine Onyx black ink.

Lest we forget

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Thinking of you, much like the Wednesday Challenge, but I've already entered that yesterday...although I had a feeling ...anyway made another :-D

Remembrance day is , at least in the UK, represented with a red poppy, and so for my card I used  the Uniko Style set with Memento ink and Versafine black ink. Not a proper poppy, but when I saw it used like this from Uniko owner Beverley, I thought I could do this too. I don't remember her card from last year, but I made one earlier this year with a printed sentiment saying Lest we forget; as I don't have that as a stamp.

For this card I've used the Simon Says
Stamp Friendship blooms for the sentiment and also Versafine ink.

Added three enamel dots to  depict more poppies.

Thinking of you

The new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: thinking of you, showcasing Simon Says Stamp Exclusives.

For my Card I diecut the Simon Says Stamp feathers from cardstock, applied Versamark ink and then a blend of Wow embossing powders. These are left overs from other projects, that I save in a separate pot, so I have no clue as to which colors, It started with blue green and pink tones, then they got mixed too hehe... Anyway it's still pretty and less waste.

For the sentiment I've also used a Simon Say Stamp item: You matter.
At first I used the small you, but i didn't like it, this is my second card ;-)

Added some foamtape behind the feathers and adhered them to the card base.

For more information on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, see this.

AAA Cards Challenge #153: One image + Shimmer

This fortnight the challenge is to use one image only and the optional twist is to add shimmer.

Our sponsor is: Funky Fossils Design and you could win $15 to spend in their shop.

For my card I've used a  free digi from Sliekje stamps. I've printed it on Talens Ecoline printable watercolor paper and colored it with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.
Then I sprayed it with Tsukineko Shimmer spritz in the sparkle variety all over. and heat set it.
Not sure how well you can see it on the photo, but all the white specks are actually glitter specks. so cool inreal life and perfect
for Christmas cards.
I've rounded the corners of my panel and adhered it onto the cardbase with tape runner.
No extra enamel dots, or sequins or rhinestones and such as I thought this was quite enough sparkle ;-)

Cats and wall paper

When my cats were small a little dangling piece of wallpaper would make them go nuts, they just had to get it. And they didn't start it, it was me who ripped it  and they took over, haha...

Anyway the Less is More Challenge is : that's torn it.

For my card I stamped the Katzelkraft cat and sentiment from Simon Says Stamp  Tiny Words Christmas with Versafine Onyx black ink. Just on a panel of cardstock.

I then torn the "wallpaper" to reveal the layer below, in this case a nice teal glitter paper as I made it into a Christmas card.

I ruffed the edges of the tears with my scissor.

Thank you cards

After all your Christmas cards adorned your home, you might want or need to send a thank you.

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Thanks/Thanksgiving, showcasing AALL and Create products, but I have none.

For my card I inkblended Distress inks through a mask. At first I wanted to add a stencil for a snowflake or Hearts pattern, but decided against it.

I've used Seedless Preserves, Picked raspberry and Spun sugar.
On top I stamped the Thank you from  Impression Obsession (E20163) with Versafine Onyx black ink.

For more information on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, see this.

Christmas crafty friends

For the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: anything goes, showcasing Sunny Studio Stamps.

I only have the Berry bliss set and didn't feel like it ;-)
I'm in Christmas mode haha...so are my critters from Penny Black's Xmas crafts stamp. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's Tiny words Christmas.

I stamped them with Extreme black ink and coloured them with Triblend markers. Pretty much the same as the image on the stamp, bit different color wise, but  hey gotta roll with what you have ;-). I covered the critters and then splattered gold shimmer spritz on the background for a bit of mandatory festive glitter.

Rainbow trees

The new Less is More Challenge is: One Layer and Winter Flora.

I had to dig through my stash to find this row of Christmas trees, pretty much all my stamps are Fauna, cute critters, maybe squirrels in a tree, but yeah...this is a Lawn Fawn Stamp from the Simply Celebrate Christmas borders, so is the sentiment.

I stamped it on the cardbase with My Favorite Things Extreme Black ink and colored it with Triblend markers. They will seep through to the other side...but it's ONE layer fortnight, so might cover it up with a sheet of card later, frankly I don't mind it that much.

Challenge, see this.

AAA Cards Challenge #152 Maxi whitespace + geometric

This fortnight our sponsor is Uniko and I used the Simply Said block Christmas for the sentiment.
If you join our challenge, you could win an in stock stampset.

For my card Iused the circle with star from Simon Says Stamp  Presents and ornaments.
I thought the circle would be  for my geometric bit,not sure if a star is considered a geometric shape too,but it reminded me of baubles or ornaments and I stamped a rainbow of  them with Memento inks.

For the "Maxi white space" challenge, I only stamped one row.

Then I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair Nocturn ink and heat set it to be sure.
